My favorite audience are actually restaurant patrons. So many things in a restaurant available for impromptu tricks which in my opinion are some of the most jaw dropping.
I grew up performing in restaurants and bars. So many natural, organic 'mini stages.' And they are trapped, stuck in their chairs until I decide to leave. I too love the flexibility, the improvised vibe, epic. MISS IT.
Being a bartender, definitely strangers at bars and people at work; though honestly, the nieces and nephews are truly the best audience one could ask for.
For me it's grandparents and my friends or kids who are younger than me. because it makes them happy and they give genuine reactions. And the smiles are also very affectionable.🥰
My greatest joy is doing magic from my family and especially my four granddaughters. The look of awe on the faces is priceless. All of the older one (4 and 5 year olds) are starting to do magic for their friends and family!

My favorite audience would be the FISM judges or maybe also the judges of the AGT finals 😉 Strangely I did not have the opportunity to amaze them yet 🧙♂️
I love performing for geriatrics. Two reasons... one, I belong to this group. Two, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing that look of astonishment when an older individual sees incredible magic.

I have met many people, and broke my shyness, by approaching people at a bar and perform a quick opener. Not just girls either. Many of them have been with a guy so my approach isn’t construed as a pickup. The 3 coin trick and any with the cye stebin set? Are my go to’s. I once met a guy, he had an ace of spades shirt on. He was handicapped. I approached him. “I see you like cards” I said. I then pulled out my “invisible deck” set up cards. I told him to think of a card, not the Ace of spades cuz that’s too obvious. He mentioned a card. The card he said was the only one face down. The smiles on his and his mother’s faces lit the room. I then broke the cardinal rule. I showed him how to do the trick and gave him the deck.
I love performing for my grandkids. If you are not practiced enough and make a mistake, they are easier to misdirect so you can recover, though as they get older they are getting sharper and harder to fool. This will definitely make me work harder on my tricks before I perform them.
The best place for me to perform is in school for the students and teachers bcoz they might have not seen one perform magic and their reaction is priceless ❤️
I honestly enjoy performing for my family and friends. My dad was the person who got me interested in magic so when I do a mind blowing effect he really likes it. That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy performing for other people. I do. However I must feel absolutely and completely comfortable with the trick before I’ll do it for unknown people
I’ve worked in bars and nightclubs as security. To help people feel more comfortable around bouncers or security I like to have a few tricks on my person to show the customers. It seems like they really enjoy themselves more and I get to make new friends

My favorite people to perform for are the friends of my children. My kids see it all so much, they are hard to impress. But they love being like, "Dad, show her the one where the card ...". And they are still 10 and under and have great reactions. I like the biddle steal in general. Your take here is so simple. As is the false count. Excellent ideas and subtleties.
My favorite is an impromptu spectator like in a doctor's office or on a plane. I'll be sitting their practicing false cuts, basically do my Ambitious Card routine. Soon, someone will be staring trying to figure out what I'm up to. Without saying a word, I'll show them a card (usually a joker that I managed to randomly cut to , then slip it into the deck (tilt move), then do a double to show their card. Etc, etd, on and on, show how each time the card must be well into the deck. I do the entire routine from across the room or the several seats away on a plane. Always a great reaction.

I like to perform for my friends. It's always great to show them some simple things that they may know how to do, then throw in a trick that looks similar to the effect and have them confused and begging to learn. (I absolutely enjoy teaching so very much so I really only perform for a small group of people who love to learn and it doesn't "ruin" things for them.)

I like being a suprise guest during a stand up comedy show. The fact that no one is expecting magic in the show adds a level of suprise.
I've done the same thing. There's just something so cool about NOBODY even knowing what you are about to do even as you take the stage.
