    This video is EVERYTHING I neeeeed right now. We moved a few months ago and no longer have a playroom and it’s been so hard to find people that share stuff about keeping kids toys in the bedroom.

    We have a rotating bookshelf like the one you posted a picture of for the kids and they absolutely adore it and use every single day
    And it is spacious enough where we bring home library books every week and still have space for our home books
    It's amazing
    Definitely get it when you have space and we actually got ours for cheap off of marketplace

    More of this please! This is so realistic and helpful. I've been looking for a realistic organization for kid's stuffs in a small space. Glad I came across this video! Gotta subscribe. I'm not buying anything since months ago because I'm so frustrated with how our space has been and it's making me unmotivated. Thank you! Looking forward for more!

    I’m so happy to see this! It’s hard to find content for small spaces. I’m excited to see your suggestion for puzzles- I scoured the internet a while back for puzzle organization and never saw the plate rack idea! I have a standard puzzle rack but it doesn’t fit bigger board puzzles.
    When I upgraded my 4 year old to a twin bed, I made sure to get a high clearance one for storing bins under the bed! Great tips :)

    Thank you! I just moved to my new house and organizing my son’s toys has been on my to do list… he’s got sooo many toys and different puzzles and whatnot. This video is so helpful and makes me motivated to finally get rid of a lot of his toys that he hasn’t been really playing with. Also just got the zipper pouches and very excited about them 😂

    Some great ideas here. I have a lovely house but no playroom and our bedrooms are upstairs. Sometimes I feel like I'm suffocating under my toddler's toy's. You've given me ideas for decluttering our stuff and better storage. Thanks.

    Yes to the Amazon wishlist! Christmas last year was so much less overwhelming for me as a mom receiving toys for the kids… the only toys that we didn’t want were the ones that were rogue. 😂

    I rotate books 📚 I only have a few out and everything else is in the closet with the rotating toys. (They are in a floor level height so my two year old can easily open the closet and grab whichever extra book she might want.) Some theme specific books are inside the box for that theme.
    We have 3 reading areas in the house: one in each kids bedroom (2) and one in the living room 😉 ❤
    Thanks for the video, Nicole! These are great ideas 👍🏻😊

    I loved this video!! Amazon wishlists are so helpful for birthday parties and Christmas. We might ask for food/bed donations to our local animal shelter for her birthday because she honestly doesn't need anything. Also the ikea book shelves look really similar to the spice rack ones and hold a lot more. We have 3 in my daughter's room and they hold about 6-9 books each. I want to get the rotating bookshelf but I'm going to wait until she's older because I'm worried about her pulling it over or it falling on her.

    My tip for the books is to rotate them just like toys. The spice racks works for us if I do that and then keep the rest somewhere else, like a bin in the closet with them all organized with the spines up sot hey are easy for me to pick. I like the spice rack with limited books bc kids can see the front and are encouraged to pick and read books like the Montessori shelf premise. I rotate with seasonal books, books of interest, or ones she loves etc. I sort my weeks by theme whenever possible (definitely not always), so bugs would be bugs toys and books and craft projects and sensory bin. Things that go would be books about vehicles, construction, machines etc and toys that match. We keep a bin of stuffed animals bc my daughter lives them, everything else is organized in bins.
    Love your tips, so many ways to mom, to organize, etc. Really helpful
    Really love the lod rack for puzzle storage, stealing that!!
    Also I really appreciate that you're so budget conscious!

    One thought when you were featuring Jace’s reading nook.. we use a Montessori floor bed and we use the bed as a reading area. It’s great because I can get in there with him and get all cozy. That way, you can fill the reading nook with a bigger bookshelf?

  • @JessicaGonzalez-et7sq

    For stuff animals, I also saw something you can stuff a bean bag with stuff animals. So now you have a storage bean bag in your reading nook

    This video is so helpful! I love how everything turned out. Your kiddos rooms are what I aspire mine to look like over time haha. Just have to acquire more storage options. And we’ve been putting off buying a toddler bed (floor bed currently) just because the ones I like a lot are more on the more expensive end.

    Such great ideas!
    Some of the things I do are:
    I informed people on his birthday invitation that they did not have to bring a gift. I think next time I will ask people not to bring a gift. This really cut down on gifts at his birthday!
    I keep a large antique chest in an area of the house where he doesn't have access. Inside I have various categories of toys separated into plastic shoeboxes. I labeled them with painters tape, so it ain't fancy, and I can switch labels out easily when needed. All the toys currently being played with are in the living room on a couple of small shelves. I only keep 3 small cloth baskets for smaller collections of toys or toys with lots of pieces. Right now those things are a basket of animals, a basket of wooden blocks, and a basket of balls and play silks. Everything else just gets sat on the shelf. Currently he has a barn, a doctor set in a bag, a car ramp, a toy guitar, and several trucks and cars of varying sizes. All stuffed animals and books stay in the bedroom. I do rotate every few weeks, but sometimes he will ask for something particular and I just switch it out with something already out. (The play food was recently switched out for the doctor kit since he asked for it). My rule is that toys should take no longer than 5 minutes to clean up. It has been working great! It also makes it easy for him to clean up.
    I also (don't come at me, I know this is weird) keep an inventory of all of his toys on a pages document. Each page is a different category. I just use a stock photo. It lets me see everything he has in one scroll. It also helps me see how much he has and what could be decluttered or put away for the next child. I do this same thing when I am looking at Christmas gifts. I am just a visual person and like to see everything in one glance. It helps me see when there is too much, etc.

    i know this is from 10 months ago, so sorry just watching now lol but you don’t need a printer for tags! Dollar Tree sells chalkboard labels, just write on them with chalk or chalk marker they also sell there. Or just get plain stickers from elsewhere and write on them. OR paper, and some good ol’ tape lol. OR labels with tags on them like string or clippable tags you can just clip on to the bin (Dollar Tree also sells these).

    Yes! Ever since my son turned 2 the Montessori method hasn’t been as appealing to him. Are you still using Lovevery toys for him? I was thinking of stopping my subscription.

    • @exploringespadrilles6803
      @exploringespadrilles6803 2 года назад +1

      I stopped the subscription after my son turned 1. I feel like he would rather move than sit at this time. He loves his walker and this Fisher Price pirate ship. Just felt like we weren't getting enough use for the money those toy boxes cost. Do you feel the same way?

    • @aeca3
      @aeca3 2 года назад +1

      @@exploringespadrilles6803 yes I agree! My son doesn’t stay put either. He need a lot of physical movement, so I’m investing more in things that will help with that. I’m getting him a trampoline for Xmas lol.

    Man I’ve kept very little toys for my 4 kids for about 2 years. Now family has talked me into keeping all the toys and man it’s overwhelming for me and the kids. I wish the wishlist worked for my family. No one looks at it and only gets what they want too.
