I just bought a QSP penguin and a Bestechman. I carry them way more than my Benchmade and Emerson’s. The quality of these cheaper knoves is better than the expensive ones from years ago. lol.
I've gotten more into fixed blades lately. I like bucks pac lite series. A great knife for about $40. So a good value also....,slim and light weight as well . I've carried one for about a year and it's still sharp
I'm in a fixed blade phase. I have a bunch. I'm waiting for a Buck Selkirk to show up so I can carry it scout position, on the DL at work. I've been carrying a multi tool and a utility knife but I miss have a good blade on me. I know you know the feeling.
Ha! I just watched the vid on it too. CJRB are some crooks. Anyone that isn’t honest about something small has no problem lying about something bigger. People can hate on Gerber, but when they stamp USA or S30v, it’s exactly what you get.
CJRB IS KILLIN’ it these days! The Pyrite/lite/Xl/Mini (every version), Hectare, Ekko, etc - the thumb hole in the blade though…AMAZING WITH a button-lock (Pyrite) but TOO SMALL on any crossbar lock knife!!! looking at YOU HECTARE!!!! I want to edc that knife. I love it, super simple and clean knife- the AR-RPM steel is actually surprisingly great BUT THAT THUMBHOLE IS TOO DAMN NARROW AND SMALL!!!!
I want the new Hectare but it looks just like the Pyrite Alt lol. I already have that. Why would I get the same thing? Lol, just my opinion. Looks way better though.
It’s always a race the the Amazon box when there’s a ring at the door. Or else my wife would just punch it open with her hands. Only chance I really get to use one of my knives 😅
So apparently AR-RPM9 isn’t powder formed and the name is very misleading Edit- This is all according to Larin Thomas’s new video in which you can watch yourself it is basically comparable to 9CR/440c
In artisan's defense, they only claimed it to be a powdered form of 9cr18mov in the first place. No it is not powdered metallurgy but it also isn't traditional ingot 9cr. Spray form is somewhere between. Thank you knife steel nerds for bringing this to light.
Would seriously check out the Icon Knife sold at HF. 40 bucks. Even less with a coupon. D2 Steel, G10 handle, Ceramic bearing. And has a lifetime no questions asked warranty
Just got one for myself and my oldest daughter. Feel really good in the hand and it is wicked sharp out the box . The ceramic bearings are really smooth. Love the knife . Looking forward to seeing how well it holds up.
Couldn't find my hatchet...I battoned with my RAT 2 In D2....which sat unused for years. It took a beating well, performing above my expectations....I touched it up, them strop....seems sharp again. Only a few minor dents on spine. Luckily it was a softer wood I was dealing with
Any help or advice, I’m looking for a One handed opening Swiss Army knife (or styled knife.) with a 3” blade. I would like both a locking version and slip joint version. (Would ideally like a choil on the slip joint for safety but could even add that myself.) I’ve only found a Swiza, but they don’t ship to my country. The Boker Tech tools would be great, but they don’t offer a one handed opening version with blows my mind as it’s more of modern styled tool. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
The Victorinox Trekker series fits the bill for a locking version (I think they're carryover models from when they swallowed Wenger back in the early 00's). I don't think they do a slipjoint version as the backspring tension makes one-hand opening difficult... or the backspring too flaccid.
I just seen a beautiful slip joint CIVIVI for $69 USD. I think that's how I worded it lol. $69; here in America lol. It was on Amazon. I can go find the name of you'd like. I didn't want to lose ya. Figured I'd put this first.
Swiss style I'm not sure if you mean tool wise but CIVIVI Sendy may be a great fit. Tweezers, liner lock, toothpick, one hand deployment. Looks great, I'm about to buy one I think. Lol,
I love Crkt but they are outrageous for charging that much for 8cr13mov, I trust spyderco 8cr because they have such good heat treatment but can’t Crkt just boot it up to something like d2?
Same but replaced guns with axes - I can’t stop buying knives and axes - new and vintage - my family thinks I’m restoring them to sell them LOL. They’re now part of the collection LOL
Yeah so apparently AR-RPM9 is just spray formed 9cr. Not powder form at all. As I understand it from Larrin Thomas’ video - it’s has a finer grain structure than regular ingot 9cr but it isn’t nearly as fine as a true powder metallurgy steel. Sooooo.. not so great CJRB/Artisan
I just bought a QSP penguin and a Bestechman. I carry them way more than my Benchmade and Emerson’s. The quality of these cheaper knoves is better than the expensive ones from years ago. lol.
as some one that isn't part of the community I know this channel is good because this video has literally 0 dislikes
Kershaw had great options around 50 or so, I’ve noticed a few Civi’s as well… love it

Watching this video at work, fidgeting with my QSP Penguin as he pulls my exact one out 😅👌
We (I) need more fixed bladesss!!!
Buy a TOPS FDX 66? 🥺👉👈
@@Leftyotism Though I'm not a Tops fan, I agree. You'll save $500.00 from not buying a Benchmade.
@@mistersmith3986 I got 1 TOPS knife, and it's the FDX 66. I love their steel. Will get their Rocky Mountain Spike next! 🥰

CJRB's AR-RPM9 is not a powder steel-it's a spray form steel
Lmao i just thought that. I just saw the steel nerds vid on it.

But isn’t powder coating sprayed on? Lol😂
Do you have a link that explains the difference?

I LOVE CJRB !

Edit- This is all according to Larin Thomas’s new video in which you can watch yourself it is basically comparable to 9CR/440c
That is a great video!
That's right, according to Knife Steel Nerds, it's identical to 9Cr with a little extra cobalt, and it's spray formed, not powder metallurgy.
I’m here after just watching that. Highly recommend everyone check it out.
Was just about to comment this, watched Larrins new video right before this

Swissmade for $30-$40 makes a pretty sick knife
"Bruh why do you have such knives man, why would you need those."
"Uhm, I work at Blade HQ."
"Oh, okay."
I'm looking for alternatives for Kizer Doberman, can somebody help? I like the design - the blade is lover then handle.
I know it is not $50, but I like the CJRB Pyrite XL.

Gerber has a one handed pliers/knife multi tool. Otherwise doubt it from vict

What's a good keister knife under $50?
There's a poop knife joke in there somewhere
Powder steel: You keep using this word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Can I have one
Under $50? Around $50 is what it should say. Still some good deals.
He said you can find them at under $50

Any of these knives made in America?
No

Respect the Imam
Ar rpm9 is not powder metalurgy
