I always appreciate having Jill review vehicles because my wife is also short and very few reviewers can relate! Good work.
Neither one of these trucks is worth $90K. I'd take the Ram if it was $50-60K....
They sell one of that.
They wouldn't make them if people didn't buy them. Business owners love to buy them for the write-off.
@@hochhaulspoken from a non business owner. Do you even understand the concept of tax deductions?
I guess you won’t have either of these trucksy
@@hochhaulUnder normal circumstances, you'd be right. Post pandemic corporate greed has driven a lot of anti consumer practices, though. Maybe a lot of people will buy these, maybe I'm wrong, but reeks of an opportunistic move by truck makers to try and continue to capitalize on an auto market that was previously out of control.
Doesnt matter how either does. Only morons pay 90k for a cheaply made truck, but because people still buy them, they will sell them for that price.
Most of us won't even consider anything in this price range so these comparisons are meh. Who cares really.
Pickup truck plus SUV talk and TFL at this point is life styles of the rich and famous, they need a Robin Leach impersonator as a host.
The Ram Tungsten might be worth 90k if they put the Viper V-10 in it again. It would be great to see an SRT-10 brought back.
It would be much faster than the hurricane@@hochhaul
This shows your ignorance. Those trucks are not cheaply made. They're just as nice as As any luxury car especially the ram.
I respect Jill's Choice and understand her reasons why for choosing it, but I gotta pick the Ram. I just like it better.
you are definitely in the minority. There are reasons why Ram has 900+ days of inventory.
@@davidporter7051 Dude! I've been a fan since the 80's. This is nothing new for me. Stay true to your tuck tattoo.🙂
The shifter on the ram for me is a none issue, in 6 years of having it I have never grabbed the shifter to turn the volume up or down.
Agreed. I had one in 1500 before I got a 2500 and I kinda miss it lol.
Plus it frees up space on the center console.
People really mistaking the shifter for the volume? lol. Sounds like something just to complain about. I had a ford and ram. Prefer the more space for the ram. And I don’t have to reach for my drink holder like the f 150.
Love the dial shifter on my 14 ram.
Dial is better than buttons like chevy. But I prefer column shifter
That's why I'm keeping my 2017 Ecodiesel Ram. Paid for and has been troublefree for almost 175,000 miles. Averaging over 30 mpg, too. Would have bought a new Ecodiesel if they hadn't stopped making em.
Probably the only running 2017 EcoDiesel today.
Everyone says they suck lol
I have a ‘21 Laramie and got used to the dial shifter very quickly. If I drive my wife’s Acadia, I reach for the dial. As other’s have mentioned, I don’t need all that luxury and bells and whistles.
I would have to go with the Ram seems more like a luxury truck than the Platinum for the price .
The truck with the dipstick is the winner. Tim you really need to press ram on why a work truck doesn’t have a dipstick…..
So true .giant fail .
I get one on Tuesday. The video was misleading. Too many people took that comment to heart. I think the Ram has a dipstick.
@@Pickuptrucktalk it doesn’t. You check it in the gauge cluster. Relying on a sensor is a terrible idea. I say as bad as an off road without tow hooks.
@@nordlandak6853 Gotcha. I want to double check for myself. Video for sure on that.
There is no dipstick and I deliver parts to dealers and I talked to mechanics all the time and they are working on these right and left he says they're pieces of s***.
The RAM hands down takes it. The ford styling is a little boring for my taste. I love that ram has now put speakers basically everywhere 😄 and 23 of them paired with that 1200 watt system must sound incredible. The interior styling is 👌🏾 and that panoramic roof would always be open if I had it. I can't say enough about Tungsten trim. 90k is a lot, but If I could I would have one or better yet wait a few months for the RAM charger.
I think Dodge has set the bar higher than what other manufacturers can keep up with.
I'll stick with my 2015 Ram Power Wagon. It's got this feature called "PAID FOR!"
