My daughter literally asked, what did you do mom, you look great. Thank you! We miss you in Chicago.
Aww, I bet you do look great, you always have. I miss Chicago too!!
Did you use all the products suggested here?
@@Caroline-Ann1509 I did!
Yes, definitely a professional application. Nice to see refinement and a timeless look.
Wow, thank you so much!! ☺️❤️
I have to try this technique! Thank you so much for sharing ❤
It’s definitely a few more steps but totally worth it. I’ve been wearing the highlighter as a finisher lately and I’m just obsessed with it!
So glad I found you. I’m a new subscriber love your content. I’m obsessed.
That’s so awesome! Thank you!! 🥰❤️
Great tutorial! You look gorgeous
Thank you so much! ☺️🥰
Merci Jeannie, le rendu est très joli. Merci pour ces astuces😍😍😍
Thank you so much, Audrey!! I'm glad you are still finding my advice useful. Have a beautiful weekend!
Great tutorials!! Look at those views! I'm so glad to see, I've told a lot of friends about your page. Looking forward to learning more from you. Ty
Thank you SO MUCH!! I appreciate the support and I love making these videos. 💖💖
Wonderful video with great tips! 💖
Thank you so much! ❤️🙏
Cool stuff, Jeannie!
Thank you so much ❤
New sub here! I agree. A breath of fresh air on RUclips! Great ideas. Will be trying the foundation from Haus. I'm neutral and don't need a lot of coverage, but I've avoided foundation for years like a plague because cooler more neutral bases seem to always look caky or masked! I'm almost 70 and would love to see you give helpful tips for mature skin, too. Great video. ❤
Thank you for subbing! The Haus Labs foundation is so good and I’m also light/medium neutral!
I am working on securing a mature model for a tutorial soon, too!
Did you hear Scott Barns trick for mature under eyes?
It’s Aquafore lip balm under eyes 👀 I’m going to try it praying 🙏🏼 it works
@@Tia82377 huh. I have not heard of that. Interesting!!
@@Jeannie-Giannone it just came out I watched GABI HERE ON RUclips.. idk 🤷♀️ how well it’s Gonna work but Scott Barns does it on a live model with Very wrinkly mature Skin .. you should find the video and see

Agree!
@@Cat-no8ts thank you so so much ☺️
Mmm yess this is like the Guerlain Meteorites! That’s been my secret for years lol they add that subtle luminosity that isn’t glowy or dewy, rather a gorgeous satin blur. But this is a very good alternative! And cheaper lol although the meteorites will last you a LONG time!
I’ve heard such good things about those! I may have to check them out! But yes, the Sephora one is a better price point and it’s not “loose” so better for travel.
@@Jeannie-Giannone I’ve loved them and collected them for years!! I only used them on brides when I did makeup and I would depot them in smaller containers that would snap super well. It was a shame because the original container is SO beautiful, especially the newest one! AND, they would get mistaken for candies all the time!! 😂 so I had to depot. But for your personal use, they’re perfect. You should totally check them out! They’re stunning. 🤩
@@peachontopk um, YES. Thank you! I’ve been sleeping on them because I wasn’t sure how great they are. Thank you!
@@Jeannie-Giannone In my humble opinion, they are fabulous!! 👍😁 You’re so welcome 💖
They're amazing. Very expensive but so worth the money. I've never found any other product that is comparable. You won't regret buying them.
This is magic 😳👏🏽👏🏽
Oh my gosh THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for the recommendations! I always trust professional makeup artiste opinions! However Sephora in my country don't carry Rose Quartz, they do have something similar in pink, called Pink Splash. Not sure if it's the same though 🧐 can't wait to try it! 😻
I believe that is one of the shades of the luminizer. Weird that they don’t carry the rose quartz one. Pink is a great shade for fair to light skin tones and would probably work!
Just discovered your channel. Love! Just bought the Sephora powder and it is everything you say it is when applied lightly with a big soft fluffy brush…..gorgeous!
When I tell you it's a complete GAME CHANGER? Now I'm on the hunt for other options for various skintones! Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment 🥰❤

Love this! Please may I ask where you got your black top from? I’ve been looking for one like that for ages. Thank you xx
@target! They have the best tanks in all sorts of styles and they are super affordable!
