Doddy, of all the MTB channels I follow, the work you do at GMBN Tech is the content I most look forward to each week. Your professionalism and depth of knowledge is without peer in the industry and you have selflessly taught me a wealth of bike knowledge, which has helped progress my riding abilities and skills as an amateur mechanic for my small fleet of family bikes. Thank you so much for what you do, and keep up the great work!
This was so interesting. Doddy is truly one of a kind. It’s inspiring to see someone go where his heart leads, weather the ups and downs, then eventually get rewarded for it. We could all learn a bit from Doddy’s story.
Thanks Doddy! You’ve taught me so much about working my bike. It’s great to hear your story. Your love of all things bike shines through in every video. Now I know why!
I did bike testing with Steve for MBUK in 1990...rode some races with him too. Did not know until now that he is no longer with us. When did he die and how? He was a lovely human.... remember doing one test near Oxford and he was late-very late, when he finally arrived his lateness was due to cycling up from London!!
Young Doddy dad looks just like Doddy, even the hair is similar. Went to school with Darren Mabbott, he was mates with my brother and I was best mates with his brother for many years. He was always a bit bike obsessed but I'll whisper this he was a roadie at school. Still remember him and another mate of his going on what I considered mad length rides. I got my first decent bike from the kid he rode with. Great seeing he's doing so well.
Yeah, who's who in a couple of those pics Doddy. Thought I'd drop a comment saying that I love this series, it's a great idea and have really enjoyed them all. Keep up the good work folks.
Pretty cool to get your backstory. I remember you from back in the MBUK days, and valued your opinion back then, right up to today. As a rider, who's had a few breaks from the scene, it's really nice to see so many familiar faces still around and still leading the way, keep at it, Doddy, you're a star.
Thanks Doddy for literally getting me into MTB! I stumbled over your videos on GMBN Tech about 2 years ago while thinking about getting into the sport. Now I am totally addicted both to riding and everything all of you guys do at GMBN.
Doddy is the man. passion just seeps trough his every pore when it comes to mountain bikes. it is fun to watch him talk no mater what is it. don't ever change Doddy!
I mostly watch GMBN because of Doddy. He's such an encyclopedia of bike knowledge, everything I know of MTB tech and maintenance is from him. Doddy is my favorite Presenter: he's not a Racer, not a freestyle rider, but just a guy who loves bikes and just loves to ride. Keep up the great work, Doddy!!!🤙🤟👍
Wow Doddy, you are the perfect example of figuring out how to make a living doing what you love the most. These are the happiest people on earth , I think. Thanks for letting us know you better. I really enjoy your work.
Doddy, another beauty on the GMBN squad. I’ve loved this series - knew Blake, Anna, Martyn and everyone were legends, but these autobiographic videos are so neat. You all hire real ones over there - happy to be a part of the community. Thankful for all of ya!
Totally agree! I’ve found myself watching less of GCN since Jon stopped doing his tech videos. I wish he had a GCN Tech channel like Doddy’s. I know he would be excellent, too. Keep up the good work, Doddy! The tinkerers salute you.
I miss the old days of print. I was a hack on the motorbike mags for eight years, the time before digital ripped away the readership - and the ad money! Good times, but nothing lasts forever. More power to your collective elbows Doddy and GMBN and keep up the excellent work.
GMBN would NOT be the same without the legend Doddster himself. Such a cool guy. Keep uo the amazing work dude. Watched hundreds of tech type videos on all sorts of channels and no one does it like Doddy. Give the man a pay rise 🙌
It's so easy to like Doddy.. Plus he's one of the main reasons I have money to spend on bits, because of all the money I save doing home maintenance,. Thanks Doddy 🤜💥🤛
I have been wanting to say for a while that I'm am totally stoked you are on mbgn. I used to be an avid reader/ subscriber of mbuk in the early naughties. I loved your tech articles, I even learned how to lace up wheels thanks to you! I still have the cartoony stickers on my toolbox of you, Ashton and the rest of the team from the magazine. Great work Doddy 👍
Doddy, thank you for this. Hearing you’ve been inspired by Steve W explains a lot about your approach to us ‘out here’. GMBN obviously gains income from the industry - this is good, it maintains production standards. But your dedication to saying what you think, evidencing your opinions and ensuring manufacturers and your audience are aware of the shortcomings of products, ideas and trends as well as the benefits of new ideas and so forth is, if not unique at GMBN, it is most easily observed in your productions amongst the presenters at your company. You have made the best of the freedom your channel offers to address topics (skills, trends, techniques, routines) as opposed to just products. Topics require ‘stuff’ to illustrate a point, so that’s good for the manufacturer, but you maintain the focus on the skills or whatever, not the illustrating product. Others at GMBN as a whole have this skill and Steve comes to mind over at ‘the electric channel’, but you are your company’s exemplar - well, the industry’s exemplar. So, thank you for this opportunity to say thank you🥳
This is so, SO awe inspiring. I'm so glad to get an introduction to the person who basically taught me all there is to know about fixing my own bike. Cheers mate 🤘
What a great story and career path Doddy. I only discovered GMBN and GMBN Tech in the last 18 months but it’s completely reinvigorated my love of mountain biking again and that’s definitely helped by your brilliant presenting and features. All the best
I've learnt so much from your GMBNTech channel and all the GMBN content. GMBNTech is a great channel Doddy and you can be very proud of what you've achieved with it. Great Meet the Presenter episode 👍
Thanks for the video, Doddy! I've recently gotten back into mountain biking, and GBMN has been an invaluable resource for me. I really enjoy watching your videos during my downtime. Your story was quite engaging, and it brought back memories of the 90s when I started with MBUK magazines and Mint Sauce. Keep up the fantastic work, and thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences!
Really enjoying these introductions. For me, I just use MTB as exercise and pass time, but I'm very inspired in my own work and career path by the stories you all share :)! Thanks for sharing, yours is a great love story of living and making it your career.
I remember reading MBUK all the time when I was a young lad (probably between 2008-2012) Doddy had a yellow transition hard tail as a longtermer. I really wanted that bike.
don't ride MTB anymore but really interesting to hear your story Doddy. I grew up reading MBUK, in fact I even remember that cover edition! Great times, and amazing to hear how you're rightfully cemented in the sport. Oh and Steve Behr let me and my mate help out with his photos at what must been 06 Mayhem, cool memories!
I remember catching your show and with watching you GMBN RUclips I didn’t realize that was you. I really enjoy watching you’re tech videos even though I don’t have a newer bike. I did work in a shop back in 94-95 and still have my bike from that era. Family kinda slows you down sometimes. But keep up the great videos. I really enjoy them. Thanks!
Well done Doddy. the way you can portray a message is awe inspiring, being a technical person myself, albeit in a different profession, I understand how hard it can be to get a message across in a away that makes it simple enough for all to understand, whilst still covering the technical aspect and keeping the audience engaged. you manage this flawlessly I truly love your videos and look forward to the tech updates.
Have been a doddy fan since the early mtb uk magazine days had a subscription almost 20 years ago in aus as the aussie mags were all just adds no real reviews always loved your work doddy look forward to more thumbs up from down under 😊😊😊😊
Thanks for this, I really appreciated the way you talked about making that change from your dream job to the next step to get you where you eventually are. I've been wrestling with something similar and you put it to words really well.
Thanks for sharing, Doddy. Really trust what you have to say and really enjoyed hearing about how you came to be at this place in your career. You do a tremendous job. Love how geeked out you get about bikes.
Definitely dropped the rabbit in headlights look over the time i have been watching. Found all the content interesting as a newbie mamil (4yrs). Still trying to sneak a bike past her indoors! Congrats on another great video. 👍👍👏👏👏👏😊
The Sir David Attenborough of bikes. Thanks for everything, Doddy. You and Martyn are MTB nobility.
GMBN wouldnt be the same without doddy, keep up the great work pal
Doddy, of all the MTB channels I follow, the work you do at GMBN Tech is the content I most look forward to each week. This. So very much this.
This was so interesting.
Doddy is truly one of a kind.
It’s inspiring to see someone go where his heart leads, weather the ups and downs, then eventually get rewarded for it.
We could all learn a bit from Doddy’s story.
Doddy's story is such an inspiring, following his heart and achieved it all. What a great man.
Honestly done a brilliant job presenting this show. Spat ya self on the back and one from me
Thanks Doddy! You’ve taught me so much about working my bike. It’s great to hear your story. Your love of all things bike shines through in every video. Now I know why!
You're all awesome presenters at GMBN!
You all compliment each other. Love watching you Doddy. Passionate 100%
Great video. You know it's good when you realise that 20 mins has gone in a blink of an eye and you still want more.
Launching into the hedge will always be part of your legacy at GMBN, Doddy. Cheers!

