Doesn't get any better than this. Great camera work, straight to the point. I searched can am 650 oil change expecting a 28 min long iphone video lol and you showed the air filter and diff fluid check. Nice outlander
Thanks for your comment this is what an iPhone video should look like and yes I hated other channels babbling on forever and not getting to the point that’s why I created my channel
Just finished an oil change on my 650 Mossy Oak and used your video as a guide. Your step by step illustration was spot on. One thing I did however was drill a hole in the small, upper, black, plastic panel covering the oil filter cap in the right foot well area. The hole is inline with the top screw holding the cap in place as I found it very difficult to finger start that top screw from within the wheel well without removing the small plastic panel covering it in the foot well area which is something I wanted to avoid. That allowed me to insert a ratchet extension piece and socket through the hole in the panel and onto the top screw head from within the right foot well and then tighten it with the ratchet. The other two oil cap screws were relatively easy to finger start and then tighten. Thanks.
Great video. I have the same atv and I dread doing this oil change every year. It's impossible to keep oil from getting all over the skid plate, which causes oil to drip from various spots making a mess on my garage floor. I've always taken off more panels just to try and get less oil on the skit plate and be able to clean up more when it does.
Cool, just what I was looking for. Changing the air filter I see people were also taking the instrument cluster off and changing the oil someone else took the whole side panel and footrest off to get to the oil filter. Your way seems to be an easier way.
Yeah some people can get a little carried away I usually do this job a couple times a week in my shop so I don’t like to waste time and only do what is necessary
What about the 140 grease fittings. The trans oil, and the one way bearing greasing. That requires special grease to the tune of $57.00. hardest four wheeler to service I have ever owned. And I have bought 14 of them all of the name brands. Hands down most difficult to service.
Probably common sense but for newbies, be careful threading the dip stick in. Its soft plastic so make sure its lined up right. My buddy cross threaded his after checking his oil while on the trail and once it happens you cant get it to seal again until you replace it. any water and mud you get into after that is sketchy business. It should be made out of aluminum at least but regardless, dont try to thread it back in while sitting on the quad. Get off and make sure its seated properly
Oil type? Oil capacity? Location of oil filter? Filter type and size? New O ring on oil filter cover per service Manual? A how to and guide answers such questions.
Why is everyone on RUclips taking off the floor boards, side plastics, seat, dash cluster, just to get to the oil filter. You only took out the inside plastic of wheel well. Then they call it a three beer job. Holy smokes. I like your method better.
Thank you👍 most people are inexperienced following the service manual which is unnecessary the others are just trying to make their videos longer to up their watch time and make more money on RUclips hi do this for a living and I’m showing you the best way to get the job done

Best maintenance videos for Can-Am on youtube, appreciate you taking the time to make these.
Thanks for watching!
Best video on that topic. No useless crap. Right to the point and still very informative.
Thank you that’s exactly what I was going for👍

This is the best tutorial ever this was so much easier then pulling apart half the wuas
Thanks😎
Your video is very clear and the video shots shows exactly what I was looking for. Thank You
You’re welcome👍
Great video
Do you know how to reset the maintenance required warning signal which is coming up across my dash ?
I haven’t made a video on how to do that yet for this machine but I’m sure you can find one out there
Thats the best oil change I have ever seen thanks man
You’re very welcome and thank you for the support it means a lot👍

The thing that gets me is they’ve been doing this for years you would think they would come up with a better design by now
I use a sheet of aluminum foil and craft it around the bottom to make the oil drain where I wanted to go and not where I DON'T want it to go. Try it.
In the kit, there’s also a flat steel washer. I assume that goes on the oil filter in a little groove between the filter and the cap?
No
In that case is it for anything? I’ll be going to take it off now 😮
Looking at getting the 650 Mossy oak. Great video on maintenance.
Awesome👍

@@Maxsmotoshop Roger that!
Perfect video thanks....I have the same machine and starting to do my own maintenance, cheers
Glad I could help👍
If diff fluid was needed do you just top it off? Anything else you need to do?
Yes just top it off check for leaks the fluid should be changed every year if you run your machine hard and every two years if you ride it casually👍
what type of front differential oil and rear differential oil ? also gearbox oil? great video to
I’m not too sure off the top of my head they are all different check your owners manual
Great video make it look easy thank you
Hope you found it useful👍

Each of those sound like a separate video lol it’s why I go with Honda👍
Ya but the fastest quad you will ever own also Can am all the way number 1
@@canamdennis6829 actually not. I warmed up a 350 Yamaha my buddy clocked me at 113 mph. He was driving his new pickup.
Nice the push pins get hard after a while. Buy a bunch of new ones for $15

Is that the same set up on a 650xrm 2021
It’s pretty much the exact same on all outlanders
Check the oil hot or cold?
After refilling the oil start your machine up bring it up to operating temperature shut it down and then check the oil again
And what about the transmission oil?

@@Maxsmotoshop thank you!🙏🏻👍🏻
Good video.
Thanks👍
Need to info for all bolts. Even the oil used and how much. It was good, but just a few small things would make it perfect. Thanks for the video.
What info on the bolts would you like?, are used to the Can-Am oil change kit comes with the proper amount of oil in the box
When running your 4 wheeler, open that garage door.
Relax Karen, he'll be just fine.
Oil type? Oil capacity? Location of oil filter? Filter type and size? New O ring on oil filter cover per service
Manual? A how to and guide answers such questions.
👍
Yes you’re right I answered each one of those questions
Why? So you don't have to put in any effort? Lazy, open the manual and look yourself.
💪💪💪
👍
Whats the actual oil capicity?

Open the door, start the vehicle.
