Diego Coppin Wouldn’t it be funny if this happened plot-wise around Halloween? Around the month of October, The Collector starts spotting things wrong with his tower. He soon is haunted by the five guest from the Tower of Terror, and through some kind of dimensional event, the 5th Dimension breaches the Guardians reality, and their only escape is to ride the Maintenance Service Elevator to the 5th Dimension and back. Best line to imagine would come from Starlord: “I thought it was just a tv show. I thought that The Twilight Zone wasn’t real.” Maybe that’s just me liking the idea of something haunting and something from the past like The Twilight Zone, appearing in our reality. Having a comic book movie encounter something like this would freak them out, as they wouldn’t know how to handle such strangeness. Maybe I just like something like Serling’s The Twilight Zone touching the modern pop culture. It would certainly freak out The Collector, and help the Guardians (as well as freak them out as well).
Thank you for this. This is the only video (that I could find) that covers the DCA Tower of Terror history perfectly, especially when it comes to the actual reasons for its closure. At the time, it was annoying to hear everyone say they closed it because Disney was losing the rights to the Twilight Zone IP, which was always false. The reasons that were mentioned in your video has always been the truth as to its closing. I went on Mission Breakout once and I have had no desire to go on it again since. Tower of Terror was a beautiful attraction inside and out. To me, it was always The Haunted Mansion of California Adventure. I miss it so much and it will always have a special place in my heart.
I was born and raised in California, and I have never been to California Adventure. And now that Tower of Terror is gone, I won't ever go. I'll have to fly to Florida to ride this awesome ride.
Theme Park History The Guardians theme now also has a random experience every single time. As an avid disneylander I can tell you the ride is never the same
Megan Modjewski I know that. Even if the ride is good, the exterior looks like trash. It looks like The Tower of Terror was swallowed by 'It's a Small World'.
Well, DCA kind of sucked. The idea to have a California themepark in California was such a strange, limiting, and abstract gimmick. The Tower was the only thing that worked in that park. And I honestly like the Guardians ride better. The spooky atmosphere can only be effective maybe once or twice, especially with the single drop sequence. With Guardians, it's a more lighthearted tone, almost reminiscent of a party. It's hard to scare someone with the same tricks, but it's much easier to entertain them. The new exterior still looks like shit, unless it's nighttime at Halloween.
Theme Park History from what I heard was is Disney has the listener to use the twilight zone until 2020 but what they are afraid of is if the reboot of the tv show does well cbs will double the amount if that happens they will do a back story conversion on the one in Florida but it won’t be marvel based but will stay a hotel from what I heard it will be almost like the Hightower story
What I would do to pay homage to Tower of Terror is have a newspaper clipping in the Mission: Breakout queue that reads *Abandoned Hollywood Hotel Disappears After Thunderstorm* as little reference meaning the hotel has mysterious disappeared into *The Twilight Zone.*
A former cast member that worked at tower of terror in California told me that they were going to add the randomized drops to boost attendance later on at California Adventure, but while they were testing the randomization, it broke in all 3 shafts so they couldn’t use it. The randomization you see in mission breakout is a recycled version of that.
Didn't know that, makes sense why it never came to DCA. I know that was the one things fans really wanted to come over from the original version in Hollywood Studios.
Just wanted to say that it also should have been possible to add randomized sequences at DCA since it works at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris with exactly the same ride system.
Love the videos! You should do Muppet Vision, it's one of my favorite things to do and every time I go to Hollywood Studios I treat it like the last time because we all know it's gonna be gone sooner rather than later
Muppet Vision isn't leaving anytime soon. They converted the Toy Story restaurant into a Muppet one just two years ago and are now calling the area Muppet Plaza. With the addition of Muppets in Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square and mentions of the IP in the new Wreck-It Ralph film, I highly doubt Disney is dropping Muppet Vision
That being said, I'd love to see this channel cover Muppet Vision anyway. That show makes me laugh hysterically dispite seeing it like 50 times and quoting the full thing with my sister
Oh the memories I have when I stayed at The Hollywood Tower! That place finds a way of dropping you in the zone! On Yelp, I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. They lose 1 star for always having issues with their elevators.
