I had a really bad day today. Work is getting really hard because of this pandemic and i have little support. To come home and be able to listen to such calming and relaxing music helped me so much. This is the first time I have ever listened to this song, yet fitting of its title, I feel a strong wave of nostalgia hitting me all at once. Is it all the Ghibli movies I watched? Is this song a long-dormant part of me, just now waking up? I feel all fuzzy inside. Music can really move you; I feel like this song represents that idea perfectly. (Well, every Joe Hisaishi song moves me, so I guess that's to be expected.) :D
It has the same effect that every Joe Hisaishi song I heard in Ghibli movies... He has really a talent to trigger emotions into us with his music ! I love it so much
It's his melodies! They are unpredictable and it causes goosebumps. He is a master in creating unique melodies that are very recognizable but only fit his style of creating music.
Jay Kyle I wish he was immortal hope there will be another genius like him, or rather not like him because it’s not possible, but a new someone who can get as close to as hearts as him
Eduard M well, it’s a “piece” and the video matches the music extremely well. It is portraying the actual thoughts of someone’s mind (the synapsis of neurons) combining them with Japanese pictures/tradition (Bonzai tree). To my humble opinion, that and the music itself makes it “brilliant”.
I love how all his compositions are immediately recognizable as being his without them being so similar that they would get boring. You can listen to his music for a whole day without ever feeling like you heard the same thing twice. It's simply magical!
I'm currently writing the last research paper for my bachelor and I just finished listening to a Studio Ghibli mix when this began to play. This was a nice pick me up, I'm forever grateful for Joe's music.
This song gives me a feeling of gladness and sadness at the same time. It's like it is telling me that I should be glad for every moment that happened in my life because we can never go back to those times. Even the littlest and silliest thing can become so important as the time goes by. My personal experience while listening to this song is very extraordinary. My chest keeps on being filled with countless and unexplainable emotions that it feels like it's going to burst. I just want to tell you guys that life is so hard and complicated more than we think, but maybe it's not that bad. 🙂 P.S (this might sound so hypocritical coming from me since I'm a depressed person that's currently undergoing existential crisis)
I'm sure y'all got tingles while listening to this cuz I sure did. Also felt happy and sad at the same time throughout the whole piece. ; -; **replays**

Always conjured up something nice to follow the music
Yeah I agree with you on that one :)!

His music he writes is nostalgia as he did not change his style of music. This is like his signature style.

Ghibli entirely defined by a song
