    I just purchased the HK Nitrous Blitz and the Benchmade Osborne Barrage 581. Both are great knives. The HK is extremely light and the sharpest knife I have ever owned.

    • @jamescope4831
      @jamescope4831 Год назад +1

      Agreed. I can't imagine why the Blitz isn't on every tops list for best knives to own and carry.

    Agreed, Benchmade Barrage assist is the best, just ordered a custom Barrage Tanto M4 to replace a Barrage drop point 154 cm that may or may not be lost. 154 cm sucks, but the action is so good it was my favorite.
    Yeat, serrated knives aren't as pretty, but if cutting rope is on your agenda it's a lot handier than my prefered rope cutting tools: Block, Chisel, and Mallet. Not to mention it's a pretty good eviscerator..

    I have a Benchmade barrage and its my EDC and has been for six years. It's incredibly tough and worth the 130 buck price tag. It has a safety lock to lock it open and that makes it almost as sturdy as a fixed blade. Save your money and buy the Benchmade

    I have the Schrade Magic assist, and when I got it I was very impressed. Fantastic value for that knife. My only complaint was that the blade steel is a little less than I had hoped for (it is 4043 steel) and that particular knife is available without serrations.

    I just bought the poker plus which I feel is a very well built knife at a reasonable price at around $10 US. It has a string cutter on one end and it is a spring assist open knife Definitely should be on the top ten list in my opinion.

  • @greyspot00

    I think knife hog dropped the ball on this one. knives like the Leek are assisted open, not spring assisted. This is a major difference, and one of the reasons assisted open was invented in the first place. In some states, spring assisted knives are illegal, assisted open is not. The difference is subtle, but the way they work allows certain assisted opening system, such as the Kershaw speed safe, to get around certain knife laws.

      +MarkDavid, I too, had recently bought a Benchmade 580 Barrage, and I have been nothing but happy with it. It's light enough to go in my pocket without weighing me down, yet sturdy enough and thick enough to have a substantial feel in my hand. I have never had any knives in the past, that just feel as good as this one does.

    Hey I'm wondering, are there any certain pocket knives illegal here in California cause I know butterfly knives are and which pocket knives are really worth their price?

    • @knifehogvideos
      @knifehogvideos  9 лет назад +1

      +LazyMcLazy Gamer California is a little difficult to deal with when it comes to knife carry laws. For instance, it is illegal to carry and own spring loaded knives, gravity knives, switchblades, ballistic knives, belt buckle knives, cane swords, undetectable knives, lip stick case knives, writing pen knives and balisongs. Other than this, it is legal to open carry any type of pocket knife. Conceal carry in this state continues to be a problem for certain knives so we suggest avoiding this entirely and only open carry. Which pocket knife would be worth the money to carry in this state? Well, it really depends on what kind of knife you're looking for? Do you want an EDC that you can use for utility purposes? Do you want more of a tactical knife? What brand are you interested in the most? Depending on what you'd like to use it for, your choice can be influenced by many factors. We here at KnifeHog do suggest you pick a pocket knife with a high quality blade steel that will fit your needs and that is large enough to handle many cutting tasks, but short/compact enough to open carry comfortably. If you'd like to get a better idea of what kind of pocket knife you'd want, head over to KnifeHog.com and look into our large selection of pocket knives and EDC's. Also, until October 31st, enjoy 10% off your initial purchase on the site with promo code WELCOMEBACK. Thank you for your question, and we hope this information helps!

      +KnifeHog
      I thank you very much for replying! I am just looking for a knife that I can carry around daily that I will be helpful for cutting and situations when a knife is needed, so I'm basically just looking for a knife I can carry around daily that is very useful, I'm also looking for durability in the knife like the screws, an easy access safety lock that won't break easily but regarding the blade, I'm not too into serrated I'm more into the straight blades that will cut straight through very well like serrated ones..thanks!!