@johncotter, 👏👏👏. Now that’s good 👍🤣
Ram
I've owned 3 Ford Lariats, 2 Ford Platinums a Ram Longhorn and currently a 23' Ram Limited. My favorite out of all were Ford Lariats with the 2.7 ecoboost engines. Enough luxury and conveniences but preferred the 2.7 over the 3.5 for gas mileage of 22.5 average with plenty of power vs the 3.5 eco getting 20 mpg but still a great engine. I also prefer Ford's horizontal display layout vs Ram's vertical display layout. My current Ram does ok at 19 mpg avg with the 5.7 hemi etorque but has a lot of electrical glitches. I'm now 76 and plan to trade the Ram next year with whomever comes out with a decent PHEV truck. I was considering the new 25' Ramcharger but have decided it's going to be way too expensive. I'd love to see a Ford 2.7 hybrid or PHEV but doubt that's in the works. I've heard the 25' Ranger may offer a PHEV next year or may the Honda Ridgeline.
Ram's had a good phone holder arrangement for years now, my dad's 2017 has similar, and its super convenient
Id rather have the RAM, but Laramie is as high a trim as I would go. Even thrn, only used. Lariat for the Ford. If Ford would put a better 4WD system an SXT with a 2.7 would be a great truck.
Ford has a phenomenal 4wd system. All trucks get a 2 speed transfer case. Almost every truck on the lot has a rear locker as well. They have a proven reliable system.
If you don’t believe me google any twin turbo regular cab coyote truck. Most push 1000hp with a factory factory transfer case and factory front end components.
Man, that Ford looks old in the inside compared to the Ram. I dont understand why so many new rams dont have the barn door tailgates. Seems like every GM i see has the fancy tailgate. As a owner of a 14 ram 1500, i absolutely love the dial shifter. Out of the way and easy to operate. Ppl just hate on something that's different.
Ford's options and looks are much more flattering. Ram still has a beautiful truck though. Just seems like it's missing a bunch of things when you really dig into it.
I love my 2021 RAM Longhorn, which is a very good truck. And Jill is adorable...
No way I would pay 90k for a dam pickup truck!
Cool. That is why they make Bighorns and XLTs. Pick the one that fits your price. These are for a very specific small market.
90k for a six cylinder truck that gets 15mpg... Hopefully people line up to buy these wonderful pieces of engineering.
Ram all day
Hands down the Ram.
The truck with more physical buttons for interior controls. Also the one with more payload. Payload > overkill on interior weight.
Ram trucks in the top trim levels tend to have terrible payload. I recall seeing Ram Limiteds with just 960 lbs of payload. Comical when Ram still rates them to tow 10k lbs.
@@hochhaul HAHA, that Ram could be driven by an ant and still be 40lbs overloaded !!
Not sure on the 25+ Rams but 19-24’ Tow hooks were always optional unless you got a Rebel or optioned it with the Off-Road Package. They can always be added at the fact. I had to add them to my Laramie.
I still think the passenger screen is dumb. If you’re a bored passenger, would they just play on their phone, and does the airbag go over it in a crash?
I have a 22 Ram Limited ED and have one dislike. I wish Ram would do the side mirrors like FORD, Lower them, they aren’t in the best location, especially the trailer tow mirrors for they are larger.
Rides great and super quiet cab.
At this price point, the RAM has a far nicer interior which is more on par with expectations. That said, Ford does a lot of the "truck: things better. Id get the F150 in a different color and wheels. That said, Ford needs to step up their interior comfort game.
Ford interior comfort inferior to Ram? Is this the reason why the F-150 is 50% more popular than the Frankentruck?
@@davidporter7051 As he stated, the F150 does a lot of truck things better. I too would choose the Ford but their high level trims interior need a lot of work for the premium price they want to charge. There is nothing wrong with saying the competition has somethings that are better. That's what drives improvement and changes in the truck you prefer. Ford is over reaching on price right now. I would not pay 90k for this limited as I don't see anything "premium" over their lower trims. The leather work is basic, screen small, Phone charging abysmal. Software is slow and subpar. I'm in the market for new trucks but this is not it. Ford better up their game a lot it they want to be in the luxury market and charge these kind of prices.
@@darpompie4354 Ram MSRP is higher, Ford is definitely more comfortable and completely out sales Ram and it isn't even a competition. Ram has lost over 40% of its sales since 2020. This is due to Ram doing just about everything inferior.
@@darpompie4354 Ford Fan here, and that's one area the F Truck is slipping on....value for money on the top lux trucks !!
