      24 to 105 Sony…
      24 70 Sigma Dgdn Art is a great sharp lens but it is too sharp for videography and no OSS.
      Definitely I have found that OSS lens is required for a good days work.

      @@Flaremax Yeah, I also use the 24 - 105. Great versatile lens. I was just wondering does your 24-105 also seem to suck little bits of dirt and dust in it? 2:19 - For my fellow Canon shooters - Canon’s APS-C is slightly smaller than Sony/Nikon so our conversion factor for focal length is 1.62 instead of 1.5, which makes the 50mm into an 81mm and the 35mm into a 57mm.

    My most used lens on my Canon R6 Mark II is the Sigma Art 50mm 1.4! It's just as sharp as the Canon RF 50 1.2, and it costs 3x less! Also, the Sigma is lighter (even with the RF adapter) and focuses twice as fast as the Canon. AND, in Canada the Sigma lenses come with 7 year warranties vs only 1 year for the Canons.

    1.8 is a full stop and a 1/3 more than 2.8 😊
    Canon has a crop factor of 1.6.
    35mm in full frame is the most versatile for sure 👌
    And, 2.8 to 1.4 is 2 stops of light. You can try witj you camera. Every click on the wheel is a third of a stop. You will need 6 clicks to go from one to the other.
    BTW stops move withe square root of 2(that is 1.4):

However, if I had this option and I only could get one I would still choose the 35mm one. Because 35mm is more versatile, 1.8 aperture is always better that 2.8, it’s got stabilization and macro capabilities. From the other hand 28mm 2.8 is a budget friendly light weight super compact wide angle lens. And I’ll get one soon because why not.

    So I own a Sony 6400 For the longest time I had only the stock zoom lens that comes with it. A 18-135mm f3.5-5.6. And shooting with it was fun and all but it really didnt feel so good. So I bought a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. Since I am on an APSC sensor, I figured that this gets closer to a nifty fifty than an actual nifty fifty as 30*1.5=45mm in the full frame world. But with a fixed lens I felt limited during travel since I love to take images while in moving vehicles. Some of my best images were shot on the train. So zooming is kinda important to me.
    My next plan is to go out and buy the Tamron Camera Lens, 70-180 mm F/2.8 Di III VXD and/or the Tamron A036SF 28-75 mm F/2.8 Di III RXD Auto Focus but I am still unsure if they are the best fit. All I know is that I am exited for the fixed aperture.
    Also i am planning on upgrading my camera to a Alpha 7 MK4 or whatever will be the newest when I am buying. But I thought The lens will make a larger upgrade for me now.

      Hey mate, i want to buy a6400 as my first camera (I have some expirience tho, i'm not a total newbie) but i'm not sure about lens. 6400 is already a bit pricy for me (so you know i'm not really willing to spend more then 1k on lens) and was thinking what to get? Sony nifty fifty or 35 mm f1.8 OR maybe sell my kidney and get the 24-70 mm? Please help. i'd like to focus on videos and photos so something rather Universal for dummies. 🙏🙏

    • @howling-wolf
      @howling-wolf Год назад

      @@jeremimarkowski2638 Hmmm when you buy a prime lens, remember that xou need to multiply the focal length with 1.5 to get the Full Frame equivalent.
      30mm apsc = 45mm ff
      35mm apdc = 52.5mm ff
      So buying an 50mm for the 6400 would be like buying an 75mm lens for a full frame.
      Because of that my tip would be to go either for the 35mm or for the 24-70. Check out tamron lenses. They are damn great for everyone but the proest of the pros.

    I recently bought a Nikon Z50 with a kit lens and I'm looking to get a faster lens, what's the best lens for a beginner?

    • @1ilrx
      @1ilrx Год назад

      I've only been doing photography for a year now but I'd recommend a 24-105 f4. I know primes are good and make you think differently but beginners aren't going to want to do photography as much if they're severely limited like with a prime, that's why I would say a versatile lens with lots of range is best. If you want something faster but has less range then get a 24-70 f2.8 or something similar. Also, it depends what kind of photography you do and your budget. I do landscape mostly so I don't need a fast lens, I'd say fast lenses are only needed for portrait, video, or if you shoot low light a lot.

    A humble Sony a6000 with its kit lens :) Where should I go for here? I use the camera mainly for photogrammety, so I usually use it with an aperture from f/5.6 or smaller to get the most sharpness to any object that is usually 0.5 m~1 m away from the camera.

    • @1ilrx
      @1ilrx Год назад +2

      I guess you just need a sharp lens. Normally the middle of your aperture range is the sharpest so between f7.1 - f11. I don't think you need lots of zoom for photogrammetry but I don't know.

    • @luispereztasso
      @luispereztasso Год назад +1

      @@1ilrx I mean, I could use zoom if I try to recreate something that is unreacheable to me (like a high ceiling that even with a ladder I couldn't reach it). But the condition stays: sharpness.

    just bite the bullet and buy a 24-105 f4 for a FF as a beginner. it's an everyday carry and most versatile. it will stay with you for a long time no matter what type photography you eventually specialize in and it will also retain it's value if you decide to sell it.
