I chose the GV60 advanced. Designed as an EV from the ground up and the cheapest option. Love the flat floor, open area between driver's and passenger's seat, and storage compartment between the front and rear seats
Agree. And I put a stealth hitch on mine, which gives you a lot of the functionality of a larger SUV for bike racks and trailers. Genesis doesn't offer an OEM hitch yet, but I think the stealth hitch is better anyway.
@@JT-fq2blI'd likely do the same. We don't have any serious winter weather, so AWD isn't any real advantage. I do like the GV70, too, but the extra length is a disadvantage for a city dweller. I like the styling, and the front charge port, but that copper color on the GV60 is sharp, and I slightly prefer the interior.
I went with a grey gv60 performance. Range isn’t an issue because I ise it as a commuter car 42 miles a day. I charge weekly and use it with 2 kids comfortably on mid range weekend family/ friends events. The interior and features that actually matter eclipse anything Tesla has to offer even if they offer better range and a cheaper price. Build quality doesn’t suck either hehe
Thanks, Alex, for a really informative video presentation on these three vehicles. I definitely like the GV70 Electrified best but will wait for the 2024 model.
I've had the GV60 for 6 months, and I've said from the beginning and to the dealer, I have no idea why people would want the GV70 instead, for roughly $10,000 more. Even with the tax credit it's crazy.
I'll bite. Had a deposit on a GV60 but decided to wait for the GV70. Prefer traditional door handles, material quality of GV70>60, sunroof that opens, rear wiper, prefer 20" wheels over 21" wheels, and I have a slight preference for the styling of the GV70. There's no wrong answer, but those were my reasons. And in Canada the difference is $5k btw the two, not $10k
@@stephenj280 That's fair. If they added some of the tech from the GV60 to the 70, it would be a more attractive buy for me. I actually use the face recognition to get in and drive quite a bit. It's wierd to not have that on the GV70 when they already the biometric software.
@@martman123456yeah I know $10K is a lot of money but to me it's worth it as imo it makes the GV60 a perfect EV with the EGV70. I know looks is subjective but I'm not a fan of the rear of the GV60. Other then that I like everything else about it. I was thinking of getting the GV60 Performance but when I heard EGV70 was coming out I lost all interest in it as for just $5K ($70K vs $75K) more you get a way better vechicle imo. They're both overpriced at the end tho. With the EV6 GT going for $55K only I'll rather just get that. 😅
@@volcalstone The performance and the EV6 GT were not contenders for me. There's a small acceleration difference in a straight line, but nothing worth the significant drop in range regardless of price. And they don't handle any better in the corners. As for GV60 or GV70, the EGV70 looks just like the non-electric version, so it really seems like it's aimed at older folks who don't want an aggressively styled car. To me, the GV60 looks like a cross between a Tesla and an old Porsche 911. But styling aside, if they're going to charge more for the GV70, they should offer it with the more innovative features they put on the GV60, like facial recognition and the drawer-style glove box.
Agreed, but you lose certain options, like massage seats and heated rear seats, which is annoying. They should give you the option of fully loading it without the bigger motors. The extra power isn't that important, but the reduced range is a deal breaker.
@martman123456 I wouldn't be buying this if I planned on having people in the back often enough to warrant heated rear seats. This would be a commuter car. As long as the drivers seat has all the bells and whistles I wouldn't care.
2:31 at least it isn't hidden near the infotainment screen (Lincoln) or buried in menus in the infotainment screen. But why are car manufacturers trying to "improve" on something that doesn't need improvement?
I'm not sure what the overlap is of people who live in apartments but are still interested in a GV70. I'm not saying it's zero, I just don't think it's a high number. -Travis
I drove the g80 for 3 weeks waiting for our GV60 repairs and we seriously missed the gv60 so much... So much that we sold our Honda pilot for another gv60! Lol (no joke)
It depends but overall I would say get a low mileage used dealership car. Electrified G80 is the cheapest relative to original price. Long range and great as a sedan. However if you need a hatch the GV70 EV is fantastic. The GV60 EV if you can find a deal but they are popular and hard to find used.
I would only consider used due to high depreciation. Sadly, ike Kia and Hyundai, Genesis doesn't stand behind their products. The powertrain warranty doesn't transfer to new owner.
Please do not make the same mistake as me and purchase a Genesis vehicle. I have been to two different dealerships, 4 separate times, for 6 different issues. None of them have been fixed. This is for a regular gas car. I cannot imagine how awful the quality and reliability of Genesis EVs will be. Do yourself a favor and go with another brand that cares about quality and cares about actually solving the issues that exist with their vehicles. Just another note: Hyundai straight up breaks lemon laws and forces you to go to court against them. Once again, save yourself the pain and buy something else.
I own a GV60 but have been contemplating trading it in for an Electrified G80, however, that price difference though. I have a GV80, but, that thing is too sexy to trade in and plus i don’t think I’m ready to convert to EV completely.
I think hyundai learned from the G80e mistake when making the 2024 Kona by building it around the electric powertrain first, then converting it to ICE.
Aside from the funky front end styling of the GV60, that would be my preference out of the three here. Wonder if Genesis will ever bring the GT or N magic to this model as a type of flagship.
Neither, because the customer/service experience is a total garbage and completely unacceptable for this price range. Great design, but unreliable - that's where you will have to deal with Hyundai barn service. First and last Genesis I've ever bought. Never again. Genesis is not a luxury brand.
Tesla still so dominant now especially so given pricing such as this. Honda starting to make some noise both for incumbent ICE now Hybrid as well too. Winner: Hyundai Santa Fe
the gv70 is so beautiful there's no way i could choose something else -- the interior of the gv60 (especially the airiness with the center console) is the only thing that makes me falter but other than that i am team gv70
Pass on EV's, not ready for prime time and battery tech is changing so rapidly all of today's EV's will be semi-obsolete in five years. That being said I bought one of the very first GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige's (SUV of the year) and almost two years in I would buy it again tomorrow, former BMW and Jaguar owner so I know luxury and performance. I think the G80 is beautiful, but again wouldn't buy the EV version, not a fan of the GV60 styling. Genesis pricing is aggressive, although staring to climb up as they gain market chare, concierge service is great (never been back to the dealer), and best warranty in the business. I am a Genesis fan.

