Thanks for the GOOD Duck hunting footage! as we head into the week of the deer opener, Good Luck to you and your Camp. what kind of lights do you have on your boat, they look pretty bight?
You’re welcome. My brother purchased the lights, not sure where from but I’ll ask. They are really nice for running the river. Camp will be up on Friday and ready for opening morning. One real nice deer on trail camera and a few smaller bucks and some does. We are bucks only. The season always surprises us with deer we’ve never seen before so who knows what might show up.
Todays mystery: wheres the lake association boat motor cowling? Lol was at the access last weekend sniffing around for a few birds on a walk with the dog and always wonder about that old motor on that boat.
So the last weekend in October we take the motors off for the season. Sometimes the cowling is off to fix the pull cord. From there on out we have to bring our own motor for the boat or row across
@@arrowheadangler oh gotchya. Was always wondering how everybody got in/out from tuier shacks there. Always see the pontoons anchored out in the bay there.
Each week over on long lake i get a really good fast action shoot saturday amn then sunday is hust a frustrating morning hunt.have done really well with a few redheads, and PILES of ringnecks. Yall must be the only other shots i hear off in the distance. Theres not awesome hunting in the area but you cant veat the setting and zero people competing with you.
@fishhead1314 lol trust me, it would take an absolutely desperate and insane person to attempt to hunt where my cabin is. The day would need to start at roughly midnight, invole a 25mile drive down a lpghing road, a four wheelwr, small boat with a trailer, a 4 mile slog down a nasty trail to get to the "public access" , and plus, there's FAR better spots in literally every direction on the compass.i just hunt at my lake since I'm lazy and I'm already on my lake. There's "public access" but that access is extremely subjective.
Same, usually one good shoot unless you get stiff north winds that continue to bring new ducks in. Love that you don’t have to race to a spot and beat people. I’m assuming that’s you we hear in the morning. We thought maybe someone was hunting on Moose Lake but I’ve never met the cabin owner out there. Glad to know it’s you that is shooting. We jump shoot the moose river now and again. Can be pretty fun at times. The only other shots we hear are up on the Canadian side of Namakan. We hear shots up there on calm mornings. Do you get a lot of redheads. We’ve only ever shot one or two. Mostly ringers, some scaup, buffles, and goldeneyes. Very few mallards and woodies. Every now and then they show up.
@arrowheadangler I wouldn't sat we get a LOT of redheads but we probably get at least one a weekend. Very very few scaup, but a good amount of buffs and goodies, but in cold season we see primarily ringers. Packs of 20-30 mostly. We have good deep weed edges that outline the lake in spots and there's a couple nice high Rocky fingers that stick out lines with deep coontail. Those are killer spots for ringers. Very Very few mallards even seen flying, even less teal this year. I'm sure individual lakes vary on what ducks have preference given food available. Our lake maxes out at 19ft and most if that is mere feet from shore so the divers like cruising the Rocky shoreline there. One of these days we'll have to meet up and b.s. a bit
That’s awesome. We hardly see redheads which is strange since we are so close. We had a large raft of blue bills on the lake this past weekend but we shot all ringers. It would be awesome to bs sometime. Can you drive to your cabin or is it wheeler only? Still on my list to take the long access trail and fish long and moose.

Best of luck to you this season as well.

Careful naming your spots on the internet if you don't like competition..... 🤦♂️
