From watching your videos, I've created a similar setup. But I went with Scotty products because I had a bunch of rod holder accessories leftover from my boat and it was cheaper to keep everything the same, instead of buying a whole new set of Ram products. I used some adapters and extension arms to get my rods higher, and farther out to the sides. My rods are the ugly stick striper rods and the handles are so long, they were getting in the way of my legs. They're strong enough for big trout and catfish, but still work great trolling for kokanee.
I always appreciate the time you take to explain why you have added certain accessories and the part they play in successful fishing. I do have a question- When you travel with the kayak do you take off the "add-ons"? I find that I want to make it as easy as possible to get out on the water. Thanks again for all the content you post. Sincerely appreciated.
Thanks for the helpful video! I just got some of the accessories you were mentioning after going to look at your video on rigging the salty. It would be interesting to see a video of you setting up your kayak from the time you pull up to launching to learn what you leave on while traveling and any ways you have learned to minimize setup time.
I really like the low profile look of the single and double Lock-and-Load mounts from YakAttack but hate the very limited selection of actual rod holders from them. I ended up going with the Scotty dual t-bolt mounts and associated accessories. The single bolt Gear Head mounts from Scotty feel useless as they tend to unscrew themselves if mounted on the port side.
I only use my single bolt scotty mount for my fish finder. I made my own double t bolt mounts just before Scotty released theirs. I had to modify them a little because they're made for a different type of rail system. I also use 2 of the Scotty extension rods to get my rod holders out farther and up higher, away from my legs.
Is it important that the rack tracks be mounted on a flat surface or can they be mounted on a slight curve? will the RAM mounts have enough freedom of movement to allow RAM rod holder to sit upright?
I have never had issues with the plastic rails when using the dual t-bolt rod holders. I think the metal rails are unnecessary and expensive but they do look cool.
What battery do you use for your motor and on average how many hours does it last? Thanks in advance. Love the videos. Trying to get my 1st Kokanee off my kayak
Is the gear track you show at the beginning yak attack? I have a power boat but the gear track is giving me ideas but not sure which one is good one to buy for just the track?
Good video. Thanks for the clear demos and not having hectic music playing in the background.

T bolts for toilets match the gear tracks and are brass. They are what I use when building my own custom attachments.
That's an awesome bit of info.

I did not know about the dual t-bolts.
Great video! Excellent explanation. 👏

Do you have suggestions for night fishing light setups? Have you ever fished for Kokanee at night?
Never done the night Kokanee thing but want to this year
Tyler, do you happen to have a promo code for Ram mount?
Try "HICKS10"
That works!! Thank you!

Needs to be flat
What's your take on the plastic rails vs. metal rails?

This video should help address that question. ruclips.net/video/mbc2O6wxCXc/видео.html
I may have missed it but did you announce yet if you are doing a trip into BC this spring for Kokanee fishing?
Not this spring but this summer is a go. Working on funding at the moment
Can you give me a link to a dealer that sells gear tracks and most of the accessories you've shown.
He always post links in the description of the video. Hope that helps!
Yup all below. You might be able to save 10% using the code "HICKS10" if they forgot to deactivate it. LOL
@@spiltmilt now I know! Learn something every day. Thank you

No it's Old Town's stock track. RAM Mounts makes a similar one here rammount.com/products/rap-track-a9u