You can’t get a heated steering in gv60 unless you go the top trim, which increases your insurance.
I’d go gv70. It looks the best
But man all of them are tempting
For real
Three great vehicles IMO! I would get GV60 most likely. I like the seating position better when it is not as close to the floor.
my neighbor got genesis few years ago.
the car almost burn down his house.

G80 sedan is such a great looking car
edit: also I love that green paint color
Used low mileage 2023 versions are down 43% from new price in Canada. 5,000-6,000 miles.
What?!?!?! You were in my home state! As soon as you said Cherry Hill I was like WTH? Man I wish I’d known. I would’ve come out to star watch!!!

Hey Alex, please do a side by side comparison between Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Niro EV and Ioniq5 and Ioniq 6. Thank you.
We'll keep it in mind but can't make any promises. -Travis
We got the GV70. Just beautiful! Greetings from Germany!
Outstanding video! Very informative, thank you for the comparison. I am now leaning towards the GV60.
I just got 24 GV60 Performance....its a blast to drive

I would and did choose the GV70.
GV70 for me although that range is a bit disappointing.
Id sacrifice the range to get a proper luxury suv like this
We will have it next week so we can see how the real world range stacks up.

Wish you would have discussed the vehicle to load capabilities. Being a backup battery for your house is something only the f150 lightning does.
Definitely the elegant, imposing G80
I’m wavering between the GV60 and GV70 myself. The limited amount of available cargo space in the G80 is a deal breaker.
The light up Orb Shifter is my favorite shifter. I wish all Genesis had it.
I feel like the GV70 should be a PHEV. That would be a hit
It would suit our needs beautifully.
I’d pick the Gv70 electrified. Due to poor build quality, and exponential technology growth, Tesla is no longer my first EV selection.
Hey I pass that dealer on my way to work sometimes 😃
I love the idea of an ev but living in an apartment it's not reasonable to own. I wish Genesis would make a hybrid or PHEV GV70.

The room in the G80 suffers because of the battery. I like the 80 best but the gas version is a little better.

Does Electrified GV80 come with 7 seats? It's a pity that ZDX doesn't have a 3rd row.
the safer bet would to wait for the flagship Genesis EV SUV: the GV90 which would most likely have 3 rows of seats
There currently is no electrified GV80. However, the new GV90 will be electrified and it does have three rows.
