Whenever I travel to the US I don't quite think about what Jamaican ingredients I can get because I'm often just here on a short stay so I can survive without them for a while. However, what about the Jamaicans that live in the US and wont be returning home soon? So I thought about taking a quick look in a popular supermarket in Florida to see how well Jamaican brands and products are represented here.

And they are not half bad, bought 3 for $5@@taneishawilson8995
The whole south and east coast of America I know for sure has dedicated areas to Jamaican products in grocery stores
Nice!
sounds good
You are teaching me so much . I am not Jamaican but there is a tie that binds me to Jamaica ❤
When searching for things in supermarket there are usually signs above head
Finding Jamaican foods in Publix will be a hit or miss. It will depend on the city.
That’s true
You can also request them to stock products they don't have.
If you plant a piece of the ginger you get from the American supermarket, the one you grow at home will be smaller and more potent. Try it for yourself and share if you have the same experience. I live in Florida.
Black, gold, and green.
Hardships there are, but the grass is green and the sun is still shining.
The Publix where I shop on Sunrise Blvd in Broward county Florida usually has quite a few Jamaican products. Try international isle.
I live in Bronx, New York so I have no problem in finding Jamaican products. Other Caribbean and Spanish foods readily available.I buy the organic ginger which are small and real good.
And most of the supermarket here are not owned by Jamaicans they are own by Latinos
This is what I like about you is that you have a Family and a Man of your own when it comes to somethings.
Bro, Happy New Year! I prefer to support black-owned businesses instead of corporations, but I will shop at the big stores if I have to.
Thanks bro for the helpful info, I am planning to eat more Jamaican cuisine this new year.
🇯🇲🍽️🥂
This is a great video. Never seen anyone else doing this. Hats off to you my friend.
The pimento should be one of the items.
Publix even has its own brand of Jamaica patties! You passed plenty items man. Also, I think the black on the Jamaican flag represents the struggles of the people?
Hey Stephan all the best for the new years Publix is my favorite place to go all the Jamaican and some bajan stuff in there great vlogs enjoy your trip
This video was way tooooo funny 😂😂😂 I enjoyed the expressions the most and lol yes our Supermarkets especially here in New York is stocked with various Jamaican products 🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️
During Covid I found so many Jamaican groceries while most the shelves were empty, where I live most people don’t even know what they are.works in my favor
If you are in Broward County FL..Try the Broward Meats Chain, thats the local go-to for all your Jamaican produce… For the best Jamaican ice-cream store; Cleveland Ice-Cream in Miramar FL. All the classic Jamaican flavors, grape nut, dragon stout, rum and raisin etc..
Welcome to America. I hope the experiences goes well.😊
If you need good ginger in America go to sprouts or Whole Foods.
Normally there are liquor stores associated with these stores, eg, Publix Liquor, Walmart Liquor stores which are normally next door (adjacent) to these stores...
We run tings. Tings nuh run we. Jamaica 🇯🇲 to the World
Devon house ice cream it is Soai 😅😂. The best!!! Happy new year
Happy new year!! Yessss that’s the one!
Devon House i-scream is the best in the world bar none!!
Helpful to read the isle sign above each isle that give the items that can be found in that isle
Hi Stephen! Lovely video! I love Grace products!!! Happy New Year 🎆🎊 🥳
RollTide bro been a member for a while now 🙏🏾❤️✌🏽
How hard is it to adjust from driving in right side driving car to a left side driving car? And also driving on the right side of road the as opposed to driving on the left. Is it tough? That's one thing that always worried me about driving in a foreign country. "Anyway" love your channel. Where's Jillie? Love hers too.
DEVON HOUSE I-SCREAM!!
Yup!
rum & raisin is #1
Happy New Years, Stephen 🎉🎉🎉
Cuz...even over this side the supermarkets are now heavily stocked with Jamaican food items...some stuff we usually have to go in the downtown area to get are now available in the supermarkets
Publix has a Jamaican section for over 25 years
Happy New Year!
As you said “‘cause we’re kinda known for our rum” you passed the gallon size Wray and Nephew over proof white rum on the top shelf. Lol
Lol…..I was shouting see it den,yu juss pass di big ole bottle of rum.
Publix and Walmart have a small Jamaican section. Go to western Beef, Presidente or Bravo if you want a wide variety of island stuff.
