    One other trick, if you do have any joints that leak or drip you can hit it with a heat gun for 15-20 seconds and it shrinks back. I found that I was probably expanding some ends too many times but the heat gun got it to shrink back and those have not leaked again.

    Great video! This is one of very few videos that go into details about ProPEX plumbing in a van. Awesome work! A quick question: How do you compare the brass vs plastic Uponor fittings? I noticed you used a lot of brass fittings in spite of the higher price than their plastic counterparts. I heard the plastic fittings are more resistant to freezing but the metal ones are stronger. So I am struggling to decide which type to use. Thanks!

    I actually have a question about the water pump I have a an accumulator which I purchased way before I did the van build and I'm not sure why I actually have that now I've got a water pump just like yours but I do have this accumulator and I'm wondering what your thought is on using an accumulator if it's something that's a good idea or needed? Thanks again

      Great question, In my personal opinion you only need an accumulator if you experience pump surging. This typically happens with longer water pipe runs. This also depends on the brand/type of pump you are using.
      I find that a Diaphragm Pump w/Variable Flow tends to solve the issue of surging and operates like a household faucet when turning it off/on.
      Also, you want to see if your pump has these specifications (not all necessary but will add to the ease of operation):
      -Self-priming
      -Continuous duty (can be run for extended periods of time without overheating)
      -On-demand use
      -Is run-dry safe (if you accidentally run it dry momentarily with no water in the tank)
      -Has an internal bypass design to reduce cycling
      My recommendation to you would be to install the pump you have but leave room for the future addition of an accumulator if needed. Next, make sure that it is not mounted too far away from the water tank/source. Water pumps have a maximum distance away from the pump in which they are designed to run. Example: "priming capabilities are 6 feet of suction lift" so, the pump needs to be no further vertically than 6 feet from the water tank outlet. Looks like a good topic for a future video :)

    I bought a similar water pump and attached Pex 1/2 inch pipe and fittings but it’s not pumping water out? I used the same pump to pump water out of a pool using a water hose. Any ideas?