They're still finalizing pricing because they're realizing they screwed up and priced too high.
Platinum Plus is a package and looks alot like the old limited, i.e. chromed.
The base platinum looks like it has the blackout package without the dual under bumper exhaust.
To me the ram has more responsive steering and rides better.
But both are too expensive.
It's ridiculous ford doesn't put rear wheelwell liners on all trucks.
yeah that's why roughly Ford sells 700K+ trucks year over year.
The key code drivers door is huge. I often go places and leave my keys under the seat. It’s more convenient than one would think.
I used to have a ford with the key pad and I was always surfing, now I have a ram rebel and I love everything about it but I really miss that key pad 😕
Same here dude. Every time I go to the lake or beach I do the same thing. It’s an awesome feature they have had on trucks since the late 90’s and every ford I have owned.
I like the look of the Ram more. On either of these I’d be looking at one or two trims above the base model rather than premium. It is interesting to showcase all of the options that are possible.
How many people really abide by the payload sticker.....😶
RAM vs FORD! If we are going to truly compare trucks they must be fully loaded out to do a true comparison! If so RAM hands down, no truck on the market of all brands can compete with a fully loaded TUNGSTEN! Ram you should made room for tow hooks other than that RAM wins!
Gm had that feature of steps since 16 or 17 wonder if they stole that too with bumper step?
good one
I think I would choose the Ford but in a different exterior color. The RAM silver and chrome blend together and would get boring to look at IMO. Now, what else could I do with the lottery money 🤔🤔🤔
Has Ford changed the screen to horizontal instead of vertical (like the Ranger, Mach E, etc)? If so, I like the horizontal screen better.
The F150 has always had a horizontal screen and definitely since 2021 when they started with the 12". I agree with you horizontal looks much better!
I take the RaptoR
Those are both a great deal. I’ll take one of each. 😂
Poor ford people the hate is getting really bad. Jealous must really hurt.
The new #RAM is ridiculously amazing. Many are gonna trade in their luxury cars and supercars for these things.
Lol ram has 900 days of inventory on all their lots… people aren’t buying them.
Ram is also known for rather horrible build quality. Primarily regarding the electrical system, body control modules, and potentially this new untested engine. (Hemis weren’t exactly reliable… lifters, cams, and exhaust manifold bolds, all which lead to an obnoxious tick and thousands of dollars to fix)
@joshuaatkinson5810 what hurt ram is since stellantis taking over they over price everything
@@843MudMafia. the price hurt them and the fact they make a crappier truck than the new Fords which are also rather shitty…. Even the new Tundra’s are blowing engines left and right. it’s bad time to be a consumer
@@joshuaatkinson5810 ram needs a new tramisson and cab And bed
If you trade in a luxury car or super car for a truck you don’t need a truck you need a commuter…..
Reading the comments has the Ram favored over the Ford 3 to 1. I'm not sold on the Hurricane engine! I would buy a leftover loaded Ram with a Hemi and 3.92 gears!
Wow! Both trucks are very nice, but the Ram is definitely nicer on the inside. Neither truck is worth $90K however 😞 I agree with both you guys about the adjustable peddles, HELLO GM??? Why did you get rid of them? I had them on my 2003 suburban and I have them on my 2009 GMC Sierra. My wife is 4'11" and it is a big deal not having this adjustment, definitely a fail on GM!
RAM has it over the Ford all Day!!!
If you don't use it as a truck, lol !!
Ford is the way to go you power your camp site, charge someone's EV and pull someone out of the ditch with your tow hooks. Dodge is a big fail with that SUV frontend. Trucks have bumpers for a reason which cost less when you damage them, where in the Dodge you have to replace the whole front end since has no sperate bumpers like the Ford. That 1,000 pound payload in the Dodge is a joke.
I’d buy a Tundra 1794, save a little money, and it would be more reliable & longer lasting. Stellantis products go to the dealer with too many weird problems.
Read Consumer Reports! Ram has best reliability. Tundra ranks 3rd!
Is Jill sitting on a phone book?
Nope. 😂
Ford who need a Fiat!
The Ford interior isn’t even remotely close to the quality of the Rams interior.