Excellent video. I loved DCA's Tower, even with the perceived shortcomings people had about it being a watered down version of WDW's. For nearly 13 years, DCA's Tower of Terror captivated me and became a massive obsession and love in my life. It inspired my education and choice of career path. Even today I still crave being able to drop in again to the luxurious Hollywood Tower Hotel. It may be gone, but it won't ever be forgotten in this fan's mind and heart.
Backdraft! I know I know it’s on the list but I’m gonna keep suggesting it until it’s out! Don’t worry, once it’s out I’ll find another ride/experience to pester you about. Just be thankful you got T2 3D out before I discovered you. Keep up the great work.
Another successful video. Really really miss this ride(i live in ca). But videos like these really help. Loved the previous concepts for this ride too. Gotta go back to Japan to ride their Tower of Terror. Absolutely stunning.
First of all thank you for this channel. It is great to learn the history behind theme park rides. Second, this is a great video. It is my favorite theme park attraction
Thanks for doing this Ride! The fear i felt riding this as a kid makes it the most memorable Disney ride for me! I'd also love to see an episode on The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man!!!
Thank you, we've been getting that a lot lately with our videos and they bring back the memories when they visited the parks as kids. The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Terrell.
You should do a history of the Hyperion theater. Before Frozen and Aladdin, the Hyperion did other shows there. Even talks of taking the Toy Story stage show (which can be seen on cruises) were going to be there.
Huge ToT enthusiast! I love this ride, the show it's based off of, and every incarnation of it (I'm lucky enough to have been on all the Twilight Zone themed ones) Great video, btw. Your editing is very professional!
Thank you Drew for letting us use your footage. You would be surprised how hard it was to find any type of promotional footage of the attraction from Disney, most of the official footage were mostly interviews with the imagineers or a tv special hosted by Kirk Cameron.
That monologue at the end about the reason Disney rides stick with you much more than Universal rides hit me like a truck. I honestly cannot remember any memories form my childhood in Universal, though I visited the park a lot. Yet I can remember so any different rides from Disney, I can remember every single aspect of the first Test Track and my first experience in Space Mountain. I’m part of the WDW Florida gang and if this were to happen to us I’d be devastated :( so many memories.
Maybe you can write a letter to Disney or Josh D'Amaro about that. In fact sicne the latter seems to be more communicating he may respond to you. Go ahead give it a try. And remember to be nice.
I am in awe of the production value we get from your videos. Keep up the great work! I have watched all your videos and have saved this one for last as the Tower of Terror is my favorite ride. The music and theming is out of this world and I would be crushed if the Florida version were to go away. It would be great if you did the Haunted Mansion for your next video.
I’ve lived in California my entire life and I remember hardly being tall enough to go on this ride. I was sobbing, my 7 year old self was terrified but I went on again, and again. The tears and fears were worth it. Just being in the queue put butterflies in your stomach. Even if the guardians of the galaxy one is fun it will never be the same because this ride was my favorite and a huge part of my childhood since I went so much as a kid. Now that I’m an adult I’ll definitely save up to go to Florida just to be in the twilight zone again
I feel that Mission Break out and the other new themes at California Adventures has no real reason to be there other than to be a easy cash grab. The theme of the park is CALIFORNIA Adventures. What does a bunch of super hero themed rides or Pixar Pier have to do with California. Hollywood is a major part of California, thats why that section of the park was made. Im sooooo disappointed in this change.
I really think theming for a theme park is starting to slowly die off. California Adventure doesn't focus on California anymore, Universal Studios Florida isn't about riding the movies and Epcot is getting a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction in Future World. It's not about the idea of a park anymore, it seems to be bringing in the most popular IP's, milk them dry and move on to the next one.
Theme Park History I most definitely agree. I believe it’s because the park owners think that kids will not understand the concepts of what the parks were originally trying to show. But even when I was a kid i totally understood and appreciated the old style hollywood theme of that section of the park. Coming from a mountainous area, then to paradise pier, then ending with the old hollywood theme was a great look for the park in my opinion
Aut I was so upset about the tower of terror being gone, but have you been on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride? To my suprise it was actually good. Same with Pixar pier, the story of the incredicoaster is so great. But I agree with you on the marvel, that was the one part of the park that very young children could go on. It is sad that is soon will be torn apart.
