Test drove the regular GV70 and was completely blown away...styling, ride, handling, comfort, tech, warranty...the complete package. Hoping to get one used but naturally, difficult to find and the ones that are available are still near MSRP. Such a stylish vehicle.
Unbelievable, I just had a real estate agent parked at my driveway in this car an hour ago, he was about an hour late to the appointment because he was delayed at Genesis dealership for pickup. And he is even more surprised to see another Genesis in driveway my 2021 G80 sedan.
I test drove the GV-70 EV yesterday. All I can say is I have the need for speed now! My kids thought we were testing another boring midsize sedan. When the throttle was opened all I heard was screaming from the back. I guess I should have warned them. It was a fantastic flawless vehicle. I absolutely loved it. About $20k more than I want to pay for a new vehicle, but I'm seriously considering it.
Great review Joe. Just past 1 year on my GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, would buy it again tomorrow. One clever feature, ICE or EV is the cargo cover fits under the floor, there are velcro wings on the carpet sides you lift to make the cover fit, put them back and it's out of sight until you need it. Genesis vehicles are really well thought out, fantastic tech, excellent fit and finish, and refined luxury,. I am really curious to see how the GV60 and Electrified GV70 sell against each other, my preference is the electrified GV70.
The front charging port is definitely the most intuitive location for it. You can pull into any charging station including Tesla stations and charge no problem. You don't have to back in at all.
🇺🇸 *LOVE this Genesis GV70* !! *WAY out of my price range, but could win the lottery* !! *The interior is gorgeous* !! *Prefer the GV70 gas model* !! *Fabulous content Joe and Steven* !! #RaitisRides 🇺🇸
Premium looking vehicle. I've heard that Genesis dealerships aren't providing the level of service that comes with a car of this caliber. The phrase I heard was "They're taking care of customers as if they but the least expensive Hyundai, not a Genesis." Oof!
Great review, Joe! I've been driving mine for a month now and I also prefer putting it in Regen level 3 rather than full one-pedal mode. This crossover is such a sleeper; nobody knows what the heck it is!
From pictures it’s stunning inside and out and seeing it in the flesh in the video even better. I know everyone looks at range and want a lot but 236 is plenty. Nobody takes electric cars cross country
Joe I do love that gap on the hood I feel like if it wasn't there, the hood would have been rather boring. I feel that Genesis AKA, [THR APOSTLE TO THE LUXURY EV CARS] did a dandy of a job & you know that you're doing good in life when you have a sporty SUV.
It’s funny mr.raiti because every time I buy a new car you tend to review them the next day😂 I do t have this one but I have the gv70 sport prestige 3.5tt 2023 😊
I bought a GV 70 Electrified and this vehicle had a malfunction after 3 days of ownership. The malfunction was due to a rear inverter failing and the rear motor failing, where-as the mechanic discovered burnt residue within the motor. After replacing said parts, they decided to test drive the vehicle for 131 miles, without notifying me or requesting authorization. This increased my odometer by 36%. Every step of the way was a complete hassle. The Genesis of America service advisor (Khoi) claims he has no idea about the requirements to fix this vehicle and claims he did not know about the road test, yet when calling the service advisor, she claims that she told him before Khoi called me. I believe this company is trying to hide this issue on the first iteration of this car because it will be costly to initiate a recall which will skew their earnings on this specific vehicle. I would recommend that no one buys their electric vehicles as their Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equally as terrible as a vehicle. The Ioniq 5 driving assistant tool over powers the steering wheel while in use. This same vehicle also has the collision assistance that would notify the driver while the vehicle is completely stopped at a light and another car moves in an adjacent lane.
I love it Joe. You are a big kid just like me. The giggling when you go on throttle had me laughing. I already ordered one of these and can’t wait for for it to get here. The only zonk I have is the short mileage it covers on a full charge. Just wish for the price it would cover at least 300 miles. As usual great job by you and Steve.
