This is one of my favorite words "hermosa" in Spanish means beautiful.. I just like the way it looks , they say the most beautiful word in the English dictionary is "cella" well to me "HERMOSA" IS LIKE THAT WORD BUT IN SPANISH TO ME...💯 THANK YOU FOR LISTENING SANKEY.. ALSO AN AWESOME MAGIC TRICK I'M GOING TO USE THIS IN MY ARSENAL THIS TRICK IS AWESOME!!
That bit about taking magic seriously and explaining the details is why I've been following you for so long. This is phenomenal by the way. Totally fooled me too! Thanks for sharing!
My favorite word is gratitude. It is such an important word and an important act. To sincerely show gratitude to all who come in and out of your life (good or bad) for all they have done to influence you. Gratitude is not shown enough in this crazy world. Thank you Jay for all you do.
My favorite word is paradox. I've always enjoyed puzzles and mysteries and I became fascinated with quantum theories such as Schrödinger's cat at an early age. The thought concept of a paradox is one of my favorite mysteries because of how ambiguous(2nd favorite word) it can be.
Discombobulate is my favourite word because it is the opposite of combobulate but we never use that word, we only use the inverse. I have learned from you for 20 years, the best thing you ever made for my education was a little book discussing the art of magic. It didn't even have a trick, it was just the art form and it was the thing that defined me as a professional magician. Even years later, long after changing careers, every time I perform an illusion, it is never a trick, it is always magical. Thank you good sir. I lost that book a long time ago but I carry it's lessons forever.
OK JAY, Ready for this.... Exactamundo... I first heard this from Fonzie (Happy Days) but actually stood out to me more when Samuel L Jackson said it in Pulp Fiction... his voice, his demeanor.... he just makes just about anything sound badass.
My favorite word is Hiraeth (pronounced here - ith ) It's welsh for a sad longing for something lost. The thing I love about it is, it's not something that can be directly translated because it's a welsh word that is an emotion as much as it is a word. It reminds me of magic and why I love performing, we create an emotion as much as something visible, a moment that can't be translated any other way then at that moment in time.
My favourite word is perseverance. It means a lot to me because it inspires me to never give up and always keep going. It is a big part of my magic and I like to theme it around this.
Cinque, (five in Italian) is one of my favorite words. For whatever reason when my wife and I went to Italy, it was a word that we both loved and said a lot and now it just brings back memories of that trip whenever I hear or say it.
Great video Jay. I guess my favorite is personality. It's something a performer must present to onlookers and something I look for in potential assistants'.
My favourite word is magic it is not just a word for me because I live magic I have performed in many birthday parties magic show and now it is just a part of my life ❤️ just love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐈
You fooled me so hard, although I suspected you had it in your hand, I never notice you getting it there. And amazing illusion. One of my favorite words is “excelente.”
Hi Jay, thank you for all the brilliant magic videos/tutorials. I am a huge fan and have learnt a lot from you. Can I just ask why you delete some of your tutorials after a few days?
I’ve been a subscriber for …wow…I can’t remember… but it’s years…came here initially to learn from a master about coin magic…but what I didn’t get at the start was that I was also witnessing a master of communication…and a wonderful storyteller…..I’m currently doing a Masters in Leadership and Management and the more I come back to pursue my magic passion, the more I realise that so many of the things that I am discovering are the traits and qualities you have been teaching me for years. The penny dropped when you mentioned the reason for your trip to San Francisco. You are a teacher my friend, a teacher of wonderful illusions, a teacher of communication and a teacher of the skills that if we can adopt them will make us all happier and more productive. Wish I could afford to book you to talk to my colleagues in the U.K because I know they would learn as much as I have. Thank you Jay 🙏
Discombobulate - Just a fun word to say which means to confuse things which is exactly what happens when you use the word in a sentence. Also was the name of the theme to Sherlock holmes - amazing movie and tune, my favourites 😀
Jay, I think the favorite word for each person is their own name. If I'm performing for someone, I like to use their name. It makes them py more attention to the trick and makes it so much more personal when you use their name in a trick. And I was named "MagicBill" by a former employee when he learned I did magic.
I think my favorite word is perception. Because everyone has a different perception. Everyone will see the world differently. Magicians use perception as a key in magic to unlock a world of possibility’s
Perseverance...that is my favorite word. It was the name if my graduation project and for me it means that i keep trying till i make things work...i am a Biomedical Engineer, so keeping this word in mind helps me a lot in my career and life.
My favourite word is “grá” which is Irish for love. Many Irish people, myself included, use it as a loan word when speaking English too, e.g. “I have a bit of a grá for performing on stage!”
That was very awesome I’ve been doing magic for 15 years and going and it is very true that The simplest tricks are the best that’s what gets the most people 😮 🤫
My favorite word is Personify. The syllables roll off the tongue smoothly and the definition is about giving life to something that ordinary wouldn't have it. So artistic and fun!
Jay, Dig being one of your students. You helped me get into card magic,... years ago, I had developed a couple of card tricks myself to sarcastically homage card tricks because everytime I bought put the cards, spectators rolled their eyes,... And I thought card tricks were pase' My favorite word is miscombobulate as a performer I will use made up words to verbally misdirect the audience. It works for me. Thanks for being a great direct teacher in the arts.
My favorite word is spooky. As a paranormal investigator, I'm usually going in to spooky situations, but at the same time, some magic can be spooky as well.
