Clicked the video specifically to see if annihilator would be here. Their sound range covers basically everything else in this video and they've been doing it forever
Annihilator isn't one of the best but they're great. And I would credit Annihilator with really bringing back the old school sound in recent years. Everybody has started to release new older sounding stuff right now from Kreator to Megadeth to Xentrix, but I think Annihilator's 2019 singles kinda started the shift, from the new style where the bass is as low as in brutal death metal and all vocals are screams, back into what Thrash can be. But out of the classic 80's albums, I don't think Annihilator were among the best, even though they were great.
Nice selection of bands and songs. Some definitive thrash staples here for sure. Some definite runner ups would have been Testament "Over the Wall" , DRI "Suit and Tie Guy", Annihilator "Alice in Hell", and Suicidal Tendencies "Trip to the Brain". Awesome that Nuclear Assault was there. Handle With Care is one of my fave albums.

I know I've known and heard most of these over the years as thrash was the metal I was raised on, it's just been many years since it was my top genre. Nowadays I find myself more into melodic, symphonic, and power metal. Bands like Sabaton, Amaranthe, Beast In Black, Temperance, Ghost, etc. That said, I still love me some thrash. Of course I know all of them, I grew up with these bands! Some of the best thrashbands are missing, like Testament, Heathen and the mighty Forbidden! Forbidden´s debut is the best thrash album of all times!
From my top 5 metal bands ever only 1 is thrash metal, but thrash metal concerts are the very best by far, watching Overkill, Anthrax, Exodus, Kreator, Whiplash, Hirax, Dark Angel... live is always awesome and much more fun than a power, heavy, prog, or death metal show
I'm not the best when it comes to Thrash in general as I tend to stick to one band and just listen to them exclusively for a while but I'm thrilled you picked World Painted Blood. 100% best Slayer album
It's odd, I just got into the thrash subgenre this year and every time I lookfor thrash recommendations in playlists, it feels like very few of them catch the essential first generation of thrash I've been looking for. Glad you made the list, I'd heard most of them but now I have some more to listen to!
Well you've got the big 4 (megadeth, metallica, anthrax, and slayer) Your secondary 4 (exodus, overkill, venom, and death) The generic 4 (destruction, annhilator, testament, and autopsy) And the alternate 4 (Pantera, sepultura, kreator, and D.R.I.)

You know what? There's another discussion going on here at this mo, all about the new fission "milestone"... But I think we have the best conversion of energy right here. The guitarist is playing that thing with such ease, and yet I feel pumped listening.
I like thrash but got only like half right. There were a couple of bands there I have never actually listened to, but fair enough, I have heard of all these bands. Good, varied selection, a couple of the songs were surprisingly modern. For me, 1983-1990 or so is the golden era of thrash, but it was great to hear also more modern stuff🤘🏻
8/10 and one that I just got half right. I knew it was Kreator just didn't remember the name of the song. I missed on the Overkill and Nuclear Assault. Grew up in the 80's but now I'm 50 the memory is the first to go they say. But it sure was a great time.