I’m 4 months into owning the ICE version 2.5T advance trim of the GV70 and it hits the spot in so many ways including value. The design elements of the electrified version is almost identical to my own apart from being closer to the prestige trim.. mine has illuminated sill plate 😊.. happy I saved $20k at this time
Great review Joe! Here's why I do like Genesis EV better. They don't really look like an ev, they look almost exactly like their traditional ICE vehicles. At first glance, I didn't even know it was an EV it's designed smartly. But regardless I still would go Genesis hybrid of some kind (If I had the bacon for it lol)
I bought one! About a month ago. The dealership had exactly one in inventory. I was somewhere in the back, not out on the lot. I've yet to see another one one the road.
Hey Joe , thank you so much for the review. I'm curious to know how tall are you? I'm thinking at least 6'0 and wanted to know if you had plenty of leg space for this vehicle. I'm 6'2 and have difficult with certain SUvs and am looking into ev SUVs. Thank so much🙏🙏
I've had mine for 6 months 10,000 miles and it's flawless. I commute from San Diego to Phoenix and Las Vegas and I have to tell you it's as smooth as a Bentley, maybe it's because it was designed by Bentley and MBZ engineers in Germany. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you it hauls ass......
Was gonna consider it as my next EV but no wireless CarPlay/Android Auto at that price is a deal breaker. I wonder if they're stuck in some supplier contract that hasn't run out yet and that supplier doesn't have the wireless capability. Since their cheapest models with a different cheap infotainment have wireless capability, it must have something to do with the higher end units they're buying. There's no way they would intentionally keep omitting it on purpose.
If you can afford a 75k car, the Motorola MA1 Wireless Android Auto / apple carplay adapter shouldn't be an issue for you. Should it be included? Yes but it's not a deal breaker.
Heard it has to do with another service in Korea they are contracting with. Why it affects us in the US from a US built car? *Shrug* Not a deal breaker tho. I'd be too busying pressing the boost button to care. Plus you can buy a wireless adapter if you can afford a $75k EV.
That booat button is what every car/suv needs on a steering wheel. That way when you see a street car with NOS booster button, you can surprise them and say...see ya! 😂
Joe, most people who follow you know that you’re based in Florida. I don’t remember hearing you mention that this car is not currently being sold in Florida. It’s only being sold in the café states. Probably should’ve mentioned that.
I’m mostly liking the look of this. But I agree that cargo net seatback pockets on a luxury brand are tacky. Did you find the legroom right in the rear seat? I’ve heard that complaint about the GV70.
Great presentation as always Joe! Hidden part of the genesis gv70 is that more than 30% have reported serious issues with this suv as per edmund reviews (i could be wrong though) , while i admire it has power and good build, its reliability is just not good. I prefer staying away!
@@alexi21san with first year model out(electric or non electric), nobody can say whether they are good or bad. If i were to buy gv70, I would wait for 1 year, read the 1st year risky users feedback and make a decision.
Hyundai is really jumping ahead of its Japanese competitors by pumping out EV's in such a wide variety of styles. This would appeal to a wealthy businessperson. Very clean looking, and appears to be much more luxurious than the overly austere Tesla.
I won't buy an EV until I can "afford" to buy one that has at least 400 mile range because you'll get less in real world since it's advised to charge when they hit 20% and to only charge to 80% so the battery pack lasts longer. FYI. CATL announced new batteries that designed for Airplanes, but maybe they'll use them in vehicles as they are supposed to have much higher density, safer, less costly, etc. They call them condensed density batteries. Something you should check into.
Hi Joe, it is a very beautiful SUV however, the only disappointment is the range. A very dismal 236 miles. That is too short to even do a road trip. That means I will have to spend so much time charging frequently instead of driving. It would be more reasonable to own an EV if it had a minimum range of 450 miles at 80% battery.
They should make an electric model for the gv80 coupe, knowing thay gas is gonna shoot up to 7$ per gallon next year. Whats even worse is, you dont even get 400 miles on a full charge. They want us to switch to electeic but giving us bs mileage smh

Don't believe everything you hear...depends on where you are located. There are good mercedes dealerships and there are some really ratty ones too.
A lot of genesis dealerships going up and one is being built 3 miles from me. That should improve service immensely.
Charge port on front is convenient but gonna be a nightmare when a simple fender bender renders your car unchargeable
It looks like a regular vehicle, that's more than enough for me.
