The Djokovic that showed up at the finals of the ATP finals last year could not only have beaten Sinner, but he actually did. Want to say Sinner is even better than a year before? Okay. But Djokovic beat Sinner quite decisively in that match so perhaps it'd be a close match if you argue that Sinner is playing better now than a year ago, but certainly Djokovic in that form would've stood a chance no doubt.
I’m soo glad ATP is already using video review for double-bounce calls. It’s always been ridiculous when we have the technology nowadays but was not able to maximize it. Glad it’s being used now.
Wow Fritz's fourth win in a row over Zverev. He has found the formula of staying with Zverev as long as he can and then applying pressure right at the crunch time...produced some brilliant tennis in the important moments.
Everyone assumes Jannik is going to steamroller Taylor. I think a Jannik win is the most likely - but Taylor has got to the semis at Wimbledon, the final at USO, the final of the Year End, beating the world #2 *_four_* times in a row in so doing. He's in the final for good reason
sure..the final can go either way...just Fritz has to be perfect, and serve over 70%of first serves...at least...and well is "tricky" to play the same opponent twice ( last year Djokovic lost the first match but won the final) just Sinner looks very "solid" we will see
Jannik will still win easily tomorrow. Only person who could’ve challenged him realistically was Alcaraz because of their h2h. No disrespect to Taylor but Sinner was the one who defeated him in the USO final and in the group stages of Turin without losing a set. Sinner is a monster on Indoor hard courts and with the finals being played in Turin, you would think that he is going to steamroller Taylor.
I think on clay/grass probably not so well, but hard courts, I don't know man you are right he is so impressive I think the big 3 beat his ass when at there !absolute! best, but on the long run his consistency would make him winning more than loosing I assume

Great game between Zverev and Frits. Sinner right now seems to be in a league of his own. Extremely powerful shots and with the precision to hit them from various angles on the court. He played like a machine today.
i mean, I feel like people tend to be surprised at how much more important strengths are then weaknesses in tennis. Tsitsipas was top 3 for like 3 years straight and look at his backhand and return. But he was able to use his world class serve and forehand combination to win despite those.
@@zweigackroyd7301 it is sufficient for you to disagree with my comment and raise a counter argument without questioning how much I “play or follow” tennis. That is unnecessary and doesn’t add to the conversation. Setting that aside, what is your opinion of Ruud’s backhand? Do you think it’s even an average backhand relative to the backhands in the top 100? If so, why do you think that way? I am genuinely curious.
@ fair point. But he’s still won 12 titles, over $20M in prize money, made it to world #2, made 3 GS finals and is the best Norwegian player in history. I’d rate that as a little better than a “good career” but reasonable minds can disagree. Still, he did it all with a fairly unremarkable backhand. I think that’s impressive.

Ruud had his chances in the first set. But Sinner just rose to the occasion every time... Alcaraz now clearly falling behind; Sinner is indisputably the best player this year... 2025 should be a banner year for tennis...

I wouldnt want to play against Sinner, he's unplayable right now. Lets just see for how long he can be above everyone else like that, but im glad for him.
Sinner’s movement this year belies his lanky frame. His defense is approaching Novak levels. That’s what he and Alcaraz have over their peers. Zverev has the defense and the potential for offense but doesn’t quite have the killer mentality to use his offense in the key moments the way Carlos and Jannik do. Medvedev has the defense but not the offense, and everyone else is just a step below them. Novak is now the wild card A joy to watch Alcaraz and Sinner at their peak Also major congrats to Fritz for his 4-0 record against Zverev this year and stopping him twice at majors and now once at the YECs. Esp impressive this last victory considering Zverev was in top form
Sinner tweaked his game and mindset a bit after a chat with Sharapova - at their level, skill wise almost everyone are more or less equal, it’s the minute details and epiphany that makes the champion (and of course putting them into real action). So kinda thanks to her for being a positive influence (no pun intended 😂) to his game approach
Just when we thought we won't see domination like some certain BIG-3 seasons. Sinner now will be having a similar year to 2013 Rafa (which was maybe his second best due to him winning 3 slams in 2010, but level-wise, it was the best probably). Bro the modern players have the same playstyle no great quality serve and volley variations Roger in his prime would have smoked this one dimensional play which sinner has which is basically hitting the ball hard and deep consistently not much mix up and switch up. Prime Federer would have mixed up the game 10 different ways in a match
@@hindolbanerjee560 alcaraz has more variety than federer and alcaraz would have lost to this level of sinner....federer doesn't use drop shots as often as alcaraz....he rather tries to come to the net more....federer lobs are also not as good as alcaraz.....alcaraz has far more variety and is far more unpredictable than federer....but he is also more inconsistent than federer...
