    Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Raspberry Scones. I like to experiment with different flavor combinations when making scones and this time I decided to combine dark chocolate with fresh raspberries to make these Raspberry Scones. To me, the tangy sweet flavor of raspberries seems to welcome the intensity of the dark chocolate.

    These look delicious. I just love raspberries so much. I use them so much in patisserie, just the other day i uploaded a video for the softest most tender little raspberry roll cakes (and other flavours too). My auntie is obsessed with scones, she has tried every recipe going so she'll be delighted when I alert her to this video! :)

    I love my grans halfa scones... 600g self raising flour, 300g sugar, 150g soft butter, 75g (2/3) eggs, 30g milk if needed, cant roll as makes a very wet dough, just scoop a spoonful and Blob it on tray, gas mark 4 till golden brown, makes 14 to 16 scones delicious 😋

    Thank you looks great. But it seems a lot of work for just 8 pieces. So I was wondering if the recipe is freezeable? It would make more sense to make like 3 patches, divide and freeze. Then bake one serving at a time as desired

    Would I be okay if I used Gluten-Free baking flour? I have a pillsbury brand and also Red Mill 1-to-1 Baking flour---both are supposed to be the equivalent to all purpose flour meaning I can substitute cup for cup but I'm new to using these so don't know if textually it would change things or if I would have to alter the other ingredient?

    • @naomishardlow4542
      @naomishardlow4542 8 лет назад

      I've used the Red Mill 1 to1 baking flour for several recipes, including bisquits, cookies, and cake and everything has come out great. I think it would do well with these scones.

      Thank you good to know. I have that and also a Pillsbury Gluten Free flour blend that works very similar too to the Red Mills 1 to 1

    Is heavy cream OK? Heavy cream was used on blueberry scones, but raspberry calls for buttermilk, just wondering why. The blueberry also contains 1 egg

    • @joyofbaking
      @joyofbaking  2 года назад

      There are so many ways to make scones. That is why I have quite a few recipes. Using an egg gives you a cake like scone. Buttermilk will make a more tender scone and if used in a scone recipe without an egg, it also gives a more bread like texture. If you want you can use cream instead of buttermilk for a richer tasting scone.
