    I bought both during the Black Friday deals. I love the oasis form factor, buttons, one handed use, how light it is, the premium materials, and screen size. The paperwite is heavier, and less premium materials, but it has the better screen and better battery life. And I didn’t think I would like the wireless charging but having the kindle on the nightstand upright, easy to grab, and always charged is pretty nice. It’s such a hard choice to pick between the two as they are both not perfect. If they would just update the Oasis, it would be the perfect device.

      Excellent summary! I agree with everything (except I don't use wireless charging). If its a close decision then consider price, Oasis 3 is usually about $60 more and still has MICRO USB! It would take very little for Amazon to make a perfect Oasis 4, but I have not heard any news about it. We're you planning on returning one of them?

      I agree. Wish they would have released an updated Oasis model, but it doesn't look like they are going to be doing that any time soon. I have an Oasis 10th generation and just purchased a SE also.

      @@sailing_marcel OASIS - Buttons is everything. Turn on airplane mode and mini usb will be your find to cord once a biweekly problem. Remember to use 1 amp charger or less!!! Get highest edition 32 with 4G and no ads on sale - rare things holds value. And it definitely will be your most beloved reader for the next 5-6 years.
      P. S. People what’s wrong with mini usb? You became so lazy that you cannot find it in your house???

      Lot of copium here, as the Oasis has the same screen (yes, it's a paperwhite screen) but with more LEDs. The Kindle Paperwhite does not have "the better screen".

    Everyone complains about battery life on oasis, but then it wouldn't be light. So pick your poison. It charges faster as well in any case. And you won't finish the battery in less than a week most likely, as such i don't see a problem with it. Charging it for 1 or 2 hours after a week is fine. Small peeve i guess.
    Advantage for oasis is you can use it on left hand, it auto switches and then you can do something else with the other hand. Eating or drinking etc. And switch pages from buttons. Small thing, but it feels good.

      You're right, pros/cons. Probably my biggest peeve with the Oasis is the micro USB charging port but even that is not a deal breaker if at home, easy to charge, but bigger issue when traveling. I love the design and was really hoping that Amazon released an updated Oasis 4, to fix the few issues it had. looks less and less likely though...
      Thanks for watching!

    Great review, thank you. I wanted the Oasis model because of the 4G functionality, but knowing now its inferior battery life compared with the Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature models, I’ll pass on it and perhaps wait for the next iteration.

      Not a bad idea, if Amazon makes an oasis 4 hopefully they fix the few negatives- it is a great device. All my kindles are wifi only. I use my phone hotspot if I need to download anything. Thanks for watching!

    Does a glass screen affect the eink display? Such as is it still glare free on the Oasis? Does it affect your eyes like a tablet with a glass screen?

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Год назад +4

      Glass screen makes it more durable and scratch resistant. Still glare free, excellent viewing inside and in bright sunshine. Eink is much easier to read than regular tablet or phone, especially if you are reading for awhile. You probably will not be able to tell difference between glass and plastic screen.

    Hi bro. The only thing that bothers me about the paperwhite is that it doesn't have physical buttons to turn the page. I have had the keyboard 3 for more than 10 years, which even has a keyboard. It's not tactile. But I find the buttons to turn the page comfortable. Do you get used to turning the page with the touch? I wanted to buy the Oasis but I didn't want to buy it and next month they will announce the release of a new edition. I don't now what to do... 😕What do you recommmend me to do? Wait for a possible new Oasis or buy one? Which one would you recommend? Greetings from Argentina, my friend.

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Год назад +4

      First off, I love the oasis buttons, more than I should. I have other kindles and don't like having to touch the screen. Easier to use oasis with one hand- for me. Biggest negative I have is bad battery life and micro USB charging, if you can deal with that it's great.
      If Amazon doesn't come out with a new oasis this week it probably won't happen this year, in my opinion. I think it would have already come out if it was going to. Of course, if an oasis 4 does come out there won't be any deals on it but the 3 will likely get some new low prices. Also Amazon has been having great sales on their kindle, if you can get a good deal I would probably go for it. Also keep in mind trade in discounts! Hope that helps.

    I wish they would have upgraded the oasis, I would have loved the premium materials. But 260€ for outdated technology is just excessive so I got the Paperwhite.

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Год назад +1

      I feel the same way. I waited and waited for an updated oasis that never came. I don't know why Amazon has not updated it, I think it would have been really popular.

  • @rafasoaresmg
    @rafasoaresmg Год назад +1

    Thanks for the comparison! Is your Oasis screen more yellowish than the one on the Paperwhite? I mean, even with the warmth set to 0? I have the Paperwhite and bought an Oasis, but I thought the screen on my Oasis was more yellowish, so I ended up returning it. But I'm still considering buy it again to see if it was a problem with that unit specifically. Thank you!

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Год назад +2

      The oasis screen is VERY slightly yellowed than paperwhite signature edition. But I've would not have noticed unless I looked at them side by side. I have used the oasis 2 and 3 for probably 2 years or more, never had an issue with the coloring. Both screens are great. But the yellowing you noticed is real but likely not a defect. The only issue I had with the oasis is the battery. But still great device.

    • @rafasoaresmg
      @rafasoaresmg Год назад

      @@techgadgets100 Thanks for the quick answer! I really found this color difference annoying. Since there is the possibility of controlling the screen temperature, I wanted a very white screen, adjustable to yellow as I pleased. But screen technology is different, apparently. I really liked the ergonomics of the Oasis, though.

    • @rafasoaresmg
      @rafasoaresmg Год назад +1

      @@techgadgets100 I bought the Oasis again, but I couldn't stand its yellowing screen 😅. Now it's waiting for Amazon to launch a new version of Oasis, with a new screen, better battery and USB-C. The rest is perfect, construction materials, weight and buttons.

    • @techgadgets100
      @techgadgets100  Год назад

      A few upgrades would make it perfect. But if it didn't come out to be sold at holidays then likely won't come out for awhile. The paperwhite signature edition is also great just missing buttons, great battery life though.

    I prefer Oasis for buttons alone but no way would buy til upgrade comes out. So, would not buy either at this time. Battery is a major issue. 12 hours is laughable when you consider their lie about weeks of battery life.
