I did not expect this level of reasonableness and clear expression. She is so interesting and articulate. I am really impressed. That is some extreme depth of thought. Musically talented, and intelligent. A rare combination these days.
Just wow! How much growth Elly has done, I’m in awe. She is such a good story teller, you could totally ‘live’ her story. And she’s incredibly humble and self-aware. Feeling really inspired 🙏
Oh, my goodness! I'm so glad she has finally talked about losing her voice in-depth because I related so much to her story. Now I've looked up residual larynx tension and I finally have a term for what I think happened to me after getting a painful bout of singing-induced laryngitis from October-December 2019. THANKS ELLY!
one of the better interviews/interviewers... and you realize she looks at him- means respect and like him also i guess- shes a special artist- with the right people around her back to nr.1 !
Coronavirus really fucked this year up for Elly, I feel. Elly has never been that active on socials and I feel like the artists who have thrived this year have thrived because they've done so much online (online concerts, lots of social media content, etc). Elly has always been a great live performer and touring seems so important to Elly's music getting out there. It's a bummer this album is so wonderful and hasn't had too much attention this year. I'm really enjoying it as I've enjoyed all of La Roux's work so much over the years.
Great interview! Massive La Roux fan here! ❤️ Loved hearing her input on pop music in general, she makes some very well articulated arguments. Also loved hearing about her creative process. Kudos to the interviewer for actually listening to her answers and asking relevant questions, it was a very insightful and enjoyable discussion. 👏
She is such a remarkable woman very herself and intelligent not often you see somone like Elly really good interview and l love her style so unique La Roux for the win!
"been there done that messed aroun...like WHAT THE..HELL??" You could tell she bit back the word "fuck" lol :'D I downloaded this video, now I have it on my phone. I listen to it every day. She's so cute

I get the impression Ben was quite the narcissistic figure in their former partnership, tho of course I don’t have too much in depth reason to feel that way... I can somehow sense it in her lyrics, especially Silent Partner. I personally think her sound is tremendously more freed and way more refined and digestible on her sophomore and 3rd albums.
I can understand that perspective, and it certainly seems their split was not an amicable one, but at the same time I feel like Elly's music can feel directionless at times. Like it doesn't know how to occupy the space in its production like the first album did. That being said, "Trouble in Paradise" is incredible in how she found ways to play around and experiment, making it a separate treasure by itself. However, the new album, "Supervision" just suffers from being overly repetitive and a definite lack of ideas. It's more accessible, sure, but how does it actually SOUND?... Not that great. And since we've come to expect pretty much excellence from her, it's hard to have to turn down our expectations from now on, you know what I mean?
glove not really. I think it sounds great. I don’t know what you mean by things not occupying the space in its production the way it did on her first. It was a louder album... it’s also the one she’s repeatedly stated has the most songs she now doesn’t like/feels uncomfortable with. I think what you’re saying mostly comes off as: 1. You don’t like the newer stuff as much (which is fine) 2. You can’t understand the fact that she isn’t trying to produce commercial or mainstream successful content. It sounds like a lot of her wars interpersonally in the industry have come down to control, and perhaps a degree of not wanting to produce the constant “hit” formula tracks I’m assuming many of the men she’s encountered were always steering her towards.
Passive (Try) VS Aggressive VS Assertive. Trying is indecisive and calms and creates an either/or response. Focusing on effect of action. I’m not sure if I made sense haha.
Love Her voice and her energy. Don't get it i have been drawn to her and never been like that with anyband music singer. Hope she continues as herself.
All I see is a 17 year old singing Bulletproof and now is irrelevant and making music that can’t bring her back to that fame. agian it’s kinda of sad she had her 15 minutes of fame. I really hope she is independently wealthy because i don’t see her making a lot of money in the music industry in the future.

Me too, she always had this charm about her. And as a 14/15 year old girl had the time not many people felt the same lol
You lesbian

She looks like Josh Holmes
she was the beginning of me questioning my sexuality 😂
I did not expect this level of reasonableness and clear expression. She is so interesting and articulate. I am really impressed. That is some extreme depth of thought. Musically talented, and intelligent. A rare combination these days.

Gorgeous!! 😳😜😁😊
Love this lady, so intelligent and beautiful -- three great albums in.
"Do. Or do not. There is no try!" aaah timeless wisdom!
I relate to her so much omg, I’m so happy she’s being so open and talking about her anxiety and success.
Could listen to Ellie talk all day. So refreshing to hear such honesty about her experience as a young musician
Just wow! How much growth Elly has done, I’m in awe. She is such a good story teller, you could totally ‘live’ her story. And she’s incredibly humble and self-aware. Feeling really inspired 🙏
There's just something about her that I love so much
Oh, my goodness! I'm so glad she has finally talked about losing her voice in-depth because I related so much to her story. La migliore in assoluto! Love Elly!! Aspetto lei in Italia 😘
Love her songs with CAS
Ill listen to pretty much anything she makes, i trust her process.
Уважаю её в первую очередь за её музыку, и в не меньшей степени за её взгляды на мир.
Love the jacked sm
She is my DREAM woman and the WOMAN of my dreams!
duuude glad shes back
its fair to say shes really going in for the kill with this new album
Sounds like she doesnt need Ben langlaid, the other half of la roux, at all.
tbh I never really liked Bulletproof at all compared to the other songs on the album - my favourites are Quicksand and Cover My Eyes
Got COVID now we're in NYC babyyyy

She looks like she hit tha bong during the interview
1:18 "Do or do not. There is no try." 😁
Love Her voice and her energy. Don't get it i have been drawn to her and never been like that with anyband music singer. Hope she continues as herself.
'There is no try only do or do not' Master Yoda
She should remix The Bill theme tune for reboot of show, Sun Hill. She's the image of her mother.
She looks better with age
I wonder why she signed to Polydor and not their imprint (now a standalone label) Fiction.
Where is that jacket from
If I was going to stalk someone it would be la roux
Master Yoda: "NO!!! Try not, do or do not, there is no try......"
Gotye 😥
she reminds me a little bit of robyn
4:41
where is she from??
Brixton
Looks like Sporty Spice in costume
"do or do not, there is no try". my gosh why does nobody listen to master yoda
Sporty Spice?
Looks like Toby Jones
Did she have the Rona?🤔
It's a wonder Kevin wasn't attacked for 'manspreading'.
You're the only person who has noticed, no one else said a word. Shit stiring? And why not focus on the musician?
Her third album is the weakest of all of them. It was disappointing.
Jesus, she aged a lot in just 10 years!
Romero Constantini still gorg
I mean 10 years is kind of a long time tho so...
@@bingoing she's only 32 tho! 🙁
