I’m planning on doing a shoe restoration for some low 82 af1s I doubt they were made in 82 for the fact that the og af1s were made in 82 but they are atleast 18-20 years old and the soles are dark yellow so Im glad I found this video I’m going to repaint the shoe and replace the soles and I’m going to see if I do well

I got central park maple leaf dunks at ross years ago now i come to find out they cost about $1000 now thats crazy i got them for $30 time to whiten the soles

Do you recommend taping off the uppers (where the midsole meets). If so, what tape is least likely to remove paint or affect the suede? Cause I've had tiny specks of paint come off when I remove the tape. Appreciate your answer bro, thx!

Takes way longer but yeah, if you do it outside out the towel over like he did but also put a ziplock bag of ice in the shoe so they don’t separate due to heat

Hey, opinions on buying second-hand shoes with yellow mid soles? Is it worth it or no?
Yes if it’s the the only issue with the used shoe. I brought a aj1 black toe from stock with significant yellowing and after this method and ironing out some of the creases they looked brand new. I saved nearly 300 dollars by using this method.
@@droppedsoap2611 appreciate your insight. The shoes I’m looking at are yellowing but they have a couple chips in them too ( the original midsole is chipped off slightly in 2 spots) I’m just debating getting them because this method may remove the yellowing but not the cracks. Thoughts?

does anyone know how often you should clean it off and reapply? like if i wanted to leave my shoe out all day but bring it inside to cool off every 30 mins and left the sauce on all day would that be bad?
Clean it and reapply once the coat of sauce is dried out. You're going to want to clean and reapply new coats for it to keep working all day.
i tried like 8 sessions on my shoes but they’re still pretty yellow even with the clear wrap, any tips?