60k Max for either one.
I couldn’t imagine owning either one after the warranty expires. Yikes!
I would pick the ford limited hybrid for my truck to buy.
Love my F150 limited but that RAM's interior blows Ford away.
The Ford still has physical controls which more people are asking to have, but you'd be happy to have either truck as less of a truck, and more of a limo with a big storage bin out back. Must say that Ram's 1050 lb payload was really pathetic though !!
Both are nice but the RAM is using a brand new unproven engine and knowing RAM (or any domestic for that matter), it will have a lot of problems for the next 3-5 years before they work them out. I'm in the market for a new vehicle and like the RAM and find the hurricane engine interesting, but they burned me on the 3.0 Ecodiesel 10 years ago and I don't trust them. It's not that they made mistakes with it, it's that they did everything they could to avoid making it right for their customers. Ford and GM are guilty of that too. Toyota is having major issues with their new powertrains, but I believe they will step up and make good on fixing them as they have in the past when they had issues.
I have a 1999 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 and a 2018 F150 Sport 4x4 with an Ecoboost. I'd take the Ram here. BUT not for that price. I feel like both of these trucks should sticker for about 60 grand, not no $90,000! They can keep both 🤷♂️
Loool Platinum Plus was a name of a strip club in Kentucky
Ram wins.
Ram loses no tow hooks, no real bumper and no payload makes for a poor SUV and not a good truck.
Two beautiful trucks on a Jill's point of view
Plastic bumper, no tow hooks, no dipstick and Chrysler ‘reliability’, I’ll pass 😂
Ram trucks are good, you need a update
The bumper is not plastic, its metal behind the skin.
@@oshayworrell1934 Because ram has no separate bumper it will cost more to replace that front end cover. Not having tow hooks when this thing gets stuck in the MUD you be tearing that front end up with no tow hooks in the front. The Ram is a poor choice for a truck.
90k for a half ton. No way in hell. It’s an overpriced pavements queen
I'll take the Ford F150, all American, great power train.
I would pick the ford hybrid
90K trucks that might be worth half that 2-3 years. It’s a recipe for being upside down on a vehicle loan and depreciating asset. No half ton truck is worth that.
Recovery points are useless on these type of trucks. These are city trucks. When I see these type of trucks, they're generally old men driving them.
Take the seats out of that platinum plus it’s a xlt f-150
Ram all the way. The air suspension makes for a perfect ride!!!
Yeah as long as you don't use a truck as truck that 1,000 pound pay load is a joke. No tow hooks is really a big fail and on top of not having bumpers its just an SUV with a bed. The Ford can do so much more power your home, job site and your camp site.
@@kenwolf2431 I think the 2025 has an option for a generator.
Ram but in Big Horn or Laramie. Way to much to break on the Tungstein and Platinum, you will live at the dealer.
I don't like f.150 new taillight design. Just doesn't look truck like I guess to me.
Looks a bit cheesy IMO
And people complain about toyota price
Ram has horrendous build quality. The body control modules and electrical system are setting forums on fire currently. This is also a brand new engine that has only been slightly tested in Jeep wagoners. The lack of a dipstick is another ridiculous feature (it utilizes a sensor in the oil pan).
The major ball that was dropped in regards to the engine is the injection setup. Every manufacturer with direct injection without also having port injection has tremendous valve buildup. Ford has dual injection on every engine in the half ton segment to mitigate this problem.
The only legitimate positive to the Ram is the zf transmission which is phenomenal and the interior is nicely dressed.
RAM IS THE KING OF TRUCKS!!!🇺🇸
In terms of looks. Reliability is way down on the new Rams….
@@mannyman4103 The 2025 Rams just came out... there is no reliability records yet....... and when they do come out, they won't be any worse than Ford or Chevy...
@@leedanielson7452 check out the videos regarding the uConnect in these new tungsten trucks… a bunch of bugs and glitches. I’m sure the engine will be fine. Transmission is basically bulletproof. The rest of the truck is not that solid.
