Have you seen the ghibli 25 anniversary orchestra? The whole way through Hisashi could not have looked happier, it seems as though his lifes work was coming together before him. When he tears up playing one summer's day it destroys me everytime. Such a wonderful man
I was having a really hard time studying for my final exams in med school, Im just one year away for starting my hospital practice but everything seems to be too much, I was feeling so stressed and was thinking to leave this carrear and change my dream, because maybe im not good enoght to finish it, but this music gives me a lot of peace and courage to keep going, even though its really hard I feel like I can do anything as long as I have Ghibli music and movies.

Hi, I know this comment is a few months old but I had to stop and let you know that my mother had three miscarriages before I was born. I can only imagine the pain of this experience. My mom shared this with me years ago and I am still processing it, but I am eternally grateful that she kept trying for me. I was a healthy full term baby and am now 32. I swear listening to Hisaishi-san’s music is like nostalgia hitting my face over and over again. I was already in middle school when I found out about ghibli movies (back in 2008). I’m 26 now and honestly, these songs bring back so many good memories from my middle/high school years, esp those times when I watched Ghibli movies with friends. It warms my heart that the most replayed moment of the video is at the beginning of the Merry-Go-Round of Life piece. Howl's Moving Castle is such a masterpiece of music and storytelling and those who worked on it deserve all the recognition in the world.

After watching so many Studio Ghibli movies, and listening to so much of Hisaishi-san's incredible music, I do not think there is a better 'marriage' between film maker and composer over the course of multiple movies in cinema history. This is near perfection.
