She was murdered when I was three at that time. I watched Selena movie on PPV the first time when I was five. I enjoy it. Then, I watch it again about less than a month before the Series released on Netflix. But, I don’t have Netflix yet.

Selena and Aaliyah remind me of each other. Both just about to cross over to the mainstream before their lives were cut short. Both died at an early age and tragically. Both extremely humble women. Both names are deity like.

He had to cash in on her name while it still remained relevant because she never got to cross over into the mainstream since she passed away so not many knew of her until the English album came out.
Chris is literally her damn HUSBAND and he's never been allowed to tell his story of the Selena that only HE knew. He suffered more heartbreak than probably anyone in the entire world after her death and her family won't let him speak his piece! So f'ing messed up!!!

The use of the word "stolen" would mean that there could have been a chance that she could have been recovered. I think that "taken" is a better choice because sadly she was not able to be returned to her family or her fans.

He could’ve saved his daughter and did nothing with all this “embezzlement evidence” he claimed to have. The one time his daughter needed him, he didn’t intervene like he normally would in her personal life. Selena was a beautiful angel that didn’t deserve how she was treated. She was murdered 2 years before I was born and I keep on thinking about what would have been if she was alive today. She was an incredible performer and Selena was such a beautiful soul. She graced this earth with her presence and made everyone she encountered feel good about themselves. I may be only 23 but she has always been a huge inspiration to me and just like a lot of other people she means a lot to me. Selena is still very much missed💜

What's crazy is that each generation falls in love with Selena. I teach high school and these kids know all about her and love her music.
I just got chills 30 seconds forward. When they played her music, man, so many childhood memories with the family in Corpus!!! I'm 28 now, and I remember my mom and sisters jamming her music, and all her songs were straight FIRE!!! So much emotions, culture, talent, desire, and passion. Again, timeless. My mother passed in 2015, from Ovarian Cancer, so this hits home. This is my childhood man, one of the soundtracks to my life growing up. It was played around me so often, and it reminds me of my mothers side of the family. Good memories...

That’s what Selena’s personality and music does to you, it brings you in and makes you feel like she was a close family member. Her passing was really one of the most tragic things that happened in this country for music.

I was at her last concert in El Paso in 4 July 1994. I had never heard of her before that night but I will never forget it.

I was a kid when she passed but I remember watching the Selena movie over and over in 7th grade summer in the 90s.She was very talented and gone too soon. When I see anything about her She reminds me of a smiling sun.

I actually had never heard of Selena until about a couple of years ago. And, even I mourned when I saw that she had passed those many years ago.
the "close friend" remark was true for their working relationship back then. However, the family has long since decided not to speak the name of the individual who murdered Selena, so as to not give her any power of press.

I am Not Latin, but because of Selena, I started to listen to Latin music and here is the kind of impact she gave the world. As an example I live in northern Ontario Canada, in the cold winters I craved the warm weather by listening to Selena and her band. She was so young taken from us and her family...my heart goes out to her family. She will never be forgotten. Oh yeah...i binged the netflix story of her