😍 thank you Jay for the video one of my favorite words is beautiful, why is because it is such a great word for describing something that you find super amazing or attractive
One of my favorite words is Exacerbate, firstly because of the sounding of the word and secondly the definition, which means basically to make a situation worst than before. 👍🏽
My favourite word is Daijoubu - Which is Japanese. It’s such a simple word and can mean so many things: “I’m alright/okay.” “Are you alright/okay?” “Is that alright/okay?” “It’s no problem.” “It’s okay.” “Don’t worry about it.” - The list goes on. Just one word can be used to convey so many different meanings. Mind blowing.
I love linguistics but my favorite word would have to be the Norwegian word "fioler" meaning violets. Said correctly it sounds quite beautiful and it always reminds me of the song "roses are red" by bobby vinton, which is nostalgic for me.
My favorite word is the German „Danke“. Such a simple „Thanks“ must be so painful for lots of people they can’t say it. I say Danke for all the tutorials, you provided. I can assure, the little „Thank You“ doesn’t hurt at all. For those, being afraid of saying it, give it a try 😉👍🏻
Jay, I absolutely love the psychology in your lessons... but I'm sure I've said that already. 💥... Favorite word : Tolkien... for all the reasons and images it brings. Childhood, books, getting lost in high adventure, dragons and of course, Led Zeppelin. The band that sang of Celts and Hobbits. 🤟
My favourite word is "undulate". The way the word travels through the mouth, with the tongue and lips moving in such a familiar fashion while making such a foreign sound. It almost feels like a made up word because no other word in the English language combines these sounds and syllables. Also a very satisfying word when you can drop it in conversation. Undulate.
The seagulls and truck had me cracking up, Jay`s impromptu skills on point today. P.s my favourite word is called Han, its the feeling you get when you hear Chopins Prelude Op 28 No 4, best way to explain it is a sense of hopefulness that transcends the depth of any sadness in your soul.
@@SankeyMagic Haha thanks. Another awesome word is Queue because it has 4 silent letters, which makes no sense. The silent letters are like all the invisible steps in a magic trick which nobody sees that makes the feat seem impossible.
Favorite word- Progressive I lost by dog 6 months ago in a car accident, I was devastated for many weeks. But now when I look back I find some grief but in life we can't do anything except move on. So the 'progressive'.
I think one of my favourite words would have to be Doppelgänger. There's something I like about the sound of it, and that there's two p's, two e's and two g's in a word meaning double.
My favourite word in English is “Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolca nonoconiosis” because it is the longest English word and has 45 letters and I learnt it when I was a school kid and I was never scared of long words after learning this word!!!!!😄😄😄
German has a bunch of words not found in any other language. Zeitgeist is an example. My favourite one though is "Habseligkeiten" which translates to "belongings" but literally means something like "things that make you blissful".
This is too late I’m sure to win your contest and it doesn’t even follow your rules for the contest, but I don’t follow rules. My favorite word in all the languages is “T-Shirt Collection”! I didn’t even know this until watching your RUclips channel for a while…you never wear the same one twice! Awesome dude.
My favorite word in scrabble and why…. This is a difficult question for me because I don’t play scrabble often. I suppose that if I were playing the game and it looked like I was going to win, especially with this particular word, it would have to be “winner” and the reason I say this is because I think it would be next to impossible for everything to work out so that I could actually win with this word. Can you just imagine placing the pieces down spelling exactly what is happening? Being the winner of the game. That’s my favorite scrabble word but only if the stars and planets are lined up for me to actually win the game. Anyway thanks so much for your work and inspiring videos. I haven’t been able to watch as much as I would like to lately but I’m back now and ready to learn more from you. Thanks Jay
Thank you!... I just used this reveal in the drive through. Had her mark a quarter, did a simple vanish. While palming the coin, I took the cards out of the case & even showed her the empty card case... Pouring it into her hand got a gasp from her boss. I thought I'd share lol

My favorite word is probably a regional word, that I heard growing up. Cattywampus. It means if something is not straight or square, like if a picture on a wall is hanging a little cattywampus.
Zebra and the reason why ebra are good letters to have with the letter z and no one ever thinks about the word. They are careful not to leave an o exposed so you can not put zoo. The letter B not so much. With the letters r and a common it is a perfect word to place down. Plus there is a lot of smugness that goes with it. Thanks for keeping your channel alive. All the best from across the water in the UK. Your first statement was correct I learned slight of hand with cards first. Now I use a lot of self working magic. I find with tricks that work themselves you can just chat more as a distraction. The more levels you do and the longer you chat equals they connect the dots.
My favorite word is ”Accordion”. I live in Sweden and here it’s called ”Dragspel”, it’s an tradition here in Sweden to play it. But it’s an old tradition so teenagers don’t play it, but I do so all my friends call me ”Dragspelspojken” ”The accordion boy”. Either way, I love the english word for it, accordion, it sounds so good. Does it not sound pretty magical. Have a nice day everybody and take care! Much love from Sweden 😁. Ps does somebpdy have a suggestion for a trick I could perform with my accordion?

I would say my fav. word has to be Entropi, cause it is the opposit of Redundant.
Even if redundant dont nesseary have to refere to something beeing to repetative or to obvious, its more fun to not knowing what is going to happen =)
Otherwise I am a sucker for this old typ of written Swedish, cause there were such of "respect" for the language:
'All form av missbruk beivras', 'Maskinen får endast framföras av auktoriserad chaufför Annars erfordras böter',
'[... ] varpå säkringen spränges'
But on the same side, you gotta love the spoken slang of Söders höjder. 'Kalle knäckte doran me lädre' (Kalle hade sönder fönsterrutan med fotbollen) - Kalle broke the window with the football.
'Snajdiga skodon' (Snygga pjucks/skor) - Those are some good looking shoes.
