I have a 2021 GV80 Prestige and it is still a show stopper. Love the car! Absolutely no issues, none!

I find it funny how some people still joke about Genesis being “just a Hyundai,” when they do such an amazing job of differentiating their luxury products from Hyundai. These vehicles actually have wow factor which is something I can’t say about the Japanese competitors.

@@janthonyht93 haha, yup. I was especially disappointed with the new GX. I was expecting it to have a really nice interior, but it just feels adequate.
So true that’s why I don’t like the new Lexus they don’t feel special no more like they did back in the days where it feels different then a Toyota now these day it feels not so fancy. That’s why my favorite luxury brand have been the new genesis brand Acura and Infiniti those actually feel different then the normal brands Lexus should be ashamed with them selfs.

Personally, I’d buy a Genesis instead of a BMW/Mercedes/Audi/Lexus/Acura or Infiniti in this class of vehicles. Love the standard technology and overall quality of these vehicles. GV70 is my favorite crossover being a little smaller.
I used to have a Lexus ES350 F Sport. In the end, I was so disappointed it was just a rebadged Camry with better interior and stiffer suspension. It was sluggish and drove like a boat. Got rid of it after a year. I drove a Genesis G70 and G80. Couldn’t believe the difference in quality and drivability. Drove and felt like nothing like any Hyundai. RWD architecture of the Genesis instead of the FWD of the Lexus made a huge difference.
Good choice. If I wanted a gussied up Camry I’d get a Camry XSE v6 that’s gussied up enough
Totally agree with you. I've driven a ES350 a few times as a loaner & I didn't like it at all, felt too much like a Camry like you said. I currently own a 2016 RWD GS350 F-Sport which is a far superior car IMO.
I'm the fan of Genesis for a while & I buy this.

Genesis opens 26 new standalone dealership across america which is now 35 standalones. We need more.
Yep that's why I haven't got one. My friend has one and the wait time to get service is atrocious due to limited capacity at the dealer. The Hyundai dealership has also serviced his car but they often don't have a clue on what to do which means they have to keep the car for long periods why they're on the phone with a Genesis tech.
This is the key to beating Lexus and the Europeans

Genesis is the wave frfr they are absolutely killing it
People are still gonna say oh it's just a Kia, Hyundai, these are close minded stuck in the past folks who are not leaders and just follow everyone else, and get what everyone else has. They are snoody and bothered of what people think of them. Remember all companies were crappy and cheap at one point, it took time to become what those companies are now. So stop with the it's just a Hyundai, Kia. Remember at one point your Acura is just a Honda. Your Lexus is just a Toyota. Your Infinity is just a Nissan. Your Lincoln is just a Ford. Your Caddy is just a GM etc, you get the idea. All companies were crap at one point I remember my Toyota being a rust bucket. Get your heads out your butts open your eyes and experience the experience for yourself, you will be surprised.
Who cares what they say anyway.. I drive a Genesis G80. Beautiful car.
People will always see the bad in Kia and Hyundai but no one talks about the poor reliability and crazy amount of recalls Ford has👀

It is a very good looking vehicle, the interior is really great and with the B&O audio system included , the price is very reasonable.
Funny how people joke about Genesis bla bla bla. Internet is not real life, most people saying crap about it can't even afford them anyway. I see them everywhere now, sales numbers keep going up. All they need is their own dealership networks and it's home run.

They need to get the fuel efficiency figured out. You're looking at spending 30% more on gas each month compared to X5.

I liked the old instrument cluster instead of the one screen. It looked more like an actual design where as this is just a screen. It doesn't look as bad as others but not an improvement imo and firm leather seats age better

Great review and more detailed than raiti rides(i like his channel as well👌)he stated both seats are massaging but still driver in Genesis, also the padding is a good example in the seats (thank you) and the fragrance description also i like as he made it seem as if it was strong. Great review

I live in Korea. I owned the 2021 G70, got married and changed to the 2023 G80. Now that I have a baby, I am considering the GV80 vs the X5.
The comfort and luxury is better for the GV80 vs the X5.
However, the handling and drive thrill is much better in the X5. The X5 also has much better mileage, especially the X5 50e, so I was leaning towards the X5.. However, there is a leak/rumour that Genesis/Hyundai is making a 2.5 Turbo/Hybrid engine , which will be available for the 2026 year. I am considering on holding on to my G80 until then..
really liking the new GV80 but I hope they can get a better engine in this quickly..
Is bluetooth not a thing anymore? I'm not sure about all the features of apple/android carplay but my 2011 kia has auto connect wireless bluetooth for music and phone calls.

