I would like to see in Sigma 24-35mm 1. More sharpness 2. Less contrast 3. Less chromatic abberation 4. Less Vigneting than in Canon 24-105, but i didn't see Real Picture Quality Difference.
Hi. I am getting C100 Mark II soon and was looking to get lens upgrade. After all the assessment I selected 24-105 STM since I use autofocus but after the lens comparison at digital picture I decided against it. I did not think it will improve a lot of video quality from 24-105 STM in comparison to 18-55 STM and 55-250 STM (other than good range in one lens). So I decided to get a lens to fulfill my other need i.e. low light shooting. I need 35mm at full frame settings with fast aperture so the two lens which I short listed are Sigma 24-35mm F2 OR Sigma 24mm F1.4 since C100 crop factor is 1.5x. 24-35 zooming is not big but still would be helpful for indoor recording. Although 1.4 is faster for 24mm prime but 2 is also acceptable, however, one of the reason I am more inclined towards 24mm 1.4 is that there is some lens distortion in 24-35 when shooting at 24mm. Secondly at f.2, 24mm prime is more sharp.(Can't afford canon 24mm 1.4). Do you have any advice for selection. Only reason why I did not put Sigma 18-35 in my list is being APS-C. In future I might get full frame DSLR so was thinking on long terms.

I'd Take THIS lens over any 24-70mm f2.8

which has rounder bokeh? the sigma 35mm 1.4ef ,18-35mmef or 24-35ef?
witch ever one has more iris blades. The more blades, the smoother the circle of the bokeh.
I think there is no real difference between Sigma 24-35 and Canon 24-105 for picture quality, the only main difference is f2 VS f4.
What is no need!
What is no need!?
+Merkar Productions ive tried both, picture quality of the sigma is superb, its like a prime sigma art lens, the canon is not as sharp as you think
legit
I don't see the point in that short of a focal length for a zoom especially with the 18-35 already out unless it's made for a full frame
the 24-34 is for full frame and the 18-35 is for crop sensor hope that helps
DC = Crop Sensor APSC Cameras
DG= Full Fram
I will just keep my sigma 18-35 f/1.8 :)
