BTW, I believe when the pump says it can self prime 6 feet, that that refers to a 6 foot vertical pull that it can do, not linear distance. That is a function of what amount of vacuum it can generate to lift the water up to the pump.
Have you had any trouble with brass fittings mated into the plastic water tank? I read somewhere that metal male fittings can cause problems with plastic female fittings.
