Pixel 9pro xl is very nice, but I ended up taking it back and getting the s24 ultra back. The aesthetics and screen of Samsung just make it seem more Flagship.
I switched from an S23 Ultra to a Pixel 9 Pro last week and have no regrets. Finally a smartphone that I can use completely with one hand and is handy. Never a brick like that again. I don't miss anything either, on the contrary. I bought the Pixel Watch 3 and am thrilled with it. In contrast to my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the Pixel Watch runs so smoothly and without any stutters or delays. Never again Samsung!
TLDR: They're both flagship phones, they're both great. I've had 2 Samsung Galaxy phones and the glass was extremely prone to cracking, scratching, and shattering at the smallest seemingly insignificant impacts, despite the claimed Gorilla glass. In 2021 I switched to Pixel 6 pro and I just upgraded to the Pixel 9 pro. The new phone is yet to be seen but the Pixel 6 pro after 3 years of use does not even have a noticeable micro scratch on the screen, and I have never used a protector with it.
How long do u think the tensor g4 will last ? I will probably use this phone for 4 years .. will it last for four years? And also have u tried Spatial Audio from pixel buds pro 2? I don’t get the effect when streaming with compatible sources?!
A lot of info but in the end it is what do you think ? I did not learn anything new. With these phones as it has been for awhile . A toss up. Best to check Costco to see if they give you the 30 day trial.
Always loved the screen real estate and industrial design of the iphone 12 and above but the OS made it unusable for a power user. But now that GOOGLE somewhat copied the look and feel of the device, i think i might swap the S23u for the new pixel. I am only bothered by the significantly underperforming cpu in the pixel.
Had an issue with my pixel watch 3 few weeks ago they replaced it with no issues courier brought a new one and I exchanged it with the courier at my front door no hassle at all but I have dealt with Samsung's bull shit before and it puts me off buying one of their devices again

I got both the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Google has definitely closed the gap with Samsung (and Apple) with the new Pixel 9 series. But as my daily driver, I'm sticking with the tried and true S24 Ultra.
Don’t be delusional. Google is not even a match for Apple. Android can easily be hacked, full of malware, unnecessary, uselessness features, suckish chip and so much shit
I'm in the same boat except the opposite been using the Pixel 9 Pro XL as my daily but wish Google would add the edge panel to the larger Pixels. I use the edge panels on the S24 Ultra all the time for multitasking and productivity purposes.

I like how this phone comes with the read aloud option when surfing the web browser. I'm not sure but I believe that I have ADHD and when I try to stay tuned to reading something it ends up with my attention being carried off to something else. So I have installed (read aloud) apps in my phones in the past but they seemed to only work in the app through copy and paste which is useless to me. With this phone I don't have to do that. I know this is small to someone but it's a win for me my iPhone 13 doesn't have that capability. lol I hope this is the start of my breakthrough to finally conquer this gift/curse.
Nice review-but I found the Galaxy's rounded edges actually made it _harder_ to hold onto, and easier to slip out of your hand, than the Pixel's square edges. Most of us will have our phones in cases anyway, which makes the edge shapes moot. You also failed to mention something that I, and many other people, consider quite important: Google's phones come with a clean, simple implementation of the Android operating system, where you can install just the apps you actually want. By contrast, Samsung's phones continue to be loaded down with dozens of "bloatware" apps (by both Samsung, and third parties with whom Samsung has made bundling deals) that you CAN'T UNINSTALL, and which most of us will never, ever use. If you check these bundled apps' reviews in the Samsung Store software app, you'll see many complaints from users who resent having no choice about all this extra, unwanted stuff cluttering their own phones. (Samsung never replies, BTW.) Isn't life complicated enough? 😬
Certain things with Pixel are just unmatched in my opinion despite the weaker processor. Things like the keyboard just work better with a Pixel. It's hard to explain until you've used Gboard with a Google device. The way that they've tweaked the experience is just so much more precise compared with other phones.
I much prefer the Pixel and its pure Android experience! Also we get the updates before anyone else. , I hate the S pen and would never use it. Also I got my pixel 9 pro for $999 not $1200
Was considering both, but finally bought the 9 Pro XL (literally 4 hrs ago) over the S24 Ultra, for the software and ability to unlock the bootloader / mod it Upgrading from a OnePlus 9 Pro
I never heard of replacing oleophobic coatings with any success. Regardless , the coating on the Samsung is alot more vulnerable to wear than the pixel. Jerryrigs showed that Samsung uses such a small amount of titanium on the phone it wasn't even worth measuring. It mostly aluminum and plastic. Disappointing compared to Apple 🍎
I had the S24U, decent phone but extremely overpriced in my opinion. Powerful camery, but i am not a fan of the color science especially night mode. Portrait mode, video, and selfie cam are brilliant. As mentioned in the video, the screen looks constantly smuged when off which is very irritating. I ended up getting the Oneplus 12 which i think is amazing, but out of the two phones having had one already, i would get the pixel 9 Pro.