Bunny Fluffington I actually have not been to the park these past few years. I am willing to go check them out soon no doubt. Im just sooo sad that all i will have now are just memories of how the park used to be! I wish these could only be seasonal changes and not permanent
Oh, I love Twilight Zone AND Tower of Terror! My favorite episode is It's a Good Life, and I love the movie's version as well as the 2002 follow-up! And the ride, I had a T-shirt and STILL have the poster:) The movie from 1997 was pretty neat too.
Loved the ending of this. Losing the tower wasn't just losing my favorite ride in the park -it was losing the idea of DCA. The Hollywood area was my favorite area of the park and now it's going away to be replaced with a Marvel area. Don't get me wrong. I get why that's happening (way more than Pandora anyway), but I wonder how I'll feel going back to that park in 10 years when it doesn't resemble the one I learned to love. I hear a lot of people repeat Walt's words "Disneyland is not a museum" and I agree that every ride can be replaced or at least improved, but Disneyland will always have Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Tomorrowland. California Adventure? I have no idea what "lands" will stay and what attractions I'll have left from my childhood. Will it even be the same park or change its name to reflect the times? :(
So happy to see this ride covered. I rode it every year with my cousin when I'd come to visit the park. It was my favorite ride. :) The Tower of Terror definitely was a timeless classic attraction and is sorely missed in the park. Mission Breakout is a phenomenal successor and I can't help but wonder if the negative backlash it received prior to the ride opening served as a challenge to the Imagineers and park executives to make it worthwhile to the park guests. I agree, though. Will the copious introduction of Marvel attractions and rides serve as a quick fix to the less lustrous California Adventure or will it end up being the right call in the long run? Whether or not these films stand the test of time will probably be the deciding factor on that. Excellent video! Thanks for covering this. ^_^ Although, I can't let this go... did you mean the "BILTmore" hotel? 'Cause you pronounced it "BLITmore"... at 5:06 - 5:07.
This ride used to be my worst fears as a child but time past by and today I think I got over it idk I am officially am because my heart racing when I was waiting in line and I actually appreciate it I understand that why people would miss it but with me I just deal with it
Felt the same way whenever I went on Revenge of the Mummy or Jurassic Park. Now whenever I can get to the park I can't wait to get on those rides and feel that rush of excitement.
Last week I visited the DCA park for the first time and rode the new version (guardians of the galaxy). Even thought the technology is incredible and the ride is nice there is something special about the creepy atmosphere that Tower of Terror gives that surpasses any new tech or visuals. I still remember when I rode Tower of terror for the first time in Florida… I’m thankful it still there and hope it never closes
Diego Coppin It doesn't have to be a ride for Theme Park History to do a video on it. They do history videos on other stuff too. They've done a history video on Lights, Motors, Action which is a show.
We try to release a new video every two weeks (give or take a few days). I hate to plug it but we do a short teaser video for whatever is coming up next on our Twitter account. We should have that posted by the weekend.
I'd really love to see the history of the Universal Studios Hollywood Backdraft Ride or the Old 3 part Special Effects "show." Thanks for all the hard work you do!
When I was 9 or 10 I got to ride that ride back in 2013 and holy shit I'm glad I got to ride it before it got changed. Pretty fun and will be part of my childhood.
Have to hold on to those memories, they way things are going on in theme parks lately most of the attractions we've grown up with seem to be on the way out. I
You didn't come off as mean at all Randall. We appreciate the kind words. I know people have been asking for both attractions for a while now but we wanted to take a small break from Universal so we give people the impression we only do Universal rides.
Could you do a history of Batman and Robin: The Chiller at Six Flags Great Adventure? You’ve already done two rides from Great Adventure so why stop now?
Thanks for doing a video about this ride I love this ride a lot and I'm a huge fan of the show the twilight zone I really appreciate it thank u so much
Nothing like the original TOT at Hollywood Studios, but TOT at Tokyo DisneySea has the best theming and overlay (13th level , Shiriki Utundu’s additional appearances) is outstanding
DisneySea has the advantage since it isn't tied down to the The Twilight Zone IP. I do agree with you though, really nice building to look at and the story is pretty interesting as well.
