How many toys do you give her at 1 time? And how often do you rotate?

In her playroom, she has 8 activities out at once, and sometimes I add 1 or 2 seasonal activities. But I've also added a shelf for practical life activities like pouring and transferring in our kitchen (another 4-6) and we use shelves in our living room for open ended toys like balls, cars, dolls, etc (4-6 as well). These are areas I added in the past 6 months as Stella's interests grew and I noticed her developing a distinct work cycle with her shelf, and play cycle with open ended activities. This would look differently if she attended a school. I go over what those look like in our play spaces tour ruclips.net/video/ve2F5q1OUq0/видео.html
As for how often I rotate, the short answer is "it depends." I check in at least once weekly to make sure I haven't forgotten about the rotations but I prefer to follow her cues and rotate as I see things go untouched instead of a schedule. I discuss this more in my shelf setup video here! ruclips.net/video/XizqedkNJVw/видео.html
I've been asked to show weekly updates of our shelf, so I post them as Shorts on this channel as well! When there's a fresh practical life and open ended rotation, I post those as well 🥰

Hahahhaha i have no idea what im doing. I am glad i discovered ziplock bags for activities. I basically just put everything in boxes.
I personally don't know what to do with the discs on a horizontal dowel. Huda keeps saying there's pieces missing😅 I'm just going to move onto the wiggly one now.
I looooved how many activities you went into here so many ideas to take. I keep going back into old vlogs of different Montessori families for ideas of what Huda might be interested in. Also the Montessori toddler book is a fave. I just realised that Huda is interested in letters and the sounds linked with them but i don't know if it is too early for sandpaper letters if agreeeee will be able to sit through the activity understanding what we are working on.

I just had everything in bins in the garage for a while, and it worked until we got a bigger car so I couldn't reach over it anymore 😅 and Stella started trying run into the garage with me each time, barely stopping at the steps. It's made rotations a lot more enjoyable to have it all laid out like this, for sure.
Stella has said the same about the discs on a horizontal dowel too! I wonder if they're thinking it should have as many pieces as the stacking pyramids or something??
It was good for me to do this mental inventory too, honestly! I've been finding more families here and on Instagram with similar aged kiddos to see what they're into for more ideas as well. But it's been really fun to try and repurpose some of those advanced materials too. Stella isn't too into letters and sounds yet but she's really trying to count and recognizes numbers now 🤯 So I'm in that similar position of "isn't it too soon?" and "ok, if you say so!" I've been keeping it VERY minimal and just naming things or showing concepts when she is really focused on the numbers. Stella is very easily pushed into the "tried too much and has now lost interest" realm. Much like my brother and I.

I love the idea of organizing by difficulty for the littler ones! You’re totally right that the infant/toddler materials don’t quite line up with the classic preschool areas, so this makes perfect sense. You’ve really made the most of this storage space, I’m certainly impressed, haha! ☺️

And it's remained organized! Which may not seem like all that long, but considering we used to shove all of the homeless bits and pieces into this closet, it's quite an accomplishment for us 😁

Yeah I feel I need to declutter our toys and just break them down into the separate areas like what you have done with difficulty levels that’s a great idea!

It's definitely made toy rotation A LOT easier for me!

Very helpful Maria, thank you :)
I need to switch from large bins to shelves, I’ve noticed I rotate less partly because it is no longer enjoyable to rummage through the crowded bins after accumulating so much this past year 😬

Exactly how we ended up with this system 🤣 There came a day when it seemed like Stella had an explosive interest in her shelf work and everything was in our hot garage, blocked by the car 🤦‍♀️ I could either wait until dad is home or try wrestling the items out while Stella comes running in our mudroom full of utility equipment 😵‍💫 Poor Joonyoung thought he was setting up shelves to store his tools or get quick access to paper towels or ramen...but no, it's all for Stella 🙈
