Blake! Im a huge GMBN Fan from the Philippines and i just wanted to thank you guys for all the knowledge and valuable resource of the MTB world. Cheers!
Love to see that Blake has done such a good job with joining GMBN! Look forward to all.of his videos informative, fun, funny, and well put together. Thanks Blake!
I do POV videos but don't care for the gimbal when watching them. They make the trail look much smoother than it actually is. While I do appreciate that they make videos more easily watchable, on the trails that I'm shooting, it isn't required.
You should do a series where you are just riding, no top 5's, no mentanance, no tips, no nothing just riding.... A 5 minute long clip of a presenter or a guest riding, i think it will be well watched. Thanks guys, keep the vids up they're amazing!!
Thanks this inspires me and gives me lots of ideas. Only issue I see is when I go to the mountain biking trails on the weekend theres always LOTS of people there. They would probably get in my shots and look at me weird in the bushes doing an intro lol
That intro was so funny! "Bikeeeeee!" "Where´s my bike?" Damn. I laughed so hard. It would be awesome if you ended the edit with a huge backflip. Greetings from Denmark.
If you read that, Blake, this is the coolest video I've ever seen! The "story" of this edit is soo good and the beginning is extra funny! 😘 I love you're explanation so much, never stop being the always happy Blake, and excuse me if my English isn't well, cause I'm from Germany 😊
thx for making this! love your focus on story. tech tip: for good slow motion, shoot 60 fps (frames per second) when possible, and with as much light as possible.
Blake that was a exo video loved it heaps, got me thinking what more camera's and gear needed. (Dam more wieght to carry since I ride to the MTB Trails). I'm 38 & No Car & Don't Want One. MTB For Life
Thanks for the helpful tips! I just got a GoPro max which I'm excited to use. I created an Instagram for my progress as an AK amputee. Learned how to ride a bike again two years ago
You are the man, you have a friend in the USA. I am a newbie to MTB and I'm 70 years old so teach me right.Great video thanks.Oh yea how about a video for old Mountain Biking Dudes.
Pretty sick dude I wish I could watch this video before , I wish I was this video before I break down my mind trying to figure it down the best angles and the best mount and everything I’ll use this material as advice
Brilliant helpful video bro!... As my vids suck atm.. I have a new gopro8 camera coming tomorrow so hopefully I can get out onto some trails and capture some bits.
I guess a bit of advice that you didn't give is, if you have a camera with analogue zoom, play with it. You can get different field of views out of it by increasing the zoom and moving it further away to get narrower types of shot, this can often give a more cinematic type of video. I have also heard that if you want to go for a cinematic experience setting your devices camera to shoot at 24fps makes a very large difference. You will get a much blurrier overall video though that will feel less fluid than the 60fps we are used to on RUclips these days. Combine that with a bit of colour grading and you would be surprised how close you can get a phone on a tripod to look like something much better.
I feel like a video on making an edit on more mellow trails would be interesting because that's what most people will be shredding and it takes more creativity to get exciting shots. Having huge jumps and berms is some of the most exciting stuff in the sport of mountain biking but I think the majority of people don't necessarily have access to them, at least in my case. I think a tutorial on how to film more natural and mellow trails would be useful for many people aspiring to create video edits.
Sick, you gave the bike a personality and that changed everything. Genius.
Sick edit man! My favorite is 7:14 that jump to manual is unreal.
Next video mountain biking photography
TuukkaSilventoinen that's what the bike vault is for!

I've been waiting for this video since they announced it on the dirt shed show 3 week ago.
Blake, you're just the right man that GMBN needed!!! Thank you so much for these videos!!!
Love to see that Blake has done such a good job with joining GMBN! Look forward to all.of his videos informative, fun, funny, and well put together. Thanks Blake!
I quite enjoy watching POV videos and edits, providing it's stable! I use a gimbal and has improved the quality of videos massively!
TrailRiderMTB I like POV footage too providing it's a good angle. I just wish gimbals weren't so expensive
I do POV videos but don't care for the gimbal when watching them. They make the trail look much smoother than it actually is. While I do appreciate that they make videos more easily watchable, on the trails that I'm shooting, it isn't required.
Love the intro. The rest was pretty sweet as well. You need to throw in the knuckle smash on every video! That was hilarious!
really nice Blake!!! you and gmbn really motivate me to do more with my bike.
thanks
Once again thrilled with another video, SICK!!!
It is a great video! and to be honest it is far more than just a video! it is a combination of skills of riding, filming and editing! A piece of art!
More videos like this!
This was really informative and inspiring.
Daang Blake, you know your stuff. Well done and helpful video!
Great edit but i want a "how to" on that jump landing into a manual...sic
You should do a series where you are just riding, no top 5's, no mentanance, no tips, no nothing just riding.... A 5 minute long clip of a presenter or a guest riding, i think it will be well watched. Thanks guys, keep the vids up they're amazing!!
This
Really like this GMBN presenter. Cool stuff
Thanks this inspires me and gives me lots of ideas. Only issue I see is when I go to the mountain biking trails on the weekend theres always LOTS of people there. They would probably get in my shots and look at me weird in the bushes doing an intro lol
You don't necessarily have to do it vlog style...you could just get the shots of you riding and put them together into an edit!
yes thanks I am working on one. Couldnt get as many angle though but I will next time

Tip number 1. Do this kind of thing in the week when it's quiet not at the weekend when it's really busy as you will likely piss people off
I don't even know how to put a negative comment on that. That was well worth watching.
you just sparked an idea in my mind for my next sick edit, thanks Blake.
Blake that was a exo video loved it heaps, got me thinking what more camera's and gear needed. (Dam more wieght to carry since I ride to the MTB Trails). I'm 38 & No Car & Don't Want One. MTB For Life

Great Edit man !!!👍🏽 Load it up to pinkbike we make it Video of the Day😉💪🏼💪🏼
Although it should go without saying, I'll say it anyway: Don't use copyrighted songs if you don't want to have your video nuked 😜
Nice edit! 👍🏻
I learned a lot from this video! Like this takes way too much time away from actual riding... so I'll leave it to you guys to make the videos.

Bangers, no gash... 👌
good riding and filming Blake..
thank you I figured it took many takes, so I'm just going to have to do it this way...
Key burns can be used to make it look as if the camera is panning, creating focus to the rider.
Him: Everyone has a phone in there back pocket
Me: Laughs in B R O K E
Great advice Blake thanks.
