He won his first ATP title before some of the players in the NextGen finals were born! Amazing athlete, and one of the coolest characters in all of sport.
From being 6-1 5-2 down against Pedro Martinez in the first round to winning the whole tournament! Even at 38 he's showing crazy fighting spirit and is a great example of why you should never give up
His tactic was actually clever: not giving time to Zizou, changing the quality of the ball he gave him, breaking his rhythm, he didn't allow him to play at his pace and to use the speed of the ball like he uses to.
Such a joy to see him lifting a trophy at 38! He may not have the same energy but he certainly has the experience and wherewithal to win trophies. All the best Monfils. Go go go!!

That means he still also has time to get to and set up for his shots. Others at that age and/or due to injury/surgery lose their movement, can't defend as well and make more errors since they can't setup and get to the ball in enough time like they used to.
I honestly wish that the TTV content creators would actually read the comments and quit making thumbnails that very clearly reveal who won the match. Seriously - would it be so difficult to do a split photo showing an action shot of both? C’mon - it’s not nuclear fission

Would love to see a bit more aggressive tennis from Monfils, often times when he has an advantage he settles back into a rally rather than pushing. It works well against players who will make errors but he needs to utilise his firepower to edge out the top guys. Still so talented, amazing win at 38!