Here's the thing, I am a Samsung customer since the S8+, S10+, S21U, S23U and now the S24U. My wife has been a Google fan all along, but realized that I constantly get great reception while she doesn't, so now she has made the jump to a Samnsung S24+. Not enough people are paying attention to the modem/radio in their smart phones. After all, it is a phone and you got to have the best reception available, Qualcom modem can not be beat yet.
I still have an S8 non + lol, I was thinking of switching to the Pixel 9 Pro XL because I can keep my same plan and it will only cost me $5 more a month until I pay of the extra $200. *Update* I got the Pixel 9 Pro for free, only paying tax and a service fee. My wife got the Pixel 9 Pro XL and in reality the size difference is negligible to me. Anyways we both love our new phones and are glad to be rid of the dreaded Bixby button lol.
The Google looks like a copy of an iPhone. Funny how with the Pixel 9 people are saying how exciting the design looks, whereas Apple gets criticized for staying with a design that works for them.

Pixels are unlocked and are so much more fun once you begin to root it with Magisk. Samsung locking a simple feature like video calling "for security reasons" was enough for me to stop being a fan of their phones and move to Pixel.
@junosgladius i don't know. Doing split screen on a pixel is such as task. On samsung with good lock and one handed operation, a simple long swipe to the left brings up split screen instantly. And it's just a tip of the iceberg as to how much you can do with it. No rooting required

In my opinion there isn't any reason to buy a top phone, they add just random items that you will use 4 time in a year. Idk what kind of use you do with your phone but i never needed any of the new feature that all this new phones have
Is there any added benefits to having a Samsung phone and a Samsung smart TV?
Just got a pixel after years and years and years on Samsung
So true about the "Close All" on pixel being in inconvenient
What’s up with the super cracked S24 Ultra screen at 14:24?
More scratch resistance. Not crack resistance 😂
I’m switching back to android. I’ve been locked into iOS. The now playing feature is sick. I used it constantly when I had my pixel.
me to, ive dipped my toes back into ios this past year, and while it has worked flawlessly almost, its gone stale and boring and I want a pixel again !
Had a Pixel 6 Pro since launch. Got the 24 Ultra a couple of months back and... it's a great phone, but it didn't improve on much compared to the P6Pro, so I i returned it. Upgrades aren't what they used to be.
I love Google magic eraser. When you take a photo of your family but there's someone with a fluorescent orange coat standing behind them. Or a beautiful photo of a mountain, but there's orange escort in front of the hill. It's nice to get rid of those things cuz I don't want to remember those things. I want to remember the subject of the photo. I don't think it's changing reality to remove some stuff I used to do it in the dark room.
Tested both in a store yesterday. Pixel felt a lot smoother and cleaner just swiping around. Also the haptics while typing were better.
Thermometer is great for cooking.
I’m debating between p9p and S24+.
P9P > S24+
S24U > P9P
IMO
@@millville444 thanks. Already got S24+ because it was available so much cheaper (eBay refurb $670). But might go p9p for the wife’s as she’s also on a 5yr old phone.
Same, how is it so far?
@@PramkLuna P9P is the best phone I've ever used personally. Had it a little over a month now and I love just about everything about it. I also like how much smaller it is than the Ultras. It just fits my taste
I love Samsung's hardware and software features, but I HATE the look of OneUI... While I hate the look of the Pixel, but I LOVE the look of the Pixel Experience. How I wish Samsung would just ditch OneUI and go with stock Android.
Finally I may be making the switch! Yay! This display looks so so good this year. Color and everything. Like wow
The thing I don't get about the screenshots app is that the Google Photos app already does most of the same stuff. You can already search for objects or texts across all photos and screenshots on your phone. Some of the extra AI search and summarization features are cool, but it seems like they could just build everything into the Photos app.
Sony ult wear vs jbl tour m2 which ones do u think is better choice and why. I am really confused between the 2 plz clarify.
+ Should i save money and get jbl live 770 ? What r ur thoughts.
I think the oneplus should be in this convo. Yes it does have a tone of AI feats but it is the smoothiest software and hardware optimized phone
Oh definitely. Foldables as well. This isn't the last video I am making regarding the best android phone
I agree when it comes to smoothness and animations. I've always said OnePlus is the true Android of iPhone.
OnePlus 13 has just entered the chat 💪🏽
@@katinasoutherland7693why the hell would Android wants to be an IPhone, I mean the whole point of Android is to be different than IOS and more Creative for different kinds of people.
