This interview surprised me with how positive and grateful Scott was. I don't know why but I expected him to have some of Nash's disdain and mild contempt for the business and audience, but no, Scott Hall was genuinely just cool and liked pro wrestling. He was great, RIP.
What is so different with Scott vs other wrestlers that tell stories, is that Scott hardly ever takes credit for something. He always gives props to whom he learned it from, who taught him, or how he took something and made it his own while still giving credit. It’s so refreshing to hear someone who was in the industry and yet was so humble to put over everyone that helped him get what he had. So sad we lost him and all the stories he hadn’t yet told. RIP.
He wrongfully takes credit for coming up with the Crow Gimmick for Sting, when it was actually Andre Freitas (from AFX Digital, who created pretty much all outfits, entrances (like Glacier), produced some of the videos and came up with quite a few gimmicks) who presented the idea to begin with and then designed the outfit
Respect Scott Hall for persevering through hard times to get his shot and then to make the most of it..unforgettable memories of high quality matches and just how cool he was
every time I watch a new dark side of the ring episode my first thought is “this would’ve been so much better if Scott Hall was still alive to tell his side of the story” his post career contributions to the industry are sorely missed.
This guy was an INCREDIBLE storyteller. His syntax is so refined and precise that you can visualize everything he says. Thank God these videos exist. Taken too soon. We will always remember the Bad Guy!
I remember when this shoot came out, it was a roll of the dice as to which version of Hall we'd get. Was very pleased to see him well rested and with so much clarity. An all time classic performer and interview.
The more "real" interviews I see of Scott the more impressed I get. Always liked his character but never thought he'd was so damn down to earth and actual "REAL". What a cool cat and what a shame how kit ended after he fixed himself. RIP YO!
I could listen to Scott Hall talk business forever he has such a genius mind for it. Even early in his career asking to go to Kansas City was so forward thinking for someone so green in the business

Scott Hall really had a great insight into the business. He understood things really well. He was a very good performer. He could wrestle, talk, sell, and work the crowd.
Thank you so much for this. I remember buying it off RF website. One of the best shoots ever from one of the coolest wrestling Legends. Heartfelt interview breaks my heart when he talks about the benoit family tragedy. RIP BAD GUY
Thank you for uploading this, it's been years since I've seen it and watched it all the way through and tried to really appreciate it as a time capsule. I'm a big Scott Hall fan (or should I say mark, in honour of the bad guy) and was heart warming especially at the end. Seeing that raw emotive reaction to Chris Benoit. Also hearing him say he doesn't want to rip the fans off. I appreciate it's part of the business to pay but the way he approaches it as interaction being more important than the finance was too sweet
Scott was so cool because coming out with hogan, nash, bischoff, macho in the nitro days, he arguably could have been the top guy but instead chose to surf walk out and make himself "smaller." When he didn't have to. It's almost like as if Austin in 96/97, instead of chasing world title, decided to join dx or something. It's like shawn would've been the guy that the company wanted, but everyone would've secretly been watching austin in the background. I know it's not exactly that situation but it kind of is. Hall was like Brad Pitt in ocean's 11. Like, the movie clearly has george Clooney as the main character, but everyone's secretly looking at someone else more
It is so sad he did not take better care of himself. Can you imagine how big of a Podcast Hall would have had. He can just tell stories. Life takes no prisoners. I told story he worked out at same gym I did. I was like 17 years old, and this was a gritty gym of monsters. I was a monster in the making. Scott would come in and be honest he was quite, I never new he was a story teller like this. He talked to me as a young man and just another guy at the gym. I was pretty strong for a 17 year old with like 295 or 315 pounds on the bench. It was still near my max and he spotted me when I asked him He was like no problem and racked it for me. I knew about his incident with the shooting and my brother who was a badass at the time told me he thought he never got over it. Side note, my brother could be a jerk and only 215 lbs, but had huge 20” arms and known as a fighter. There are just nasty people who people are scared of and he was one of them. No doubt Scott knew who he was and never wanted beef with him and that might have been why he was so cool with me. Boy Orlando back in the day with Rosie O Gardy’s saloon in downtown Orlando had epic bar fights and my brother was known as a bull. Someone have to write a book about those days. It was crazy times.
He spotted me at the gym on the bench press. He was everything you think he was. I asked him to spot me on bench and he did not hesitate and spotted me and sat down and talked to me as a young man. No cussing, just told me about his bout with Terry Funk Jr. Then kept spotting me for each set. My perspective, a great guy. One of the first time I was treated as an equal, not a dum teenager.
Amazing interview. Excellent pace and questions with deeply insightful responses on both sides. Learned a lot in the 1st half and even more. Scott is, in my opinion, the most creative, clever and the ability to be personable and a leader. 👌