Of course I know all of them, I grew up with these bands! Some of the best thrashbands are missing, like Testament, Heathen and the mighty Forbidden! Forbidden´s debut is the best thrash album of all times!
Right on! I'd add:
Corner
Believer
Annihilator
S.O.D.
Artillery
Devastation
Defiance
I couldn't agree with you more regarding Forbidden
Easier than the one on Death
Always a real pleasure to listen your records
Great video!! Was fun to play!! Your guitar selection was a bit of a clue for help!! Love the channel🤘
That was great. Only got about two but loved the way this was done
Didn't get only Nuclear Assault and Sacred Reich. I know these bands, I know the albums, but I just don't remember the riffs :D
Rad SLAYER pic! Yeah, I got stumped on Nuclear Assault even though I had the tapes and still have the VHS
(the full set VHS is here on YT, fyi!)
Same here!
From my top 5 metal bands ever only 1 is thrash metal, but thrash metal concerts are the very best by far, watching Overkill, Anthrax, Exodus, Kreator, Whiplash, Hirax, Dark Angel... live is always awesome and much more fun than a power, heavy, prog, or death metal show
So cool to see Sacred Reich included in one of these.
I love all kinds of metal but thrash has a special place in my heart, the chunk-tastic chugging riffs are so headbanging without being overly complex.
Well you've got the big 4 (megadeth, metallica, anthrax, and slayer)
Your secondary 4 (exodus, overkill, venom, and death)
The generic 4 (destruction, annhilator, testament, and autopsy)
And the alternate 4 (Pantera, sepultura, kreator, and D.R.I.)
Best Metallica riff ever, hands down.
2nd best to me. Nothing beats the Ride The Lightning opening riff.
I missed 2.. ughhhhh.. great playing! RESPECT 🔥 🙌
Detroit: become metal
Your tone's so freakin sick
excelente Bro amo estás dinámicas, los que amamos el metal reconocemos a las bandas.
THRASH TILL DEATH
Oohhh.... Arise !
Watched them in their world tour 92’. 🤘🏼
You’re the thrash RUclips goat bro 🤘🏾🤘🏾 I got 9/10, not familiar with Kreator a lot
ngl - at half of them I had that "raised index , blank stare , tipp of my tounge" moment . Damn it has been a minute since I listened to all these all day...
Отлично.Лучший трэш.👍✊
Я двух не узнал(
@@user-xerabora я sacred и assault)
@@nickmel623 это только для олдов из 80-90-х ) но банды недолгие и знаковые. Nuclear Assault, Cryptic Slaughter, Carnivore, S.O.D и M.O.D. и прочая кроссовер братия по сути заложили начало всему тому трэшу новой волны 90-х а потом и металкору
@@nickmel623 тоже самое.
Есть пободрее. Mortal Sin любой группе большой четверки даст просраться.
Let's see. Sepultura - Arise, Anthrax - Indians, Exodus - Toxic Waltz, Megadeth - Poison Was the Cure, Kreator - Enemy of God, Nuclear... that one, ouch :) Metallica - Creeping Death, Overkill - Elimination, Sacred Reich - The American Way, Slayer... well, I guess I'm 98% Thrash Metal. Killer video, keep 'em comin'! 🤘
Great choice in riffs. Only one I didn't get was Nuclear Assault, only because I don't have that album. Yet. Nice to see Kreator represented, excellent band, always delivers.
Excelent thrash compilation. Always love your playing. Great job
i only missed overkill! havent heard much from them sadly.. and i "barely" got the NA handle with care, even tho i listened to that on a loop back in '89
🤘Yes Bro I'm very² proud All this Top 10 Band is my FAVORITE till now I Never forgot to Listening 🤘Congratulations Bro 👏 👏👏
🤘🖤from Meghalaya 🤘
yes I like this Old School Thrash Metal Classic in the mid 80's to early 90's such as Metallica, Sepultura, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Kreator, Exodus, Sacred Reich, etc, reminds me when I was in Elementary School when I was so crazy with this all thrash metal bands !!!
Great video!
You know what? There's another discussion going on here at this mo, all about the new fission "milestone"...
But I think we have the best conversion of energy right here. The guitarist is playing that thing with such ease, and yet I feel pumped listening.
You are expanding my music library with every video i watch, i got over half these right but the ones i didnt get are already added
Same here I got under half. Knew the band but forgot the name of the song. I also never heard of a few of them.
Never was big on SACRED REICH. BUT I own all the albums from all the others here & then some!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is the video that introduced me to Exodus. I thank you with all my heart.
8/10 and one that I just got half right. I knew it was Kreator just didn't remember the name of the song. I missed on the Overkill and Nuclear Assault. Grew up in the 80's but now I'm 50 the memory is the first to go they say. But it sure was a great time.
Bestial Invasion by Destruction, Wall Of Steel by English Dogs, Any song by HAVOK were missing, but awesome compilation.
