I hated Bad News back in the day when we believed kayfabe. Seeing all the shoots and seeing who he really was, I so appreciate the work he did and what he did on the mic. Such a real human being and so talented to make his character so believable. RIP and thank you for the memories!
Because he was a Olympic level athlete who knew what he wanted out of pro wrestling he didn't go through 100 gimmicks he was legit in and out of that 4 sided ring it wasn't like he was emulating someone else he was just Bad News Brown he knew how to talk and knew back it up He did for the money fans came because they liked the bluntness of his promos and not sugar coating much of anything

I can't say I agree with everything I've heard from Bad News. But he was definitely a stand up gentleman. I don't recall ever hearing of him being a bully. He was just a no-nonsense kinda guy. Gone way too soon.

I use to have a high school teacher whose favorite phrase was "Hold the phone, Sapphire!" I found out later it was one of the catchphrases from the Kingfish character on Amos & Andy.

As a kid growing up watching Professional Wrestling I didn't know what I didn't know...meaning, especially at the time, kayfabe was legit and without the internet it was what it was...but as an adult in 2021 navigating these troubled waters and trying to be a man learning about inner workings behind those memorable feuds and matches and heating first hand from the stars involved I have to say *I have the utmost respect for Allan Coage aka Bad News Allen/Brown and I would recommend any fan seek out this shoot interview in full*

I think the funniest story there was the one that Cowboy told about picking Ernie Ladd and his wife up at the airport. He had the big Cadillac and pulled up to the curb, picked them up and Ernie hopped in the back seat. Watts goes " big guy, come sit in the front here, there's way more room for ya" Ernie sat back put his arm around his wife and said "See baby just like I told you... if you marry me someday I'll get us a big fat honky chauffeur" Bill's Cadillac did not move for about 5 minutes because Watts was laughing his ass off so hard he couldn't drive. I thought back to watching Gran Torino and people's outrage on the one RUclips videos where they basically pasted together every insult and racial slurs out of context. " what the hell is wrong with this guy why would they make a movie like this?" Watch the movie and you'll get it. It is called ballbusting and it's how men complement or show affection for one another. Not to mention if you actually watch the movie you will see that things are not what they seem from the clips as far as racism goes.

I don't remember him putting over too many people. He said he'd put over anyone, but I've seen a lot of his matches where he gets counted out, or is disqualified or whatever.

Why would he care if he was only in it for money??? Also did he realize that you made more money if you were a champ? I don't believe Vince would have asked for his opinion on anything either. He was a mid carder at best. His most memorable feud was with Piper which probably made him more money. The guy is gone so may he RIP, but I believe he was full of it in this interview.
I don't remember him putting over too many people. He said he'd put over anyone, but I've seen a lot of his matches where he gets counted out, or is disqualified or whatever.

I don't understand Bad News Brown. He said ~ What gives you the right to even say that. It's called ~ "Free Speech". It's not against the law to use racists words. But it against the law to try to prevent somebody from expressing themselves. You don't have a Legal right to get violent just because somebody is saying something racist around you, or to you.