„Are you a hoarder?“ - hesitates a moment before answering. Can we ask Ms. Dodd the same question?
Doddy strikes me as a hoarder
He is not a hoarder, he is an archivist of cool bike stuff.Nice video.
Doddy is the reason I tune in each week to learn something new with bike parts or the industry in general. Keep up the good work
Young Doddy dad looks just like Doddy, even the hair is similar. Went to school with Darren Mabbott, he was mates with my brother and I was best mates with his brother for many years. Love the old photos from late 90's/early 00's. That's when I was riding hard and loved every minute.
Thanks Doddy for literally getting me into MTB! I stumbled over your videos on GMBN Tech about 2 years ago while thinking about getting into the sport. Now I am totally addicted both to riding and everything all of you guys do at GMBN.
I'm a roadie and I always enjoy watching Doddy's clips!
Doddy is the man. passion just seeps trough his every pore when it comes to mountain bikes. it is fun to watch him talk no mater what is it. don't ever change Doddy!
Doddy, as a german, i sometimes have a hard time to understand you, but you are a real gem for the MTB scene and i love GMBN because of you….and Anna.
I mostly watch GMBN because of Doddy. He's such an encyclopedia of bike knowledge, everything I know of MTB tech and maintenance is from him. Glad you enjoyed it
I wish GCN do the same for Mr Jon canning.
I hope doddy could talk to him to appear on the screen once again.
He's done a couple of things on GCN+ I know it's not the same but...
Totally agree! I’ve found myself watching less of GCN since Jon stopped doing his tech videos. I wish he had a GCN Tech channel like Doddy’s. I know he would be excellent, too. Keep up the good work, Doddy! The tinkerers salute you.
Great to here your mtb journey. Love watching the gmbn tech show. Always something to learn from you Doddy. Keep up the great work.

Very cool story. Learned so much from your awesome videos over the past years. You are one of the best presenters out there.
Love the different hairstyles throughout the years!

You guys should do meet the editor