    • @lazymclazygamer5727

      Actually, do you have any recommendations for regular assisted and coil assisted knives, excluding spring that is very sharp with a smooth 3 inch or less blade? Thanks

    • @knifehogvideos
      @knifehogvideos  9 лет назад

      +LazyMcLazy Gamer Of course we have some recommendations! Take a look at our top 3 picks based on your specifications:
      SOG Flash I FSA7-CP ($34.99)
      www.knifehog.com/sog-flash-i-folding-knife-straight-edge-satin-fsa7-cp.html
      This knife features a discreet 2.5”, AUS-8 steel blade and a strong GRN handle that will provide your hand with an incredibly sturdy grip. What we like most about this knife is Sog’s Assisted Technology and the piston lock that is associated with it. Deploy the razor sharp blade in a pinch when you need it and then lock it up with the confidence that it will not prematurely deploy in your pocket. This is our #1 choice for anyone looking for a compact assisted open pocket knife with a tough blade under 3”!
      Kershaw Scallion 1620OL ($41.99)
      www.knifehog.com/kershaw-scallion-aluminum-olive-drab-knife-1620ol-1998.html
      Featuring an extremely compact structure and 2 ¼” blade, this a great choice for a pocket knife. The blade is constructed of a very tough 420HC steel and this knife is fitted with kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism. We suggest this one because it’s tough enough to handle all types of everyday cutting tasks but is compact enough to slip your pocket without it feeling uncomfortable. Definitely worth the money.
      CRKT Heiho 2900 ($35.99)
      www.knifehog.com/crkt-heiho-knife-2900.html
      Although the blade is at 3”, We’re suggesting it because it features a razor sharp AUS 8 steel blade, a dual grind modified tanto tip and a polished G-10 handle for a comfortable grip. CRKT’s patented AutoLAWKS mechanism keeps the blade tight and in place while the OutBurst technology flings the blade open in a quick and smooth manner.
      We hope you like these recommendations and don't forget: If you purchase one of these, or any other knife on our site, get 10% off with the discount code WELCOMEBACK!

After looking into this further, we've found that if you do want to own a knife like this in Australia, you will need to obtain a permit and there will still be restrictions. Although, there are certain folding knives, non spring assisted ones, that are legal to own in this country. Thank you for your question and we hope this helps!

      None. And as far as customs are concerned if it can be opened with one hand no matter the type of folder or if its legal in your state they will confiscate it and send you a letter threatening legal action if you try and import a prohibited weapon again. Spring Assisted knives, sometimes called assisted opening knives, are the types of folding knives. These knives are the multipurpose knives that can serve multiple tasks, including self defense. Here are the eight reasons that determine that these knives must be your preferred choice.

    A fucking half serrations half tanto SCHRADE made the list of the top 10 best spring assisted knives higher than fucking benchmade and the kershaw leek.....
    Did you guys have this list in reverse or something?!!?!

      I have the Schrade and it is pretty good. It only costs $30-$64

      Evan N I have never owned a Schrade that didn't feel like a swap meet knife. Chinese knockoffs (ganzo, enlan, sanramu) have surpassed them in quality at a lower price point and that's sad to say about an american based company.

      I just picked up a schrade knife from Smoky Mountain knife works, I bought it for several reasons, but mainly because the blade is ceramic...I know you guys are saying that fucking guy's a idiot. I payed a whole $6 for it, and have literally given it hell, it's edge retention is amazing, its almost as if the ceramic was mixed with a type of metal. Hell. it looks like a steel blade, but isn't...Schrade is just like many knives, you win some, you lose some...but I don't leave home without my Spyderco Paramilitary 2, ok I'm done rambling now....

    None of these are spring assisted, they all use a tension bar that causes the knife to open very quickly not a spring. They are called assisted opening knives not spring assisted

      wtf are you talking about? quit talking out your ass cause you don't no shit! obvs you don't have any of these knives or you wouldn't have made a comment like that!. more then half the knives on this list are spring assisted and yes have spring coils in them! including the number 1 benchmade barrage. there's like one knife on that list with a torsion bar but there still referred to as spring assisted or assisted opening.

      Ben Ritchie Blur is good for the money. That was one of my first spring assist knives. But after owning Benchmade I know what an extra $100-150 will get you. Super high quality and a company who stands behind their products.

    I'm my opinion I like a knife without a thumb stud a comfortable blade stopper without any teeth like how a old knife that I used to widle with had the realise on the back that you push down a it let go of the blade but I can understand the blade shown on the video they all look like they could help in alot of problems

      yes, most states would like you to have a valid hunting or fishing license to own them though, I'm a hunter so i never really worry about the validity of my circumstances

      you ppl that keep saying tac force are brutal! they are the shitiest knives going! a 5$ knife doesn't belong on a list with a 200$ benchmade barrage

    • @agimasoschandir
      @agimasoschandir 8 лет назад

      How is price a determination of quality with knives? $5 is probably how much it cost Benchmade to make a knife before they mark it up for the consumer that uses false word of mouth to buy instead of actual quality.
