    Wow, Bad News almost broke down crying when he told the Brody story. They were really close. Bad News was a loyal friend to many wrestlers. Respect.

    Thanks for this! I was a fan of Bad News as a kid ( I loved the heels) and I always respected his talent. Now I have a whole new respect for him as a human being, he’s a class act.

    Having grown up in Calgary when Bad news brown was there, dynamite kid, Bret Hart, Gamma Singh ( Who as a kid I loved to hate he was so good! ) My favorite memories was going to stampede every weekend with my cousin and watching these legends!

      He had a reputation for being a mean loner in his early WWF days. He's from Harlem, N. Y., but later when you get to know his true character as a nice, good guy you liked to get to know him but sad to know Allen Coage is R I P

    Got to meet him years ago. Really cool guy. Died too young like many of the guys. Legit fighter too..won Bronze in the Olympics for Judo.

    I barely even remember this dude’s career but his shoot interview is, I think, my favorite of all time. He’s just real. He talks like a mature adult who didn’t give a damn about wrestling or the little girl gossip stories that permeate all these interviews. Guy was a journeyman, a professional in every sense of the word. God only knows the nonsense he had to deal with from racist idiots over the years. Some of it from people fanboys still call icons. God speed brother

    Glad brown did this shoot, we lost so much of the history when he passed, like so many others we missed the opportunity to gain that knowledge, it also shows his personal side, as bad as he was known to be he’s also a funny guy.
    To admit the poop story also shows he didn’t have such a massive ego either.

    Bad News ! Top Notch ! One of the best ! His segment on the Arsenio Hall Show was simply fantastic ! He was a legitimate fighter. A martial arts and judo expert - he won the gold multiple times at the Pan American Games , including the bronze at the Montreal Summer Olympics - he also was Aretha Franklin's personal bodyguard before turning pro . May you RIP !

    Bad News Brown is the best wrestler and I remember he wrestle under the name of Bad News Allen when he was wrestling in Florida wrestling when he was the champion

    "As a Kid I was supposed to go to a show with my friend who was white and his dad to a show but couldn't. The next day he said I'm glad you didn't go because we went to the restaurant they ate at after the show and they were using the N-word left and right. I asked who some of them were he said Piper, Hogan, The Giant. As a Blk kid I would've been crushed."

    Way too smart for the business. In my mind the most underrated of the Golden Age. In my mind he should have had a real run with Hogan….and maybe even beat him. He was such a legit badass

    *Andre the Giant:* Are you serious? I’ll kill you inside of 3 minutes
    *Bad News Brown:* now I’m a Judo expert who won an Olympic Medal for Judo…I realized half way through Andre carrying me out of the bus like I was a toddler & none of my judo was effective on him in ANY WAY, that I’d made a huge mistake…

    I am 99% sure he is lying about burying the hatchet with Andre, he says he didnt speak to Andre anymore after that incident, yet out of the blue before Andre died they buried the hatchet?..yet says the match that Andre shat on him was the last time he saw him alive? It seems like he just said that as a way to maybe put Andre over instead of just leaving it at Andre using racial slurs etc. Bad News seems like a cool dude.

      He was a Calgary Stampede guy. So he stayed loyal to the Bulldogs. To him ( a much older man and a Judo Champion) they were a couple of harmless, but talented kids. The context of their relationship was completely different than say, Outback Jack.

    The story about him and Andre on the bus: I get that Bad News was a tough guy but Andre would have destroyed him in a fight. Great for sticking up for yourself and telling Andre that using the N-word isn't cool. But in a fight? Andre would kick the shit out of him. The only one back then tjay would have a legit chance of winning a fight was Haku.

      How do u know ?.. That size don't really mean nothing... Andre was big and slow.. stick and move... I've seen many big guys get beat by way smaller dudes who had hands and knew what to do with them...and this dude had hands and feet, tough, and was like a judo master or something... Certified!...

      Andre was not that mobile by the end of his career. I always figured they put him with haku in a team so no one would try anything taking liberties with Andre

      I've seen his work in Japan. It's just basic.
      Hogan is an average worker against superior workers like Fujinami and Inoki.
