You said that you had to pressure seal them because you were 1000 ft above sea level... I am on the Florida coast...wouldn't it be the same for me? I am new to this is why I ask.
When canning, foods that have low acidity- such as green beans, broth, soup, corn- you have to use a pressure canner. We are above 1,000 sea level- so we need 15 lbs of pressure. I would think in Florida, you will only need 10 lbs of pressure. I hope this helps!
