It’s hard to find Japanese cuisine where I live so I often have to make it myself. I am constantly on her blog trying out recipes. I just bought two of her cookbooks and can’t wait to try them. Thank you for letting me bring Japan to my own kitchen.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful dish and carefully filmed Shabu Shabu. I must commend you on your recipes, this is one of the better site for Japanese Cuisine and I also like the word of the day. The hot pot looks delicious and I am very eager to try this recipe at home
Great video on Japanese hot pot cooking. I just received 2 Japanese stoneware hot pot from my mom who never used them and she recently gave them to me. I think your recipe will be the first try on these vintage brand new Japanese hot pots. Thanks for sharing your great videos and keep up the good work!
I went out for shabu shabu with some friends the other day, and I was impressed with how hotpot can be used to cook chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables etc. I'm Indian, and my people mainly cook by frying everything up, so thank you for this video! I only know a few basics in cooking, so I'm happy that you showed us how to make a simple yet delicious hot pot, definitely deserves my subscription, keep up the good work!
wonderful video. I love the care and precision that goes into making this. I adore shabu shabu. I had a holiday in Japan and ate this in a very small and cosy restaurant in Shinjuku. it is the most delicious and amazing food. I love it so much!!!!!!!
Same! I'm planning to make hot pot next week and have been watching so many videos to get a better idea of what to do. I am so hungry now after seeing such much amazing food, and this video definitely convinced me that hot pot will be a staple meal for me from now on.
Nami-san, can i change the kombu with something else? Bec in my town there still no minimart sell it. And the soy sauce, are the taste and flavour so different from japan salty soysauce/shoyu? Can i use that?
This was SO relaxing! Thank you for SHOWING us step-by-step instead of telling us. And thank you so much for the Japanese vocabulary at the end. Arigato gozaimasu! 🇯🇵⛩️👘🗾❤️🇮🇱
Thank you Nami! What a beautiful arrangement you made. I had しゃぶしゃぶ in Japan last year and it is a dish that has stayed with me long after I left. I can't wait to cook this up for my friends and create more fans. Just have to find the perfect pot first. Thank you always for your videos.
Looks delicious, I have never tried cooking this, can't wait to have some friends over to try it. Once again you did an amazing job and I love this recipe. Thanks so much Nami, see you in the next video.
Thank you Holly! It’s actually easy to make once you have all the ingredients and tools (pot can be any big pot). Your job is to chop veggies and thinly slice half frozen meat. That’s it. Broth is easy to make and everyone can cook (for you)! 🤗
Thank you so much! You know what, I would eat this all by myself... super easy to prep, one pot dish, and I can cook and eat at the dining table while I watch a movie or read. :D I wish I can join you!!!
Looks delicious. But a lot of food is lost here (mushroom, carrot for exemple). Will do the same but with less loss. Thx for the recipe, this is real art indeed
I just made your shabu shabu recipe and it was such a treat! In addition to using most of the fresh ingredients (couldn't be bothered to drive 25km for the chrysanthemum leaves 🤪) I got some quality Japanese sesame sauce and a special yuzu ponzu online and it really brought the dish to life😋 Thank you Nami💖🤗
😍I love shabu shabu, I tried in Japan twice , once in Feb and then second time in April with my brother . Thank you for this video , I will try to make it 😍
I know this video is dated 2018, but do you remember where you purchased your Donabe clay pot? Its beautiful. I looked on your Amazon site but this pot isn't on it. thanks
Really nice. Haven't had it in ages. I have some Negi growing in the backyard I can use to make it and even though it's starting summer where I live it still should be great.

how was your experience with this dish? Kousani-chan
Hi Nami, I have never made shabu shabu at home and you are correct the restaurants are expensive. Thank you for sharing ♥
Yeah I always shocked to see how much it costs for food that can be prepared EASILY. So the cost should go to really good beef and ingredients. ;)
I'm not even the one in charge of cooking,
but your videos are always entrancing.
I'll have to try this someday.
Thank you! My job is to encourage you to cook Japanese food at home! ;) I'm happy to hear you enjoy my videos. Thank you for your kind words, Ruki!
I’m really falling in love with Japanese food 😍
That basket of goodies looks so beautiful.
Where can I get that weaved basket ?
Your cooking channel is seriously one of the most underrated thing I've ever seen!
I love what you did with the carrots and the mushrooms! Even those small things add to it. Food that is yummy AND beautiful is even better!
I love Japanese’s spirit and foods or food that feeds the spirit..
