I have a 2023 GRC RZ (Japan model) and I'm just starting to mod it soon with intake and exhaust. Eventually I'll go IC and down pipe but where I'm at in Japan I have no support for tuning or even a dyno here. Hopefully when it comes time to tune ecuteck will work out for me
In Australia with my gr4y . Stock equipment throughout and loving this little thing. I’m looking to USA gr4C tuners and this ecutech video has my attention up. Really like this site fellas .🇦🇺❤️👍
Hell yeah well if your ever interested in a tune let us know we tune Yaris’s as well!! Or I’m sure I can link you up with some of our friends from down under!!!!
@NemtecRacing I also have a gr yaris rallye in Australia. Really happy with it, but Considering a tune. Wouldn't mind 300hp at the hubs. Out of a 3 cylinder. Only mods are all types fabrication cold airbox ( same as motive video) turbo smart duel port bov. Single exit exhaust from lamspeed. Project west intercooler.
@NemtecRacing have you experienced the corolla backing the power back off after the car has heat soaked? I've noticed with other tunes that the car reverts to stock power once everything is hot from trackwork.
Oh yeah…. That’s why Intake and intercooler is the biggest upgrades for a “stock” car. Both our corollas do. The knock learn tables in the ecu restrict the car automatically take timing out of the car when it gets hot that’s why it dips on power
Yeah, I have a full intercooler with larger pipes, intake, motorsport cat, oil cooler and water spray as well as various bonnet vents but its still pulling things back to oem power.. im hoping the ecutek will allow my tuner way more ability to log the car on track, then tune it to at least keep some of that power when it's hot. Currently I'm only getting full tuned power for short hits and pulls.
@@BanzaiYarisahh gotcha. I assume your dealer sells the EcuTek phone flash kit but if you need a kit or custom tuning support let me know my instagram is in the description of the video. Always down to help as much as we can!
I'm in Central Wisconsin, would it be more or less $$ to have this done in person vs back and forth between the phone app. Also what kind of turn around time(estimated) for valve springs, cams, head studs and rocker retaining clips. Great content as always.
Can you dm me on instagram? John_pharaoh. If you’re serious about the head work I’d want to hop on a phone call and explain it more in depth. ( easier on the phone rather than texting)
thanks for the info, answered most of my questions.. but curious to know if i had the same bolt-ons but wanted a 91 and 94 tune.. would i have to buy two separate maps? or is it included with the initial purchase.
Yes it’s two separate maps we normally charge another 150-300$ per map depending. So for your setup you’d be in it for around 1200-1300$ depending on your ecu. Cause although the cars are the same the ecus have minor differences
in a place like Colorado where MSL Altitude is over a mile and temps range from -5 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit , do you think I would need a multi tune setup to run efficiently all year or just go for an average targeted tune? I am positive that air pressure/ humidity and temperature cause huge fluctuations on my daily drive, I can feel the lag and the heat soak like day and night (literally from day to night)
We have a customer in Colorado Springs already and we have made big improvements with his car and definitely made his car better. A new intake and intercooler is definitely a worth while upgrade aswell. We might have to make an adjustment to the tune for winter etc but we’d figure that out!
Whats the best route for burbles/pops to be tuned in? Will a 400cel cat be high flowing enough? Besides your grc, i've heard a few yaris sound pretty sweet
It would probably be ok. But the cat might deteriorate over time and blow out at some point after thousands of miles. But yeah a 400 cel cat is fine. We are going to be making a video about the new mst downpipe next week
So your saying with the current car & mods avail, you can get just as much power on a 91/93 tune so ethenol is not needed at this point. But does it make sense to do a mild E30/40 tune that makes the same HP/TQ as the 93 tune, but wouldn't it be safer because the knock sensor/ecu would never pull back timing/boost? Just wondering if it would be safer to run an E tune even if it is not making more WHP?
Ethanol you can make more power on I just don’t feel comfortable with selling it to customers right now as a “finished product” It would be safer totally. And we can tune for that but it gets a little complicated because as of now there is no way to accurately sense how much ethanol you are running so the tune would basically be guessing what the car is running. So that’s why personally I don’t trust the e40 tunes for street cars. It’s different if your going to the track and you take the time to measure out the gas etc but for everyday use making sure your between e30 and e40 isn’t always the easiest. Ethanol is always safer but ethanol needs to run richer than running 91/93. So the map would have to be changed a little bit. It’s a complicated process and there’s more risk than gain
Ok, thanks for your reason....makes sense from your perspective. I think this becomes the responsibility of the car owner. If they want a tune for a certain E mix, they better be sure they are always running that mix. Personally I would be testing it every time I filled up and not drive hard until I made sure I added enough E85/flex until I had the proper verified mix, but not everybody would do that. Thanks!
Oh man I resonated with what John said about doing conservative tunes! I mean yeah I would love to run more power but i’m not going to jeopardize my car’s reliability. Shit i’m just a normal person doing payments on my car i dont care about being the fastest but i also want to have fun and do a tune on 91 to squeeze more power out for my personal enjoyment which is what every enthusiast should be doing. For your OWN enjoyment not to impress others in exchange for possibly messing up your car which you’re still doing payments on 😂
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 straight e85 requires more maintenance, ethanol blend should be fine i think. I would run e85 if I had a flex fuel kit but since the tunes are still in beta testing it’s smarter to not go full on e85 on the stock fuel system and internals. Just being safe is all
@boiipauly oh ok, yeah if you just pour e85 into the standard tank without upgrading injectors, it can potentially damage the engine, but with new injectors, e85 should be completely safe. I myself am waiting for ecuteks e85 calibrations, if e40 is getting 61whp, e85 will offer probably 70 or 80whp, at that point, I would just upgrade intercooler, intake, valve springs and clutch and call it a day
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 i got the intake and intercooler, currently looking around for an upgraded clutch. I ordered the ecutek phone tuner from nemtec and it comes this week so i’ll wait for their advice to see whether or not I need valve springs for a 91 tune

What does going back to stock look like? For those that have the Morizo, if they flash the stock tune on, is that your stock tune file from the core, or will they be able to flash their original Morizo one?
It doesn't work that way. They tune it safely like most, but not all, tuners are going to do. Any professional, reputable, honest tuner, like myself and these guys, are going to tune a car to run safely. If the safety margins and parameters are not there, they're not going to do it.
@NemtecRacing what if I bought the car used, and the previous owner tuned the car on ECUTek, is there a way that I or the dealer would be able to tell?
You don’t need any modifications for a basic tune. Or if you want the mods they will improve the performance but the car needs a specific tune for the mods
Technically our maps are ots but because the cars are so new we would prefer to take some data logs just to make sure the car is running correctly. Because they use like 4 different ecus in the corollas. So some cars might be just so slightly different
I'm a Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineer, Tuner, and I design cars for a living... can I tune the EcuTek myself? I obviously can do a lot with a car. Please help me out. I will return the favor a hundredfold, if I can.
@NemtecRacing Do you mean I would have to become a dealer of theirs? I'm a dealer for other systems, but not Ecutek, obviously. On some systems, a tuner can tune it without having to be a dealer, and on some, the end user can tune it themselves. I've been following your channel from the beginning, in case you noticed. Love the channel.
So the cable and license fee is 700$. And then our tune is only $400 dollars. So if you ever got more mods and need a retune it’s only ever $200-$400 more cause the $700 is a one time fee
That ecutek is gonna take this build to the next level.