Broward Fish n Meat too on University Dr n Pembroke Rd. Bravo is now Key Foods Market
Happy holidays to you and yours
Excelsior Corned Beef, news to me. I hope the Supermarket has Excelsior Water Crackers too The diaspora has products that we don't have in Jamaica. It is like Grace Island Soda in Canada.😱😄
Just saw the Excelsior Water Crackers, et al.
😁
In New York the stores have the Excelsior brand of corned beef but I usually cut my eye past it and go for Libby or Grace.
Pic-A-Peppa... JA version of Worchestersire sauce!! love it same way
I’m learning so much from you as we Go
Glad bro
Stephen, every grocery store I've ever been to in FL sold Red Stripe beer item # 12 or 13 😂. We share the same birthday month, hope you had a great birthday 🎉.
Happy New Year Stephen!! 🎉❤
Happy new year!!🎈
Pimento is confusing outside of Jamaica. The Spaniards thought it was black pepper thus the incorrect name. It is allspice outside of Jamaica and that is the correct name. Jamaican ginger is hot and very fibrous. The ginger sold in the US is milder and not overly fibrous. Australian ginger makes the best crystalized ginger as it is not stringy. The Jamaican ginger could not be used as crystalized ginger in gourmet cookies. It can however be used in its ground state as a spice.
You think publix a ramp. Is when he say RAWTED!!! Lol😂😂 This video was dif and fun. Check me helping u look as well bc i didn’t remember publix having so many Jamaican item. But most grocery store has an international section. I think your making Sorrel.
Many of the ethnic stores like Presidente, and Chavez you can find more grocery items from the Caribbean.
Awesome
SOAI in America saying stucked on an island😂
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅awesome😅😅😅😅❤
just curious my Lord on the price of the Ackee's. Here in Cali they run from $12 to $15 so I was curious as to how much it was
in Florida. Jamaican products are very expensive on the west coast. A small package of cerassee and even guinea hen weed will
run you at least $5 in the stores if you can find it. Give thanks for the food tour and keep rising King, we live and learn.
Make sure to have a growth plan for your life and keep on growing, bless up
Do u come to S FL even yrly? I've ackee trees n cerasee bush. Ackee season over now, it was plentiful in November. I sold some fr $4 for 13 pods organic n fresh, a man came fr 4 doz+ n only gave $12 do u know he refused to answer his cell, in Dec. I went to a concert n there he was w/his wife. I asked him for my $ ok. I USED to give them away but no one will assist me in bagging leaves which is much once yearly so I charge.
Happy New Years and Many More
Happy new year!
Some places in VA doesn’t sell after 12am
Happy New Year Bro!!
Happy new year!
Hi Steve. Welcome to Florida! For all my Jamaican products I go to Broward Meat and Fish in Pembroke Pines. I am in Miami at the moment and can’t find nothing Jamaican. I am feening for some St. Mary banana chips 😅😅😅
Hahha I’ve heard of or been to some of these. Bravo’s is also good too
I love Pick-a-peppa on meats, especially pork.
The Jamaican flag is the only flag in the world without red, white, or blue.. Also, this is the way I remember where the black and the green go. The green is for the land and the black is for the people. I would assume there's more land than people😅 so the green is the bigger portion. The flag is a rectangle, so the top and bottom would be larger than the sides. That's just my formula.. Great video though 👍🏾👍🏾
Yooooo that formula is cool 😅
😂 my pockets are aching just thinking about the bill at the cashier. I like videos like this though.
Hahahaha lmao!
So question is this your first time in America because if you come to NYC and you go to the supermarket especially in Brooklyn, Bronx or queens you will find all your Jamaican products
Happy Holidays
Happy holidays!

Di handles In This video is nice. Total wine sells white rum get it there every year. They dont sell the same roof as in Ja. That’s y it 63% 😊 it still strong though.
Thanks for that info
I moved to NYC in 1990 from North Carolina state as time went by I learned places I can buy West Indian food products and I stopped asking my family members to bring stuff for me.When I travel to Barbados on my return flight I am under weight nothing to bring back, Brooklyn has our products .
Scavenger hunt yaadie edition in the supermarket was fun. Happy healthy New Year everyone!💫
As a official ice cream eating expert…hands down the best is Devon House. I wish they would expand flavours to like banana foster, lavender poppyseed, matcha tea, and holidays time sorrel ice cream or sorbet oh my goodness dem deh time check out line wld be over an hour lol
Devon house to me is the best too!
You can’t easily get them in North Florida. And each Publix carries different things.
so those Devon house favours are only available in Jamaica you say??