Well done Jannik! 👍😍
Sinner is on another level.
I’m soo glad ATP is already using video review for double-bounce calls. It’s always been ridiculous when we have the technology nowadays but was not able to maximize it. Glad it’s being used now.
Forza Sinner! Let's take the trophy to finish off the season on high
Fritz is playing really well. I think 5 and 4
Fritz got beaten by Musetti in the QF of Wimbledon
Wish Sinner played against the Big 3 in their prime. Really curious to know how he would have performed
I think on clay/grass probably not so well, but hard courts, I don't know man you are right he is so impressive I think the big 3 beat his ass when at there !absolute! best, but on the long run his consistency would make him winning more than loosing I assume
@@nicolasdublac7915the big 3 is extremely consistent sinner is just great for a year lmao wait 10 years to make a statement like this lol
@@edddzw7430 Ok so let's wait.
I prefer to watch Alcaraz playing personally but whatever, I think Sinner won't get away from the top 1-5 for many many years.
At this point Fritz got Zverev's number
FINALLY! A comment NOT about the Sinner match! THANK YOU!
Zverev vs Fritz was neck and neck, super high quality from both players with so many breakpoints being saved, just insane! And as usual, our guy Sinner is in a league of his own!
Sinner playing Djokovic 2011 level right now 🔥🇮🇹😎
Sinner is like a machine. The level of tennis is just out of this world. It's going to be sinners decade for sure.
Looks like Sinner will become the first player to win the year-end championship without dropping a set since Ivan Lendl in 1986.
....or Novak Djokovic in 2018
@@TheNeoGriot djokovic lost against zverev in 2018
Impressive run. Hopefully, he does not get suspended from this year's doping case.
Great stat wow thanks for sharing that I wouldn’t have thought it’d been that long
@lorenzogirardi6203 Apologies. Novak was the last to reach the final without dropping a set.
Good job American from California! Good Luck!
Every time one thinks Zverev is flawless and will go on and lift the trophy, this happens. Poor guy.
99% of comments are about Sinner vs Ruud
Idk why I feel so proud watching sinner win 😊
Sinner is definitely will be a future GOAT, Forza 🦊
What a killing machine that Sinner …
simply no one absolutely no one can presently match Sinner, he is in another planet. he should get his own ATP circuit to compete with only himself, and let the other players compete with each other have their own
Great game between Zverev and Frits. Sinner right now seems to be in a league of his own. Extremely powerful shots and with the precision to hit them from various angles on the court. He played like a machine today.
Being a fan of sinner from 2022 Wimbledon, I know how he evolved over the years. . After Roger Federer I love his dominance.
It's hard to believe, but I get the impression that Sinner, even at this point, is still continuously getting better and better.
6:30 "good luck in the final, good luck" 😂
yeah he's gonna need a lot of it
@@3r4kl3s definitely, hoping for a good match nonetheless
magnifico ❤mai visto un lob così preciso❤oltre che un atleta è un artista
With Sinner I do not enjoy anymore, matches are too short 😂
That‘s the same feeling I had with Federer.
So true..Jannik was just “too good in all departments..”
That was videogame tennis from Sinner!
Forza Jannik 🟩⬜🟥🏆🔥
Camp Alcaraz. After that stellar performance I am grateful, that Sinner started his carrier late, so my boy could win some trophies.
lol
Sounds like someone is going to change the camp soon.
