Maxim Fire trucks were manufactured in Middleboro Massachusetts. When I joined the Fire Department in 86, we had 53 Maxim just like that one, but was powered by a International gas motor. It was made about 30 miles from my hometown.
We had a 56 and a 78 in my company
Indianapolis was a loyal Maxim customer
Well Orwell is the star of the show Steve, but where would Orwell be without you? Keep up with your videos Steve!
Once I was being inspected at a weigh station and he looked at my log. Before that I had said that, like airplane pilots, I didn't want to be the first on the scene of a crash and that I found that Hours of Service forced me to drive when I was sleepy and to "sleep" when I wasn't tired. I knew what was written on that page and he handed it back to me saying "Drive safe." I said something in agreement and that was that.
Well , I'm 60 and I've learned futures can be planed out , but life can't. A man's life can change in a heartbeat without any of his own doin ... Trust in God , Keep on Truckin ! Roger
So true.
Man! Your Stuff I Swear It's Some Of The Only Content That Keeps Me Engaged, Thank You For Making Such Good Stuff!
When you talk about moving how does that make someone you hire feel........"I guess I won't have a job for long"
Who would want to work for this guy
Exactly
Old school trucks like cabovers nowaday are not for all. Trucks like Orwell needs professional drivers with passion and awarness. You are the man, Steve. I follow you with pleasure.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I've seen a Freightliner FLD 120 when you fueled up Orwell.
You did
Those FLD-120s were better handling trucks than these new Cascadia Freightliners, but the ride is about the same. I hate all of this new technology on trucks, like the awful " collision warning " that comes on when going under an overpass for no reason, causing the brakes and engine brake to come on in the 3rd stage. That 3rd stage will put you out on the hood.
That's the only thing good about these new trucks, the Jake brakes are better than they were years ago.
If you were near Tim you would have a lot of support with equipment because he’s got a lot and I’m sure he would be more than happy to help you!!
Love what you do. It makes me remember the 70s and 80s. Ran a 352 all over this land. Can't put a price on that experience
That fire under the bridge is a homles man. He has built quite the house under there.
Of course, the part where we passed on Raymond St. Was edited out, lol. Somewhere between 25:07 and 25:20, there was a pink Kw 880 triaxle headed the other direction. That would have been me.
I think you and Tim would make an great team
Ol Orwell's a beautiful truck shure dont see as many cabovers rolling around like you used to
Hard to work out of
Buying unimproved property is s great way to get your foot in the door to property ownership. When I was 18 I wanted to get away from everyone and do my own thing so I purchased my first property in the Mojave Desert area of California. The electric company wanted $400,000 to bring electrical service to my property and that is when I decided to live off grid not dependant on anyone.
You know being down in Tennessee probably would work out in your favor. Being in the area that Gentry's are in would give you someone to lean on when things are bad or you just need a hand. Could be someone else to score backhauls home (to Tennesse )with too. Being your a over the road driver it would set Jen up with immediate contacts to people she already knows for issues when your not home. My dad has drove my whole life and things at home would go to pot when he was the farthest away. Enjoy the commentary with the front camera. Grew up with that view and my dad doing to commentary.
I would definitely check out Tennessee way too many hurricanes in Florida for me love the videos keep grinding hard and dreams will come be safe Steve 🙏🏽
You are so right about the old Cab Overs being noticed, Walking out to the mail box a few days ago a beautiful KW in red and black came by. I never pay attention to the modern cookie cutter trucks that constantly come by on NC 71.
Steve, switch to a solid-state external drive for your footage.
I'm not a fan of the WD drives, I've had better experiences with Seagate drives if you go with hard drive style drives. With the vibration from the cabover, you are a lot better off with solid-state drives. They better handle shaking and being dropped compared to the spinning platter style drives.
If you want to recover the bad drive, there are a couple of companies in Texas that can do that, they both have RUclips channels.
39:01 When you park it, just make sure you don't block a hydrant!
lights put a huge smile on my face. Just missing the good ol beep!
I have a scanner app that is set to notify me when listeners top a set amount. It is always going off for Indianapolis that city must have a LOT of crime. I don’t even pay much attention to when it goes off for Indy. There’s always a shooting, a police shooting or something. I wasn’t surprised to hear you say that there were a lot of fire trucks with heavy damage.
You know the saying that "the grass is always greener..." but you only get one life and if there's nothing tying you down too much, go for it. You seem excited talking about it. I live about 15 miles from you and about that far from the shop, not a fan of the cold either so this mild winter has been great, I feel the same way about packing up and trying somewhere different as well. It's not bad in Wisconsin for the most part though
That Phillips 66 just down the block from where you delivered has some good food. Kentucky and Raymond streets
Thats good yes sir yall need a new start for a new years brother would ve great seeing yall all together and close to the Gentry's
Try Morristown I've lived here my whole life. Its between Knoxville and Bristol.