I gave Mission: Breakout a try this past summer, and it absolutely broke my heart because all I could think about was how/where everything used to be, from the lobby, the boiler room, and the stops on the elevator itself. This is going to sound really corny but Tower of Terror was special to me in that it introduced me to Twilight Zone, and it's what got me into that amazing show in the first place. I wouldn't have minded Guardians so much if it didn't come at the cost of one of my favorite rides. I know I could go to the one at Florida (but even I worry about it being replaced) but it's always been more convenient for me to go to CA. Man, the last time I was this salty over an attraction was when Winnie the Pooh took over Country Bears.
At least it's still in Florida! I'm going in December, can't wait to go on it again. Classics should never be removed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Great video!
3:56 HOLD UP IS THAT TAIL O' THE PUP IN A BLUEPRINT OF MGM STUDIOS?!?! JDHSJWJJWSKSJ THATS AN ICON OF HOLLYWOOD IF THEY GOT IT OUT OF STORAGE AND INTO MGM STUDIOS THAT WOULD BE *AWESOME*
I'm thankful it's still in Florida and paris.
I think many Disney fans are, imagine if they removed or changed the ToT theming? I think fans would go nuts at the news.
Theme Park History I can just picture the marches and riots already😂
Tons of fans marching down Sunset Boulevard but instead of pitchforks and knives it's Mickey shaped balloons and churros 😂
Theme Park History you should da a space mountain history vid, it would be really cool.👍👍
We will get to Space Mountain, working our way through the most requested videos but I promise Space Mountain is getting a video in the near future.
This is such a gem of a small channel

California Adventure? I have no idea what "lands" will stay and what attractions I'll have left from my childhood. Will it even be the same park or change its name to reflect the times? :(
Awesome video as always. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Scarface, appreciate the kind words.
I loved this video on one of my favorite rides! I would love to see the history of Men in Black Alien Attack :)
MIB: Alien Attack has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Red Cyborg Productions.
I'd like to see men in black also!
You have a great channel. I can't wait to see it grow more. I love your videos that you have.
Thank you so much for the kind words Nintendo Gamer, you don't know how much those words me to us.
Went on it twice.
Was JUST AWESOME!!!
Only twice? Just kidding 😂
So happy to see this ride covered. I rode it every year with my cousin when I'd come to visit the park. It was my favorite ride. :)
The Tower of Terror definitely was a timeless classic attraction and is sorely missed in the park.
Although, I can't let this go... did you mean the "BILTmore" hotel? 'Cause you pronounced it "BLITmore"... at 5:06 - 5:07.
This ride used to be my worst fears as a child but time past by and today I think I got over it idk I am officially am because my heart racing when I was waiting in line and I actually appreciate it I understand that why people would miss it but with me I just deal with it
Felt the same way whenever I went on Revenge of the Mummy or Jurassic Park. Now whenever I can get to the park I can't wait to get on those rides and feel that rush of excitement.
My other suggestion for a history video is Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. And, as always, loved this video!!!
Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland has been added to the list, thank you for the suggestion and ind words Nathan.
Can you do a video on The Simpsons ride at universal studios?
The Simpsons Ride has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Isaiah.
"Hey! You look very familiar..."
I love your channel. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos. 👍🏼
Thank you llli, appreciate the kind words 👍
*sips a tall wine glass filled with the tears of park purists* Ahh, So refreshing.
This channel is great! Keep it up :)
Thank you very much Grant McManus, appreciate the kind words.
California Screaming
Dueling Dragons (or the entire Merlin’s woods section of lost continent)
Matterhorn Bobsleds
All three have been added to the list, thank you for the suggestions Tyrus.
ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter
ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Daniel.

Theme Park History wait, I meant congrats on 10k subs lol
Haha no problem, thank you again Kaleb! Still didn't think we would hit that number for a long time when I started back in January.
This channel is VERY underrated
You should do Triceratops Encounter or the Unmade Jurassic Park Rides for Jurassic's 25th Anniversary and the release of Fallen Kingdom.
Bryce Mckenzie good idea
Triceratops Encounter has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Bryce.
