My father-in-law bought that VHS tape around 1988. My friends and loved watching with him. We all had the 70s Army surplus coats & gear. It sure brings back good memories. It was something new and cool for the times to watch and learn from. My son's Seth & Colt now have those tapes.
I’ve always thought Jep & Jase look like Phil, Alan & Willie look like Ms. Kay! Enjoyed watching this. Lookin forward to more ‘lost tapes!’ Be blessed.🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
I'd love to hear a commentary from Phil. I'm sure there are new things he's learned since, we learn something new every day. I think that would be absolute gold as far as knowledge and experience.
Hey guys Alex Pincock here from Calgary Canada. Thanks so much for all your hard work. I would love to see a limited edition anthology of “Duckmen” with extras, bloopers and lost tapes. Praying for the best. Take care all
This is a critical tutorial even if you do not run a Duck Commander call. My father bought that VHS at either Mack's in Stuttgart or The Swap Shop in Warren, AR. At the time I was living in Dallas and when the crops locked up in Mer Rouge, LA and Eudora, we made a beeline to the N end of Felsenthal. Dad would have a full complement of Duck videos to get us fired up. When those farms in SE AR and NE LA, iced over, it was Katie bar the door in those flooded hardwood bottoms of S AR!
I remember getting a video camera in the mid eighties, had it hanging off my shoulder with the tape in it, many air shows and also a firecracker 400 were taped in 86 , thanks for posting this awesome classic video
Oh yes I would purchase that dvd for my grandson! Thank you for showing us this soft side of Phil, you can see his passion for ducks, and he is a great teacher.
Phil had an amazing way to explain how and why. I’ve called in many many ducks because of Phil’s great lessons. He’s a hero from my childhood. Thanks Phil.
Man, I called the number on the back of the video where ya'll hunted the green heads in flooded timber. I called the number and some guy named Willy answered. We talked. He invited me to hunt some peanut fields with them near Waco. I was working for Church so I didn't have two nickels to rub together and had to deny the invite. Little did I know back then. lol. I've been a fan of Duck Commander since the mid 80's. And I had to explain to my lab Macey why I turned down a duck hunt. She had no gas money either. I grew up in my teen years on Marty Staufer, Grizzly Adams, Bill Dance, and Phil Robertson from the original DU Browing ad days. Now days you all helped be a better father to my dead eye shooting kids and a Mighty Oaks Alumni. Amen, and pass the ammo. All the best. Shawn P.S. I'd buy 4 DVD's if available. You're spot on we still use DVD for clients when we take them to our Co. Ranches. They would love this in the collection. Those guys would love it vs. more Rocky and Terminator.
Makes me old but I remember watching this. That's how I learned to call ducks. I also have his wood duck call. People love the sound of it!😁 I have 2 of his calls.
I love Duck Dynasty. I own about a dozen different calls. Heck, I got Band-Aids and playing cards with Duck Dynasty on them. I got hats, clothes, scarves, and plenty of other things. I wear so many Duck Dynasty items they called me Duck Dynasty, man. God bless you all. Love and respect always
I remember my dad and his hunting buddies watching these videos right before duck season right before I took hunters safety in 1991. Brings back memories. Thank you
I've never heard Phil talk so much at one time in my life! I'm an old woman from Lowell, MA, and never got the opportunity to do any hunting, but have always enjoyed bumping into Duck Commander videos on the Internet. It's a combination of science and art, hunting, and fishing as well.
💯 need to do a lost footage and bloopers! Also a full package with every duckmen video at a good price! Been watching since I was 12 first video I was hooked.
Martin, you can send your tape to a place called legacy box, they can covert it to a DVD. I sent in old movies from my grandparents they were old, they did a great job.
Around '84 I was running traps on Wallace Lake in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. I was 13.It had to be around Christmas and I saw a flock of mallards that had hundreds of ducks in it. They landed about 1oo yards. from me. Duck blinds were there but nobody in them. It was around 10.30 in the morning. They didn't pay me any attention. I've never seen anything like it before or sense. I will never forget that. I sat and watched for a while. I just wonder if anyone else has seen a flock this massive here in Louisiana. 🤔
I can't believe how much Jep looks like Phil in this video. I love watching this lost video! I never knew how the duck calls worked. (I've never gone hunting but it's very interesting) Thank you Phil for this. God bless you and your family. I love watching duck dynasty and anything that has to do with your family. Y'all are great.
Now that’s a treasure from the past. Wow, that was awesome. Don’t tell Si he could sell these videos and make money. He would be sitting on the corner with a sign. Probably have some Phil Robertson 8x10 photos, with a price tag 😂
Loved every year when y’all came to hunt in tippo Mississippi by our farm! I was a young boy with ducks on my mind 365 but the week the DC crew came to Grenada and tippo I was more excited than waiting on Christmas Eve ! Still love to trick them into locking them wings and falling through the trees.
Well I thoroughly enjoyed this, and will be looking forward to some more. Wish I still had a VHS player have a few old tapes. Ya think no one will ever watch them but here we are❤️
I think it was around this time that Phil came to my hometown of Groves, TX to meet with Jim "Cowboy" Hernandez -- creator of the Yentzen duck call and Founder of Sure Shot Game calls. Yentzen is the undisputed best of all mallard calls.
This is what inspired me when I started duck hunting in the eighties I still have my 80’s duck commander calls I actually called him to order my calls back in the day cuttem boys
I am SO loving this. I would love to be able to get thus on DVD. Phil is almost as passionate about ducks as he is the Lord. This is awesome. I've watched Duck Dynasty from when it came out and I've watched the Blind. I love your story. As a Christian I love and appreciate your videos and podcasts. Thank yall for your dedication to sharing God's word and leading folks to Jesus. I was 14 when this tape was made. Yes, I still have a vcr and several vhs tapes 😆
that was really cool I've been watching phill and using duck commander calls for a long time ,,I think I have all the tapes they were all great ,I really really wan a early 1st year duck commander call I hope to find one some day I have a full size stand up of phill in my man cave ...............
Phil Robertson is and will always be The Greatest Ever!!! Man he is one fine shooter and a Great Leader and person !!!! Jase looks just like his daddy Willie too !!!!!
Intro music to the hunting scene : "Cover me with kisses, baby Cover me with love" Giving away my age now when the first thing I catch is the riff from "call me" by Blondie lol
I can remember in the late 60s and early 70s hunting the migrating Canadian flights in harvested corn fields just over a ridge from the Columbia River in eastern Washington. Early in the morning or late in the day they came to feed or all-day if it was snowing hard. If it was snowing so hard you couldn't see the ducks till they were almost in shooting range you always heard that high-altitude feed call which was such a beautiful sound. I heard nothing but wings and that feed call and the occasional hen. Of course no calling was needed, you couldn't keep those ducks from landing if you tried, in fact a couple ranchers/farmers let us park our camper in their yards because they were so happy to have some of those ducks shot that were eating corn destined for their cattle or pigs. They trusted us to lay amongst the cattle and pigs which the ducks always zoned in on. You had to pick a dead duck up quick amongst pigs because we lost a few to the pigs who tore them apart and swallowed them almost whole. The is guy really has a beautiful realistic sound to his calling. My dad made calls too, bought parts from Herters, made the tube on his lathe, even made some out of reeds that sounded pretty good. I would have liked hunting with this fella, no BS about him. Have a nice day.
I totally agree that making sounds that are not like a duck make no sense. I make sounds like a duck everywhere i go in life and it serves me very well.
24:41 my grandpa had that tape we watched it .... I can remember my grandpa saying watchem they coming in shootem shootem while we was watching it...😂😂 miss him man ....
Live about 40 miles from Phil & sadly never have met him.. I bought the original Duckman vhs in Monroe at Villiage Sports in the late 80s & still have it.. Have a question if someone can answer it,, what ever happened to Warren? Is he still with us? Enjoy this video & got my vote to be put on dvd.. Preciate y'all sharing it with us... STP ( Huttig, Ar. )
Best Duck caller and Hunting style in History.

