They all deserve our gratitutude and respect. I feel like some try to get angry and criticize JLo bc they're distraught at what happened to SELENA. JLo earned every bit of what she has accomplished. The only person to blame for what happened to SELENA is the monster that tragically took her life and robbed us of enjoying the future of her wonderful gifts. From this day I will always love her music, I just like to say I'm 100% Italian, and that I was 10 yrs old that I was brought up watching telemundo with my mom, so I like to thank my mom for letting me learn the Spanish culture of music. Jennifer Lopez, played an awesome role of selena, they look like twin sisters. Selena and Jennifer Lopez, and the Quintanilla family are all my inspiration. JLO is incredible as person. What I love about her is how feminine she is... in the era of "Im tough like a man"-feminists, she seems strong because she seems to control her career and business brilliantly, and yet, she embraces her womanhood. She has that softness, that sincerity that women rarely have nowadays.

Jay Lo, was incredible as Selena. She made people fall in love with Selena. I think it was a powerful movie and a power portrayal of her family the ups and downs of family life especially in the entertainment business. The guy who played her father well-known Latino actor, I forget his name now but he was fantastic. The movie really portrayed how fathers are so important to daughters especially in that type of situation where she was groomed by her dad to be a singer and he really Believed in her which was so so important. It was emotional me Im sure for many many people also . Jay Lo hit a grand slam with her portrayal !
I give her props for giving it her all in the movie but a voice like Selena will never come around.

I did not know about Selena till few years ago. I was a kid when she died and I don't even know how well known she was in Europe at that time. But I am a major fan of latin music and since I started watching telenovelas I started slowly listening to the music and so I found few years ago some Selena songs. And when I googled her and found out that she died so young I was sad. It made me really emotional. And I was also wondering what would the music industry look like if she was alive. Too bad she isn't. Such a beautiful person and singer. I really wished we could have hear more of her. But it is great how people still love her and even people like me who find out late about her start to love her. You can tell that those people even after being gone are true legends.

I respect Jennifer much more playing Selena in the movie she did everything she could to show and potray Selena so wonderfully I don’t think any person actor could have pulled it off any better then Jlo I mean she looked exactly like Selena and I thought for a second Selena came back to life so jlo is special in her own way and Selena is incredible and she was she still lives on amd will keep her memory alive.
I agree with you! However, there are so many people that say they loved Selena, but they are nasty for constantly putting down JLo. Selena was such a beautiful person and would never make disparaging comments of JLo to elevate herself like her fans like to do. If her fans really loved her like they say they do, they would take after her, and model her true spirit of love and humility. Selena was such a good hearted person, I'm sure that she would be proud of JLo's performance to her.

Nothing against Jennifer - she did an awesome job of portraying Selena in the movie - but it's actually Selena who's "beyond famous". She's legendary , and that's pretty much what the word means . Much respect to Jennifer , though , for always giving Selena the "props" that she so deserves.
