Recently I learned to do big tucks on an airbag, keep in mind I was on a dj then. I went to my local trails on my fr bike and tried one on a decent jump, I got my hands off( not the biggest no hander) but when I landed my fingers were on the brake levers and I almost crashed when I broke down the landing. How can I prevent this?
Another episode of "HOW TO DO STUFF I WILL NEVER DO!" with Blake Sampson. I'm still working on "How to Manual" and that's been out from almost day one.
Alex Scott probally tuck as it gives you a contact point with the bike whereas a suicide is just, well, suicide. Unless you pinch your seat really strong.
depends on each person. For me (riding a dh bike) its easier to sui because u just have to pinch your seat. you need more skill for tucks ons bigbikes.
Well Damn! If only I had seen this before attempting the tuck-no-hander on MTB.. Made the mistake of pulling bars a bit too hard.. Getting smacked in the wedding veg with the top of the stem while in the air makes for a super sketchy landing... (unfortunately didn't get it on video, would have been a classic 'Fails & Bails' clip) Your video confirmed my mistake so will have a better idea of what Not to do next time I give it a go. Keep up the good work, :: I have several different types of bikes, would this be easier to get nailed on a BMX or 26in DJ bike? I already know it is not so easy on a 15Kg fat bike :-P
can i take a downhill bike to these jumps to learn tricks? my local spot has a jump big enough for no footers etc but for superman and stuff its not big enough
Certainly it's extreme but you have to be that level to do it. I would bet someone would do a tuck no hander on it. I would put a net below to catch a fail though.
i'll bet, Blake's gonna work as a teacher when he finished working in the bike industry...: "hello students and welcome to my class to day. (...) in maths too its as always, also on tuck no handers, practice makes perfect..." :-P
A tuck involves bringing the bars into your lap and tucking to hold it in place, the suicide tends to be done on bikes with a higher saddle so you can grip the saddle between your thighs. So essentially it's different ways of holding the bike in place while you take your hands off
Send us pics of your Tuck No Handers! Or even better...send your videos to First Try Friday! dirtshed@gmbn.com
There is! The winner will be announced on the upcoming dirt shed show :)
you dont need a good bike to shred my dude
Global Mountain Bike Network what happened to Blake's Canyon stitched 720
is it easier to start on a small jump or s bigger one when you have more air?

I went out today after watching the video, and got them within about an hour. I just need to work on my extension. Thanks a lot! :)
On a DJ bike or Dh or Trial bike 🙃

That, sir, is the best editing effort in the history of #GMBN. Respect to the guys in the background for that original rewind feat.

nice Video!
You guys should do a video on a lefty vs a normal suspension
I need to learn to send it first lol!!! Great vid!!!
Cool
is a suicide nohander or a tuck nohander easier to learn?

depends on each person. For me (riding a dh bike) its easier to sui because u just have to pinch your seat. you need more skill for tucks ons bigbikes.
id say the sui is easier because you only have to pinch your seat and doesnt require much tenciqze like Archie Hicks already said
I find the suicide is a bit harder to commit to but as easy or easier to actually get your hands off.
beefcake samson your a beast!
I don't know what a flip tuck is
Blake would u please demonstrate?

what grips is he running on his dirt jump bike?
hey please can we have a how to 360 video, thanks for this video because I really wanted to do that trick .
It's in the works :)
where are the dirt jumps u ride on for the videos
Can i do it in just a small kicker ramp
Are those Ergon GE1 grips? If so how do you like them for riding with bare hands?
They're great! We rarely tend to use gloves to be honest
Awesome thank you!
Who else likes before watching?
Teach Neil to do this stuff!
What if you have all mountain bike, which is lot biger than dirt?
i'm gonna try a hop tuck..
Honestly how long does it take to land this trick?
can i take a downhill bike to these jumps to learn tricks? my local spot has a jump big enough for no footers etc but for superman and stuff its not big enough
Sure can! The extra weight of a downhill bike makes it a bit harder but if you practice like Blake shows you you'll get it :)
awesome thanks, i will have to get the train down there sometime soon!
What bike is he riding in this?
i dont know how to wheelie, manual, jump or any tricks. But is still watch this😂😂
It's a very basic trick, just try it! Also, call an ambulance before you try ;)
What is more easy : tuc or suicide ?
Certainly it's extreme but you have to be that level to do it. I would bet someone would do a tuck no hander on it.
I would put a net below to catch a fail though.
I can't do any tricks yet... HELP
Quoting Bing Bong, "practice practice practice practice makes perfect", did I get enough practices in the quote? Lol maybe practice a few more times
Roger Neilson. Ok! I'm starting with the wheelie and then I'm going to progress onto manuals, pumping and bunny hops!
Where is that ?
Where is he from ?
sickk just what I wanted to try 🙄
RUclips should change the Thumbs-Up to Horns-Up
now, which should one learn first? The tuck or the suicide?
It's up to you! They're different techniques and just as difficult as each other
Global Mountain Bike Network Ok, thank you for the awnser :)
pro only
i'll bet, Blake's gonna work as a teacher when he finished working in the bike industry...: "hello students and welcome to my class to day. (...) in maths too its as always, also on tuck no handers, practice makes perfect..."
:-P
Why am i watching this i ride xc.
same here, but is cool, right?!
Your watching because u know that deep down you would rather ride dh and free ride and do tricks. Haha
a 420 video is always good
#askgmbn wehn i try a tuck no hander my knees always touchs the front weehl pleas help me
Can you do a tuck dab? ;)
my bike is 15 kilograms

holy shit ive never seen a bunny hop tuck no hander
Less dirtjumping, more real mountainbiking. Gmbn is nog wat it was before blake joined...
catastrophicness lol
I tried googling that word and I broke the internet...
Aye 420 hehe
I did a jump with only foot clipped in, not the best thing to happen to you in mid air :-(
Its not easy to make it look easy
I tried this and I almost broke my finger
Where is the difference between a Tuck no hander and a suicide nohander?

Pucha daplak na sana