@mannyman4103 Ram has been the most reliable since 21 😁
@@leedanielson7452 They will definitely be the worst in reliability once the 2025's are sold in high enough volumes. I listened to the recorded meeting of UAW workers at their Sterling Heights plant and they're really mad because Stellantis keeps ignoring all the quality issues going on with the updated truck. The wire harnesses are too short and not staying connected. They were also frustrated that the new computer modules are having so many glitches. They'll pass initial quality checks and then the next time someone tries to start the truck, it'll throw codes and refuse to start. Others are draining batteries dead. A ton of 2025's are getting diverted to the section of the parking lot where problem trucks get fixed before shipping. One worker bought a 2025 and it had problems but he was lucky enough to work at SHAP and get it fixed right away instead of waiting for a fix to get sent to the dealer weeks from now.
Ford body won’t rust.
The rams luxurious without practicality . The Ford has less luxury but more practical . Ford for me
The ford looks like a mid level trim with fancy seats. Ram is the easy pick for me
Yeah if you want an SUV because it a poor excuse for a Truck.
I would go with the Ford it has a more truck like front end. You can damage the front bumper and not have to replace the whole front end like you would in the Dodge. No tow hooks is another big fail on the Dodge, less payload, no onboard power for your tools and welders is fail too. The Ford truck is the Swiss Army knife of trucks and being able to power your camp site is just the Cherry on top. 1,000 pound payload is such a joke on the RAM, 4 fat guys and your overloaded.
Ram is the winner
The Rams do have a dipstick. It’s the person who paid 90k for one of these
🤣
Ram all the way its not even close
Ford knows how to truck more than dodge does. Meet the new dodge family wagon
As if there is any difference between truck owners. At these trim levels neither will have dirt in the bed or anything towed but a boat/rv twice a year. And that’s totally fine! People have weird cult like purity tests about trucks…
Haha that's a funny way to say that ford still bucks and drives like a covered wagon. I mean ram has had air suspension for over a decade now? 1500's are not trucks, they're all passenger cars with an open trunk. They're meant to drive nice and feel nice. If you want a truck that destroys your kidneys then the f350 is still an option of course.
@@JohnSmith-ev1sm I drive an F350 CC LWB sometimes for work and it still rides better than most GM half ton trucks!
@@JohnSmith-ev1sm rams ride better because they are coil sprung. They also pull a trailer like shit because of the coil springs. The Ram sag is a real thing, even on the 3/4 tons. Pick your poison…
@@joshuaatkinson5810 Spoken in ignorance, what do you think train cars use? Coils. Rams have progressive springs, which means the first inch sags quicker than the second. A little sag is no problem other than some people who think visually the truck looks weak; they are designed to work like this. I tow my dual axle RV all the time with my coils and it rides buttery smooth with no issues. Maybe learn how to use the equipment instead of blaming it. Truck King and TFL have both put barrels of cement or heavy trailers on Rams and GMs and Fords, and they all sag the same amount give or take a quarter inch.
Ram win 🎉
Both trucks area complete rip off. No truck should cost this much to own. ..period!!
Ford F150 trucks are so overrated. I don't see the hype about them
Not for $90K, no thanks.
The clear winner is the person that didn’t purchase either of these monstrosities
RAM-1500 KING OF TRUCKS 👌
You mean SUV's because with that tiny payload it a real joke as a truck.
Ford . But neither of those .. FORD took away the 5.0 on king ranches and platis…. Smh sad
Hard loaded lariat is still available with a 5.0 and I personally like the interior more because it doesn’t have all the stupid platinum badges everywhere.

Ford sucks
Dodges sucks more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two expensive turds, the winner is the one that stinks the most.
Obviously the F150 is and always will be the best truck out there. My 2015 F150 now has 103 thousand miles without one single mechanical problem. Someone I know has owned 2 different Ram trucks and both were junk as he had countless mechanical issues. A study should be conducted to determine just how much time the competition’s trucks end up in the shop for poor product quality repairs. I must admit that the top of line Ram truck had a great ride but thats about as far as it goes. Just take a look at the history of Ford and you will see that the Pickup truck’s history goes way back. Ford knows how to make a good long lasting truck !

no. That is why Ram has 6+ months of supply because it is such a popular vehicle.
@davidporter7051 Its because Ram is selling most of their vehicles 120-125% higher prices than the competition for most of their models, which is why they have high inventory. See Car Edge.