Pixel 9pro xl is very nice, but I ended up taking it back and getting the s24 ultra back. The aesthetics and screen of Samsung just make it seem more Flagship.
You mean this 🏳️ 🚢
I'm going to wait until the two companies merge then I'll get the
Google Galaxy Ultra Samsung Pro Pixel S249
Great video Mike. I really like both of those phones. Please send me one of them. Either one is okay. Thank you.
Yeah send me too Mike. I don't care if it's got cracked like @14:24
Pixel screen is better one of the best. Last time I was impressed with Samsung was s21u
Photos on pixel look real, which I like. I'm so used to samsung functionality, though.
On the Pixel .. can you assign camera functions (start recording / take a photo) to the buttons on the SIDE of the phone ?
does 8k preform better enough than 4k when zooming in at concerts?
I switched from an S23 Ultra to a Pixel 9 Pro last week and have no regrets. Finally a smartphone that I can use completely with one hand and is handy. Never a brick like that again. I don't miss anything either, on the contrary. I bought the Pixel Watch 3 and am thrilled with it. In contrast to my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the Pixel Watch runs so smoothly and without any stutters or delays. Never again Samsung!
bro i got a galaxy watch 5 pro imao, I feel the same exact way..
Google has call XYZ ONLY in US and other few countries. I think you should try changing country once to see what features are available
I found that Samsung customer care sucks when you have an issue. Anyone had experiences with Samsung/Google customer care?
Had an issue with my pixel watch 3 few weeks ago they replaced it with no issues courier brought a new one and I exchanged it with the courier at my front door no hassle at all but I have dealt with Samsung's bull shit before and it puts me off buying one of their devices again
Well for me it’s the pixel and that’s because I think it’s cleaner than the Samsung and I love that it just pure Android, also for gaming it’s the Samsung because of the chip, but I mostly plays game on my tablet.
I dont know about your s24 ultra prices but in middle east it's less than 950$ for 256GB model
Loving my Pixel 9 Pro XL. Also have a Galaxy S23+ for my work phone. I cannot stand OneUI. I have always been more of a Pixel fan when it comes to my personal phone.
I already have an iPhone 15 pro max. Which of these should I pick up as a second phone?
WHich one does he pick overall ?
How’s the shutter speed on the s24 camera. Have they fixed it?
Related your vdo related the size of S24 Ultra, I think that is Pixel 9 Pro XL not 9 Pro. Could you confirm?
I wanted to buy me the 24 Ultra but I think it could be worth it to wait till the release of the 25 Ultra. What do you think?
double tap for any app, not just snapchat.
I don't like how Samsung literally put a picture of the moon from their database over the real moon when you take photos of the moon, that is messed up.
I have a Google Pixel and my Google photos date back as far as the YEAR 2023 ONLY
I do not like all of the Samsung bloatware and I refuse to use Bixby. Therefore I prefer the pure Android experience of the Google Pixel phone.
As someone who rarely uses alexa/siri/hey google, having a dedicated Bixby button rather than a home button is annoying
Waiting to see if S25+ will have SD chip in UK or if we will get inferior Exynos
Im upgrading my phone at the end of this year and ive currently got an oppo reno 8 pro and im just wondering what would people suggest out of these 2. After i get an upgrade im wanting to keep the phone for at least 4 years and i use my phone mostly social media, youtube and a few other standard apps nothing major. So just wondering what people would suggest please?
But the dex feature is about to be released with android 15 and since pixel now supports video stream over usb-c
Is the Samsung ring better with the Samsung phone?
Oh Mike why will you break the display on the on the 24Ultra?
Please make a comparison bwn pixel and one plus... I ve been thinking about buying one of them but am confused. Thanks
Samsung is very fun w no limitations , they both have incredible AI and one thing I love about Samsung is the new one ui 6.1.1 sketch to image with my s pen
Using both, I am an engineer and amateur photographer. The S24Ultra is for me a much more useful phone.
Do you use the S24 for line tracing or drawings ? If so, what's your review on it ? I was thinking of getting one for the same reason
@@justin-marcmotilal7193 notations and documentation with photos. I find it very useful to annotate drawings and now photos of issues or projects.
I got both the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Google has definitely closed the gap with Samsung (and Apple) with the new Pixel 9 series.
But as my daily driver, I'm sticking with the tried and true S24 Ultra.
@@effend446 they closed the hardware gap a bit
Don’t be delusional. Google is not even a match for Apple. Android can easily be hacked, full of malware, unnecessary, uselessness features, suckish chip and so much shit
I'm in the same boat except the opposite been using the Pixel 9 Pro XL as my daily but wish Google would add the edge panel to the larger Pixels. I use the edge panels on the S24 Ultra all the time for multitasking and productivity purposes.
