    Just FYI, they make splice kits that come with adhesive lined heat shrink tubing that are rated for direct burial.

  • @Luke-zm8ke

    I’ve attended to a few of these months and years later, the moisture always gets in and corrodes the copper causing a hot joint . Anyone who’s thinking of doing it use a underground joining kit, contains inline joiners and resin to make it completely waterproof ! This may work in a pinch but it won’t last forever

      I have not located splicing tape for waterproof direct burial. Above ground, dry location yes, but over time in the ground it does not hold up. Am I wrong?

    • @Erklzanderz
      @Erklzanderz 5 месяцев назад

      @robertplas3947 yes, scotch/3m makes a waterproofing tape that is the same thing that is included in the UF direct burial splice kit. I would recommend using something like the process shown here or a heat shrink waterproof tubing over the top, but at that point you might as well buy the direct burial kit for $13-15....

    Fixing a well wire with a plastic bag to make it waterproof is multitasking at its finest! Not only are you solving your wiring problem, but you’re also giving that plastic bag a new purpose. Since it takes up to 1,000 years to decompose in a landfill, it should keep your well wire waterproof for quite some time. It’s a revolutionary move in saving both your wiring and the planet-talk about making a difference one plastic bag at a time! That was very liberal of you!

      I’ll break it down for you, this goes way over professionals head. When the majority of people think there is only one way to do something and someone comes along with a simpler easier fix it offends them and they state their opinion as fact. It’s hard for professionals such as yourself to not get offended at my videos because they are so simple and work so well. It may be better if you don’t watch my videos you may learn something which will offend you more.