My 2021 Genesis GV80 Prestige 3.5 has been flawless; I would like to see wireless Apple CarPlay and massage functions on the passenger seat. Digital rear view mirror. It competes very well with the Europeans and better than Lexus. No one talks about the great warranty…5 years or 60K miles and 3 year maintenance included.
Offer a black out package for those who don't like all the chrome will look good

Not quite. Those were rectangles in a circle. That of the Pre-facelift GV80 & GV70 (luxury trim) was an oval/ellipsis in a circle.
Beautiful car. That front grill is serious bling. But that gas mileage is a deal breaker for me.
Too bad the exhaust tips and the normal cockpit (one big screen which makes it ugly) are gone 😞...but as always a very nice video!

I like the previous interior better. The only thing I feel that's better is that the top of the interior is black.
I think the whole "statement grill" thing is kind of played out. I'm hoping future Genesis models go more GV60-ish rather than continue to enlarge the grill. Lexus, BMW and others have played it to a fare-thee-well. Perhaps the EV future helps, but I'm starting to doubt that.
It's a fine vehicle that doesn't quite match the best int he class in everything, but for the average buyer this is a supreme vehicle. The only real problem Genesis has is their dealer body. Once they move out the of the Hyundai dealers nationwide they will be a roll if this type of product keeps coming. Remember there is a six figure EV convertible coming an a giant GV90 EV SUV. It's only just starting.
Genesis As a car company is only 9 years old I wish people would remember that The dealerships Will come It takes time to build a nationwide network of dealerships How many dealerships did the other car companies have when they were only 9 years old
@@flar5022 Lexus, Acura and Infiniti all started from day one with their own dealerships in the USA. You gotta do better with the excuse making. Genesis is not a "car company", it's brand under an already established car company.
I’m a hatchback nerd, but the GV70 caught my eye. I’m torn between the upcoming 2024 Golf R or the 2025 GV70. 😅

Still wish they’d tuck the rear wiper away, but then they’d need to move the trunk button, so I suppose it’s a wash.
A Hybrid will do wonders for this GV80 fuel economy is low a Hybrid option will do well for Genesis

My G90 is PERFECT‼️ Best car I’ve ever had. I have the last V8 engine (2021) and I’m going to keep this car in perfect working order cuz I never want to get rid of it 😍 This car runs smooth as butter and shifts with no sound or jerking transition. It goes from 0 to 60 in seconds. Love it 👍🏼

This car does turn heads, the interior looks crazy good now specially with that steering wheel. Leather even on the center, Lexus would never reach this level Lol theirs is plastic on all their cars
Well thats fine its amazing. But its also about history that makes a brand great. Genesis first started out as hyundai. They dont have the heritage or history like mercedes benz or porsche. Thats why I dont think its as appealing however, it is still worth it. That interior is amazing.

Everything is perfect except fuel economy. BMW X5 with inline 6 gets superior fuel economy and that BMW B58 engine is proven reliable even more so than Genesis 3.5T engine
I had a BMW X5 with turbo inline 6. No issues with the engine except for a minor oil leak after 15k miles. However, I had to replace the fuel scavenging system, 3 recalls, rear turn light literally falling off, overly stiff steering wheel, etc. I ditched it after 25k miles (past warranty because I only drove it 5k miles a year). I was constantly worried something would go wrong.

Genesis is gorgeously built but at that price range, we’re heading into the level the Germans. This is a hard sell since Genesis is not as prestigious but is on par with the amenities.

Thirsty is not on par with today's MPGs
82K, missing air suspension, only 18 speakers sound system, and only massage on the driver’s seat, Acura MDX Type S has air suspension, 31 speakers, and both front massage seats for around 75K, although Acura does missing 2nd row seat ventilation and power seats, but I prefer manual 2nd row seats for quick fold down and up.
You forget to mention interior materials…and we all know what Acura brings to the table.
@@jr1885 you mean Acura use less premium materials? I mean, do you really think recycled newspaper is premium material? I do admit that I don’t like piano black material on MDX, but other than that, I have no complaints on MDX’s materials. I also don’t like GV80’s separate panoramic sunroof, I prefer MDX’s single large panoramic sunroof. Also, if GV80 materials cost 7K more, then I would rather save 7K and get the MDX.
Calm down, at this price, GLE still comes with 4 cylinder if you want a nice cabin, or fake leather with 6 cylinder…
@@jackz4149 what GLE trim level comes with 4 cylinder for 82K? If you only care about cylinder count, then 50K MDX comes with 6 cylinder and 60K GV80 comes with 4 Cylinder.

Why does he always only compare this to the BMW and Mercedes when its main competitors to me will also be the Aviator, MDX, XT6, XC90, etc. as well. More so than the Germans. I just get so irritated when these content creators act like the Germans are the only automakers that exist. But overall the Genesis is a compelling vehicle but the Genesis dealer network is anything but. No support service especially if you are in areas with no or small Genesis dealership.
My friend has one and Genesis has had his GV80 several times in the shop for extended periods for hard to obtain parts and then told him for certain minor things they werent going to cover or cldnt due to limited capacity.
Inside, I do not see any resemblance to Bentley in any way.