Gemini available for how much time ? is it like samsung AI which only till end of 25
Why does noone talk about the audio chip set, the audio quality and speaker loudness is one of the most important features. Wich phone is louder when connected via bluetooth, wich has louder speaker, does google use dolby atmos, wich is louder with a type c to aux head phone jack, wich phone has the loudest ringer. Wich phone has loudest speaker phone, do these phones have true stereo meaning, 2 speakers that play the sound or are they mono, uve not experience a better stereo speaker quality since zte axon. It was amazeing
hey, could you please please please do a comparison of all foldables? i like your deep dives like with the headphones and watches more than any other creator out here. great quality more power to your channel
Yeah I love foldables. I use them all the time. I just haven't made many foldable videos because they tend to not gain much viewership. With that said, I think it's finally time
@@MikeOBrienMedia that'll be great thanks in advance mike
been thinking of switching from iphone 15 pro apple has been underwhelming as of late
You also failed to mention something that I, and many other people, consider quite important:
Google's phones come with a clean, simple implementation of the Android operating system, where you can install just the apps you actually want.
was the pixel the 9 PRO or PRO XL?
XL
Certain things with Pixel are just unmatched in my opinion despite the weaker processor. Things like the keyboard just work better with a Pixel. It's hard to explain until you've used Gboard with a Google device. The way that they've tweaked the experience is just so much more precise compared with other phones.
Just for context...my old LG V60 can shoot 8K video no problem
If you have a Google Pixel already the trade in value can be really good sometimes and you can get the newest Pixel for almost free!
I much prefer the Pixel and its pure Android experience! Also we get the updates before anyone else. , I hate the S pen and would never use it. Also I got my pixel 9 pro for $999 not $1200
Was considering both, but finally bought the 9 Pro XL (literally 4 hrs ago) over the S24 Ultra, for the software and ability to unlock the bootloader / mod it
Upgrading from a OnePlus 9 Pro
so i wanna know how is customizing on the google pixel like is it like samsung???
S24 ultra gang ❤with galaxy watch ultra and buds 3 pro best combination ❤
I never heard of replacing oleophobic coatings with any success. Regardless , the coating on the Samsung is alot more vulnerable to wear than the pixel. Jerryrigs showed that Samsung uses such a small amount of titanium on the phone it wasn't even worth measuring. It mostly aluminum and plastic. Disappointing compared to Apple 🍎
What did Jerry say about the Pixel's frame? Was it durable, or just fluff like Samsung's?
This is the battle I've been waitin for!
Its Pixel 9 Pro XL not Pixel 9 Pro, please correct ypur thumbnails.
Mike Great Video really enjoyed.I've been wondering why they didn't have Satellite Years ago.On all.Always Enjoy.💯✌️
What do you mean by modem/radio? Any phone I had had a fine connection… what difference would I notice?
@@synop4538
As you know, any phone has to have this to be able to make calls or access data, that is where the modem comes into play.
@@synop4538
All I'm saying is that the Qualcomm chip supplies you with great reception and clearer call.
The Google looks like a copy of an iPhone. Funny how with the Pixel 9 people are saying how exciting the design looks, whereas Apple gets criticized for staying with a design that works for them.
The new rounded pixel is bleh
Hello, Mike. I've watched some of your videos in the past and they were informative. This is one of my favorites of your's so far.
I went ahead and Subscribed to your Channel. Thank you for the great content. What are your thoughts about next year's Pixels, the Google Pixel 10?? I currently have the Pixel 8 Pro. I am hoping Google knocks it out of the park with the 10 in 2025.
Owned every iphone up til the 12 pro max
Had the note 2,3,first gen nexus, one plus 6-10
My latest driver is my s23u. I love it, but dex doesnt work on my ultrawide, but works with my tab s8 11". Weird right.
Im going to keep my tablet and change out to a pixel 9 or 9 pro xl whichever one is the better sale. Slowly transitioning out of samsung because theyve been lazy innovative the past 2 years.
samaung always coming with super offers . You can find the ultra for 900 . at that price it is a no brainer
These two premium flagships look awesome in terms of design and their respective screen displays!
When it comes to camera photography, they both look great!
But, in the end, it would always come down to personal preference.
The 9 pro, the s24 ultra is waaay too big. It’s like carrying a brick.

Pixel's OS is clean but boring. Samsung with good lock is so much more fun.
When it works it's awesome
It gave me anxiety pixel os is for grown up android users .... I'm sorry 😅
@Obsidianconcubine except Samsung has Dex along with Link to Windows, Microsoft office, Webcam mode for zoom calls, split-screening, swipe gestures customization, etc. Entertainment is only 1 facet of what Samsung does.
I just really like the way the pixel looks
What about camera quality in social media?