Thank you
Thank you for watching!!!
Tysm for these tips Jeannie! Which shade of the Sephora luminizer do you think would look best on someone with an NC 37 skin colour? Thanks!😊💖
You’re so welcome! I would say probably the Sparkling Honey shade. You want something that will soften the face but not be too obvious and that shade seems like it would be the best for your skin tone
Beautiful! What powder, (in place of the Sephora one), would you recommend for over the age of 65?
The #HourglassCosmetics Ambient lighting powders! They are so finely milled and super light on the skin. I sometimes use those instead of the Sephora ones.
Hi, Jeannie, I just started watching your tutorials! Just lovely! Not only are you a professional makeup artist, you are upbeat, clear, and give simple thoughtful directions. Although 75 years old, I have always taken good care of my skin. And I must thank my Italian genes as well. Question: I have black eyebrows and would like to lighten them like yours. What should I or my hairdresser do? Do you do direct consultations online? Thank you.
Whenever I have had to lighten brows on set or for a shoot, I use facial bleach, which you would not use on the top of your head. The skin is completely different on the scalp vs the face. I would also consult with your hairdresser and see what they say. I'm not a certified cosmetologist so I don't want to tell you exactly what to do. But in the past, I've always used facial hair bleach to do it. PS: remember to do a patch test somewhere to make sure you don't have a reaction to the bleach!
You can use powder . I’ve seen another mua doing it and works like a charm
@@Kelly-pp1et I've used concealer on set as well. if the brows are already light, it works but if they are dark, it can make them look gray.
Glad I found you here on RUclips
Thank you so much!!
can't seem to get Sephora Collection Colorful Luminizer - Rose Quartz in UK! Just looked at some images/tests of it and it looks wonderful...
That’s so unfortunate! Can you get any of the other colors? I have to go back and get a few more for my kit to try!
@@Jeannie-Giannone glitzy gold, sparkling honey, pink flash & blinding bronze.
Just getting back into makeup after a long time not really using, I have some limitations including sensitive mature skin and an aversion to most scents (and a small budget!) - have enjoyed all the videos of yours that I have seen so far!
The one tip I can give anyone is: keep out of the sun! I have to physically cover up including my face outdoors, all year (another problem for make-up) and it's been like that for just over a decade, at my school reunion I got asked how I managed to look young and less wrinkly than most (aside from the tramlines from frowning)...
@@flashblackrabbit I would say iced pearl or sparkling honey if you’re fair to medium skin toned; glitzy gold if you’re deeper.
I also always try to cover up if I’m in the sun for an extended period of time. Spent my 20s loving the sun and I’m lucky it isn’t worse (thank you Italian genetics lol).
And thank you for the kind words. I appreciate them more than you know ❤️❤️
Nivea blue tin under my foundation.
That actually doesn’t surprise me. The Nivea is very emollient and balm-y. I may have to try that! ❤️
I love Nivea creme it's so underrated. I live in UK so we have this tin in most stores
@@manymoms920 I’ll definitely have to check it out for skin prep!
Hi, Wouldn't you do eye cream after your eyemakeup due to possibility of fallout?
Hi! I would do eye cream after if I was doing a heavier eye look, i.e. a smoky eye. For this tutorial, I kept the eye simple for timing and for the sake of showing the skin prep and application. Hence, I was able to apply the eye cream first.
Very interesting. How does it hold up to sweat? Think double wear.
I would definitely use a setting spray to set everything! That will definitely help
Hi Jeanie. I was wondering what is the best creamy cleanser for mature, dry skin? I'm glad I found your channel!
Do you want something that foams? Or more milky texture?
@@Jeannie-Giannone milky please and than you!
@@faith-mc8fe I really love the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser. It’s good for all skin types and doesn’t have a fragrance.

@@Jeannie-Giannone Thank you so much! You seem so knowledgeable and honest. I'm looking forward to your future videos!
Just found your channel enjoying the content. My question is you didn't use an SPF. Would you forego the moisturiser for the SPF. It's always a dilemma
I didn’t use spf for this tutorial but I always use it for everyday. This was more about showing technique and product for the look. If you do this look, use spf before the makeup but I would make sure that you wait at least 5 minutes to let it really soak in.