Happy New Year in a few hours 🎉🎉🎉
Happy new year!!
@@SOAIVLOGS Thank you 🙏
Breda you have to give the city or state, not a tiny place like Jamaica. lol still think it manipulates the algo better that way
The Jamaican flag is the only flag in the world that does not have red, white, or blue in it. All other flags have one or ore of those three colors in them.
Great video
Jamaica would be the ultimate paradise if we could reduce the bad mind, crime, inefficiency and backward thinking.
That’s a tall order
Which country, don't have all that you mentioned.
Brunei , 🇧🇳 Singapore 🇸🇬 , Denmark,🇩🇰 Switzerland 🇨🇭 , Uzbekistan, 🇺🇿 Fiji, 🇫🇯 , don’t have any of those certainly not badmind
@@86kenoThis is one dumbass stupidass comment!
@JahmekyaNo1,so true
Sorrel drinks in the making...If a good amount of Caribbean people living in that state you would definitely find Jamaican items or things Caribbean people uses...states like FL, GA, DC, NY, NJ...I know you would have find 10 items in Publix...especially when you hit the International isle.
But wait, SOAI nuh bought nothing Jamaican from Publix Supermarket? Man fe support Jamaica, Star!! 🙂
Man! If you here in NYC especially, you won't have any problems in Brooklyn and deep up there in the Bronx
Definitely! NY has a loooot of Jamaicans
@@SOAIVLOGS Yep and every other West Indian
same to you
Prefer linstead ackee than Grace...any day
Devon House! 🍨
Ginger here is just as spicy you just have to grate it or blend it to get the flavor publix is not where to shop for jamaican food you have to go to a jamaican store lucky u rich the rest of us cant afford publix
Pretty much Florida, Georgia, D.C., Eastern Jersey, Brooklyn and Queens.
Nice! I’ve never been to GA, DC
@@SOAIVLOGSSounds like a new vacation destination is upon you brethren.
Yes I@@rasjahson6261
Fire shirt 🔥
It sounds like you’re making Sorrel.
Soai a lot of Canadian stores carry Jamaican products.
We have international stores in the U.S. and the Hispanic stores sell Caribbean and African foods. There are a lot of West Indians and Africans in the U.S., so there are stores that cater to cultural needs. In the South and Florida is the South, they sell alcohol in ABC stores and wine and beer in supermarkets or specialty stores I.e., Total Wines. In most stores up north, everything is sold together in the liquor stores, There should be an International section in the supermarkets, otherwise you can find most products in Hispanic stores.
True
Nice video I wish I could find them here in Indiana
❤❤❤❤❤
Walmart always carry Jamaica products and if you shop outside the suburbs more store carry Jamaica products,Google farmers market in your state, don't loose your mind😅😅😅
Look in the international food aisle, live in Georgia 20 years and didn't know until 5 years ago we had so many Jamaican foods here
The jelly coconut are often always rotten at the farmers market but everything else is ok
Devon House Ice cream
Well now that u see these items..now you know why we don't bother family more than suh to bring us things...its available here.....
Where I live they have a carribean section
I don't think that ice cream company export to here
Fun fact bro : the Jamaican flag is the only flag in the world without the color red in it.
Not true. 39 countries don't have red in it worldwide
Not necessarily JA products. But there would be food nonetheless
The Jamaican flag is one of two country flags that dont have any red, white, or blue in it. The other country is Mauritania.
I am in Broward county. I need to find that Publix. What city?
Palmetto area
See if you pay attention you will find those things supermarkets do carry maggi brands and other jamaican brands they carry grace . Pay attention you shall see😮😊
Will do
Excellent video brother and I believe you're making sorrel.
Stephen you need to do a lot of homework. Wray and Nephew white rum is overproof and subject to higher tariffs.
You should’ve had went to a Food Depot grocery store.
Do they have a Food Depot where you’re at?
If not? Then you’re missing out
If you do have 1? Why not over there?
Nicely, asked
There might be one but never heard of it
Well, that Grocery Store sells mostly about everything you can name @@SOAIVLOGS
Yap I was wondering why our supermarkets are packed with US food products and not our own?.
Bravo supermarkets and Broward meat and fish in North Lauderdale have all yardie items. Sound like you ah guh mek Sorrell.
I went to the bravo! Maaaan that’s a good store. Yup @ sorrel
Soai❤❤❤❤❤soai🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