Its nice here and its a great town and its growing alot right now... I would say its growing much faster than Sweetwater.
I agree, I only watch because he’s old school and because of the truck, I like anyone who knows how to beat Innovation and Capitalism!!! 👍😎👍
Great video Steve really enjoy all the different camera angles and your commentary and the music. They do maintenance the looks of there Equipment old and new. Yep I have to agree with you if it got lights and siren definitely got to turn on all the lights. Thanks for sharing stay safe Steve.
Have to look away from the video of inside the cab while driving , way to shaky for me. I know it's not your fault, it's the camera.
Love your content, I always watch.
The inside camera has the anti-vibration feature but it doesn’t work in low light operations.
Hay Steve
You and me both Steve looking at Tennessee as well. Found a nice country style home 2800 sq ft on 5 acres with more acrrs to possibly buy. Everyone's home already built with their own land so no new construction community which I loath but plenty of space and acres for what I need and want. My friend keeps asking me to come down their......and marry her lol.
Turning on the fire truck lights is something i would be tempted to do. Making it go woo woo once would also be very hard to resist.
Hawkins county TN probably find some properties. Zoning wasn't a big problem when i was looking a few years ago. Close to NC,GA,SC. You might as well come my whole small NC town is full of outsiders. At least you're a decent person.
Cabover, hauling a cabover content. epic.
Seen on Facebook news lots and lots of people are moving to Tennessee people from all over the world crazy
Theres nothing like an old cab over! Have a nice day Steve.
that is super cool seeing the Old Fire Engine
You’re almost pushing 100 k subs driver!
Keep on truckin
I drove a maxim about 40 years ago very cool truck
thanks been watching your channel dawhile now great stuff you do .....Orwell is a beauty of a truck ....thanks for sharing
youre doing a good job
You know it would look good on Orwell paint the rims with white spray paint
I live in Crossville on i40 u would like it lots of places around to build living here is fairly cheap
I don’t know anything about Manchester TN but Crossville should put Steve in closer proximity to parts and supplies for all his equipment.
Back when fire engines had three pedals!!!!
Here is a nugget for you. State of Ohio is supposedly going to emissions exempt all municipal trucks and state trucks bc of how much money it is costing them to fix and maintain the emissions systems. Sounded like it was all municipal trucks all they way down to the local township trucks
Figures.
IF you did that between you and Tim you both could keep Braxton busy and help further his nolage
I like those WD drives, but the cables are a bit fragile. The risk of bad Amazon cables taking out both drive and laptop is pretty high, so I pay more from a local vendor that has been around since 1977.
Good cold evening brother
The cab on that unit #19 Ford Tractor kinda resembles the cabs on the (Class A CDL) Ford Box Trucks that my dad drove out here in California back in 1981.
Cool 😎
Hey Steve, nice polish on the fenders over your drivers!
You could always find some land and convert the chapel trailer in to temporary housing and pay as you go build a home/shop
I'll buy a RV first.
I did at one time haul scrap steel for OmniSource to your left on Holt Road I know part of Indianapolis
FSC Trucking, how about putting one on the roof between the horns? I love the top view of the cab
I could. But it's very hard to get too
@@fsctrucking try tilting your cab to mount the camera before you head out
Like to see your work! Thanks!in $.A they run only cab overs and links!
great video as usual love the sound of orwell
Love the content Steve, but don't miss climbing under shit to chain it down! Especially JD Combines,,,,, then I went to haulin Fuel......2nd Greatest Job I Ever Had,,,,,🇺🇸🏴☠️🙏
If you look in Florida you look in Ocala it's a big trucking hub.I 10,75,95 and US 301 are right there. And land is affordable there it's northern central Florida. We have a weekend house in Ocala national Forest.
Good job bro
I'm sure Orwell is popular. Orwell is not a show truck, not glistening in polished aluminum, chrome, stretched frame, and custom paint. No, he's a working class classic.
You should use Disk Drill to try an recover your files.
That's one sweet old fire truck
Hi Steve from Ga. How’s your Dad ?
Love your channel and videos 👍👍
Have cash and when the property market shit's itself, which it will, that is when you can swoop in and pick up a bargain.
There’s still cheaper places away from the big cities in TN. Plenty of room to build a large shop on a residential property.
Try wheeling at Windrock in TN. I would ride with you.
You could buy a lot more ground in Tennessee. For what ground Would cost you in florida. Utilities are higher Fuel is higher groceries are higher Taxes Are higher. Move the tennessee you can have what you want for a lot less money.
Happy New Year Steve, How about Gatlinburg area of Tennessee? You are better off paying cash as mortgage rates at all time high.