Hence, he couldn’t win Fo and wimby this year. Not to mention his endurance being so low at wimby against Medvedev’s endurance
I love Zverev's remark - Good luck in the finals
It's impressive to me that Ruud has been able to have a fantastic career and accomplish so much with such a meh backhand.
i mean, I feel like people tend to be surprised at how much more important strengths are then weaknesses in tennis. Tsitsipas was top 3 for like 3 years straight and look at his backhand and return. But he was able to use his world class serve and forehand combination to win despite those.
Yes he has had a good career but let's not forget his biggest title is a 500
So what you're saying is you don't play or follow tennis much if you think that's a "meh" backhand.
Sinner has been setting up new benchmarks everytime, inspiring others players to level up their game as well 🎾 An absolutely feckless performance, literally crushing his opponents in the matches! 🔥🔥
Do you know the meaning of the word "feckless"?
Ruud is verryyyyyyyy Humble 😊
Amazing sinner he is a class above all
Sinner is like prime Djokovic. Solid groundstrokes and minimal amount of unforced errors. And not to mention the signature stretch backhand shots.
These players are so incredibly good
Sinner is really really scary
Sinner simply unstoppable
Ruud had his chances in the first set. But Sinner just rose to the occasion every time... Alcaraz now clearly falling behind; Sinner is indisputably the best player this year... 2025 should be a banner year for tennis...
Honestly... these two storylines turned out to be really freaking good! ❤💪🏿💪🏿
The true tennis fan does not make comments from a football stadium. Being the favorite is one thing, giving up on a strong player is another. Anything can always happen, better to be respectful and cautious.
Sinner is on below 1.09 odds for all major bookmaker,, considering Ruud is also a top 10 player.. this is insane.. Sinner is purely on another level right now
Many players, in the first set, at 3-1 15-40, would later have had a very tough match. Sinner no, Sinner wins 6-1 6-2 lol
What a player Sinner has become. 🔥
What a huge pity we can't watch competing at their best Sinner Nadal Djokovic Federer. Would be all epic matches
Sinner is just incredible
I wouldnt want to play against Sinner, he's unplayable right now. Lets just see for how long he can be above everyone else like that, but im glad for him.
Bro, even the difference of level between world no. 1 and world no. 6 is crazy
Novak is now the wild card
A joy to watch Alcaraz and Sinner at their peak
Also major congrats to Fritz for his 4-0 record against Zverev this year and stopping him twice at majors and now once at the YECs. Esp impressive this last victory considering Zverev was in top form
Actually it's 4-1 in favour of Fritz this year.
They have played in Italy already this year and Zverev won in straight sets in Rome.
cruise control from start to close
hope sinner doesn't get too impatient rushing the net against fritz though. that might cause some issues
My god sinner is like a combiantion of djokovic and federer
exactly what I want to say!!
He hits the ball as hard as prime wawrinka off both wings .
Fritz would be just another opponent for Janik Sinner, i think the only player who can match this version of Sinner is fully fit Alcarez
11:22 that's poor from the crowd. They should be quiet!
Zverevs grunt in an indoor setting is hilarious
Ruud was a punching ball
Fritzy!! What a match. Must feel so good to beat Zverev after all talk this year
Sinner destroyed Ruud, but Ruud isn't as bad as they say.
It's Just Sinner...
Sinner is faster than anyone else, precise on the shots, defense, no mistakes.... It's very unlikely defeat at the moment.
Just when we thought we won't see domination like some certain BIG-3 seasons. Sinner now will be having a similar year to 2013 Rafa (which was maybe his second best due to him winning 3 slams in 2010, but level-wise, it was the best probably). I mean i don't see Fritz beating him, as well as the American is playing. It's impressive! And he can get even better, which is scary to think about!
Fritz tennis right now is at that level and today's performance prooves it. It will be a great final tomorrow. ..But as an Italian I hope Sinner wins.:)
3:24 What a moment