No Triceratops encounter is not a ride
Diego Coppin It doesn't have to be a ride for Theme Park History to do a video on it. They do history videos on other stuff too. They've done a history video on Lights, Motors, Action which is a show.
Bryce McKenzie I heard about that but i never got to experience it, the only thing close to that was the raptor encounter
Awesome!! That was a great ride. Make a video of the haunted mansion bro. :)
Thank you Jorge! The Haunted Mansion has been added to the list, thanks for the suggestion.
Well done loved this one
Thank you Jonathan, appreciate the kind words.

We try to release a new video every two weeks (give or take a few days). I hate to plug it but we do a short teaser video for whatever is coming up next on our Twitter account. We should have that posted by the weekend.
Ebic video man. Very well done and edited
And a question: are you a coaster enthusiast?
Thank you! I'm not the biggest fan of roller coasters. I like them but I tend to avoid any that loop, don't want my glasses falling off 😂
I miss you tower off terror we had many memories together!
And Tower of Terror misses you too, they wish you would come visit them at either Florida/Paris/DisneySea.
I'd really love to see the history of the Universal Studios Hollywood Backdraft Ride or the Old 3 part Special Effects "show." Thanks for all the hard work you do!
Great movie ride
The Great Movie Ride has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Fernando.
Great video! I would love to see you do a video on the Disney MGM Studios Backlot Tour!
Thank you! The Backlot Tour has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Pluto Has Fleas.
Theme Park History Well said.
Can’t wait for that Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast/Funtastic World of Hannah-Barbera video! Keep up the great work!
They're coming Randall in due time, I have someone helping me out with those videos. Appreciate the kind words.
Theme Park History no rush! Sorry if I came off mean 😂 but keep up the great work seriously I’m loving this channel!
Batman and Robin: The Chiller has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion CoasterKing.

No problem Joey, appreciate your kind words and support for the channel.
Theme Park History no problem man your channel is amazing and awesome
Nothing like the original TOT at Hollywood Studios, but TOT at Tokyo DisneySea has the best theming and overlay (13th level , Shiriki Utundu’s additional appearances) is outstanding
DisneySea has the advantage since it isn't tied down to the The Twilight Zone IP. I do agree with you though, really nice building to look at and the story is pretty interesting as well.
Never been so happy to see a new video
Never been so happy to see a comment like this, thank you Bobuski.
Can you please do a video on the Mummy / Van Hellsing / Classic movie monster walk thru at Universal Studios Hollywood???
We'll see what we can do, we might include it when we cover Universal's House of Horrors. Thank you for your suggestion Anissa.
It's called Fortress Van Helsing and it was featured at Universal Studios Hollywood, if you plan on doing it.
I love your channel and am so glad I found it
I gave Mission: Breakout a try this past summer, and it absolutely broke my heart because all I could think about was how/where everything used to be, from the lobby, the boiler room, and the stops on the elevator itself.
You should do the history of professor Burp's bubbleworks at Chessington world of adventures
YES. I LIVE IN ENGLAND AND ILD LOVE THAT
You’re content is amazing! Keep it up I really enjoyed this
Please please please do a history of the Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge coaster

The time-lapse of the TOT is so neat!
3:56 HOLD UP IS THAT TAIL O' THE PUP IN A BLUEPRINT OF MGM STUDIOS?!?! JDHSJWJJWSKSJ THATS AN ICON OF HOLLYWOOD IF THEY GOT IT OUT OF STORAGE AND INTO MGM STUDIOS THAT WOULD BE *AWESOME*
You should talk about Halloween horror nights
We have plans to cover Halloween Horror Nights but closer to Halloween to set the mood.
Definitely glad I found this channel
If I could add another suggestion, Poseidon's Fury at Universal Studios would be very interesting as well.
Poseidon's Fury has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Zach.
No Poseidon's fury is not a ride it's a show
So is Termiator 3D and they did a video on that.
Great video. I just subbed. Can't wait to see your other videos.
Thank you for the sub Jose! Hope you enjoy the videos we already released and our future content!
Love this ride theme
One of the best at any of the Disney Parks in my opinion.
I will be experiencing this attraction at DHS very soon, looking forward to it. I’m a fan of The Twilight Zone. Another great vid 👍🏻