Hey, nice to see you Martin and Godwin. Miss watching you on Duck Dynasty.
I remember getting a video camera in the mid eighties, had it hanging off my shoulder with the tape in it, many air shows and also a firecracker 400 were taped in 86 , thanks for posting this awesome classic video
As someone born in 96, it's wild to see nothing has changed in almost 40 years!
I agree. And it’s interesting because it’s unusual. ‘79 here.
Oh yes I would purchase that dvd for my grandson! Thank you for showing us this soft side of Phil, you can see his passion for ducks, and he is a great teacher.

I grew up in the 80s it brings me back to see old vhs and the music times where a lot simpler back then thanks for sharing this video boys
Love those old videos. Y'all need to bring back that end montage retro audio music and redo it with a modern swampy electric slide guitar!
Makes me old but I remember watching this. That's how I learned to call ducks. I also have his wood duck call. People love the sound of it!😁 I have 2 of his calls.
Definitely need it on DVD
Thanks guys! So cool to watch!

I remember renting these videos when I was a kid big into duck hunting.
I've never heard Phil talk so much at one time in my life! I'm an old woman from Lowell, MA, and never got the opportunity to do any hunting, but have always enjoyed bumping into Duck Commander videos on the Internet. It's a combination of science and art, hunting, and fishing as well.