From another utuber has nothing coming out of there freight wise and he has to dead head out most of the time I’d say Georgia NC Sc would be better another guy is very happy with Georgia because less traffic cheaper insurance and lots of wooded areas for the sideby and closer to places to get loads!!! Something I’ve also been thinking about and probably the way I’d go if I were to do it!!!
So sir I found you a forklift a forklift at a Nashville Illinois talk to Clinton at C&C equipment who's the fellow RUclipsr
Steve asked what is Indianapolis Fire doing to have so many crashes. Perhaps their Engineers are still expecting "steering wheel holders" and drivers on "auto pilot" to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles, expecting them to stop on red traffic signals and to actually hear and understand sirens and air horns. The US used to have enviable defensive driving statistics. Not any more!
I don't know, my cousin lived in Florida for a while and they went thru two hurricanes and one flood. So my thoughts are that you should do some research on Florida before making that move..
Did you wash at the Eagle Truck Wash At Ta russel rd? My best friend owns it, well he owns the entire chain. And your videos are atleast are following me like to a T. I don't know how old or behind they are but I just came through there yesterday and EARLY this morning.
When you fuel up do you get a rebate back with your fuel like australia does??? I learned a long time ago from a mate of mine to always do even litres or gallons for you because anything not even say like 50.20 .30 .40 etc gets wiped and they won’t give you a rebate on so every time you refuel which can sometimes be every day it adds up to a lot over the course of a year???
I've been watch you for a long time and I keep meaning to ask there has to be an easier trailer, instead of all the in and out of the truck?
I used to live in Manchester/Hillsboro right by the Arnold Airforce base. Its nothing special and too expensive for whats there going towards Sweetwater would probably be the move id make just not Manchester
It would look so good wet sand it and clear coat it.........
🍭SWEET🍭🙏🏼💖👍🏻🌞
I can't watch you're over the shoulder camera because of the vibrating too much. can you please fix that so I can keep watching your program !!!!😊
God didn't make little green apples, and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime. Don't forget your raincoat in case one of these statements is wrong.
My question is why is a lot of people going to Tennessee? I am just wondering about this. 😊
Is this a serious question? Where were you since February 2020?
How many litres are those tanks?, they are huge, probably should have said gallons
Question? I noticed that you always jiggle the Out Rigger Light (Time Stamp 28:35 in this video) before disconnecting the Goose Neck of the trailer. Why is that?
I push up the pin that holds it in. The pin hurts my back when I hit it.
Seems like everyone wants to move to Montana, Tennessee, Florida and Texas?
Yup.
Terrible work ethic in Tennessee, and lots of Wasps and Stink Bugs. No State taxes LOL 😂, but they make it all back double on the Sales Taxes. I’d try Austin Indiana or Seymour Indiana instead.
Too many serial killers were born and/or raised in Indiana.....
@@jsh6952 I only like Jimmy Hoffa and John Dillinger!!! 😂
Actually my favorite part of Indiana is “Decatur” Indiana, very nice town and nice friendly folks!! And they have a Super truck friendly Walmart!
Oh my word. two outside cameras with good views and no vibration. Inside cab camera, so much vibration I had to kill it. Love the content but can't endure the "shakes". Maybe before moving to Tenn. or Fla. you could splurge for a better camera ? Not trying to be a hater.
When you get in modern equipment how often do you stomp the imaginary clutch pedal?
What lever are you pushing to dump the rear air bags? I know its a stupid question.
An air valve
And what is your favorite car and what year
Florida’s full
What model of turbo did you put on orwell ?
So what do you think about Tim Gentry getting Jonny cash running again
I can't wait to see that rig going down the road.
Did that old firetruck have windshield wipers on the inside 🤔
Looked like it.
Dash lights out again ????
I was going to say. I am a few years younger than you and I have moved twice in my life. I really don't want to ever do it again
Hey man, which truck stop company is your favorite??
Steve, how long travel to Iillnoinis?
go see Johny Cash seeing as he finally made it run last night
End of this month.
If you move to Tennessee stay away from Knoxville area, Nashville area, and Memphis area, Chattanooga area. Not just the city themselves but the area around them. They’ve gone downhill so incredibly bad with homelessness and rampant hypodermic drug use and homicides.
Oh I'm aware
Why don't you talk to Gentry, he keeps saying he wants to get into the rgn business. Maybe you could help one another
Great idea!
WHY DONT YOU RUN ALUM WHEELS ON THE TRACTOR ??????
Can't watch the video cause the camera is shaking so bad it's driving me nuts.
what is premium diesel?
Premium diesel at kwik trip is #2 diesel with 30% of #1 diesel mixed in for that extreme cold weather.