I don’t wear foundation but really wish I did when I go out. But how do I know what shade I am? I can’t buy a selection because it’s too costly. I’m 45. Any tips?
I would say to check out a place like Sephora or any dept store that has natural lighting (windows). That way you can get matched and then check the shade in natural light!
Does that luminizing powder work for women of color?
I would probably use the bronze or glitzy gold, depending on how deep your skin is. I plan on purchasing both and testing them on shoots in the next coming weeks because I DEF want options for deeper skin!
If those don’t work, I’ll definitely find something because I’m obsessed with the finish that powder gives. I know Hourglass cosmetics has gorgeous soft focus powders but I’m not sure how “global” they are.
When does the sunscreen come in?
You can do sunscreen between moisturizer and foundation. Just make sure to let it fully sink in before moving on to makeup! You might need to powder more because of that too.
What shade of the haus labs foundation are you using?
It’s linked in the description but it’s shade 160!
Thank you!
❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have that shade of rare beauty blush and it doesnt work for me no matter how many ways or products I use with it. it looks much better on you than me.
I’m so sorry to hear that. Is it fading on you or does it just not lay well? That could be an issue of skin prep!
It doesnt really show up on me too 😄 but i hv a few other shades, my favs being Happy and Joy. I love Rare Beauty liquid blushes, just need a tiny bit, blends well, lasts long too. Just gotta find the shade that works on yr skintone.
@@BabelSpeak yes! I know there is a shade that’s close to a red flush. Maybe try that one, as it seems the most pigmented?
Lovely, lovely look! I wish the lighting was better, though.
Thank you
I’m also a one woman show, so I’m doing my own editing and still learning. Thank you for the insight!
What if you do have oily skin? 😳
I would say to powder your face after moisturizer and sunscreen to matte the face and then continue with makeup. Use an oil free foundation and continue with the steps.
Lovely... costs of living are so high though, I simply cannot afford to look flawless at the moment.
I’m sorry to hear that.
Explore possibilities girl! There are always possibilities
@@citronmonet294 I love your optimism!
can you show us this same routine but with SPF added? i hope if you do add SPF, that you'd use mineral SPF. i understand chemical sunscreens tend to work under bases more easily, but i'm trying to avoid reactions from chemical sunscreens, hence my choice of mineral SPF
I’ll have to do some research to find a good mineral sunscreen that works well under makeup, but that is a great idea! Thank you ❤️
@@Jeannie-Giannone appreciate this so much!
No mention of sunscreen?
You can apply sunscreen between moisturizer and foundation but for this application, you must make sure the sunscreen is fully absorbed before moving on to makeup.
Sunscreen?
Not for this one. It was more about technique.
Where is your sunscreen?
I did not use sunscreen for this application in order to show how I would apply it if I was in a studio or for a red carpet. For everyday, I would apply the sunscreen between moisturizer and makeup, but make sure to work it into the skin very well and allow it to absorb.
I was eager to watch this but when your skin care did not include sun protection I thought, “This is not for me.” Having a flawless finish OVER sunscreen is what I need help with.
I totally get it! I will definitely consider that in the future because many of you have mentioned it. For this look, I would make sure to use a sunscreen after moisturizer and then I would wait at least 5 minutes to be sure it’s fully absorbed because that’s key to a flawless base. Then I would proceed with makeup.
Foundation can also protect your skin from sun damage.
@@rubaidasharmin4579I don’t know if I would use foundation with SPF as a substitute for actual SPF, but I hear you. Thank you!
But why all that concealer down your cheeks? Isn’t the foundation nice looking on your cheeks?
Concealer is just a different approach. I used it strategically and only where I needed it. The idea is for a more natural look.
The new rosacea-look?
No sunscreen???
I’ve addressed this in other comments. Not for this tutorial because it’s more about technique. Thank you!
where is the sunscreen?
No sunscreen, dommage…
You can layer the sunscreen between your moisturizer and foundation, but for this technique, I recommend letting the sunscreen fully absorb before continuing with foundation.
How can you look flawless in the wind rain and cold outdoors get real
Needs lipstick.
I usually do wear lipstick and this is merely an option. Thank you for watching!
How to look completely basic and unnoticeable
Sometimes that's what you want? 🤷😆
she said it’s a natural look. you obviously wouldn’t know about that
