@@EyosYT Interesting, I would have thought by rolling like that you would increase your radar signature, showing your belly to the tracking radar. Is this a realistic maneuver?
@@pseudocoder78 particularly realistic? Uncertain. Notching itself is absolutely a real maneuver fighter pilots used to defeat some missiles, though. As for the radar signature, you are correct about the roll giving the enemy a greater RCS. However, in the case of VTOL VR, you want the missile to pitbull earlier so you have more time to chaff it off, so that increase in RCS actually helps a lot.
I know the F 35 has good stealth but... is it really realistic you would be able to get THAT CLOSE to the fleet without them detecting you before you launched your antiship missiles? At that point you had to have been within visual range.

It does. In order to turn it on you have to go to your EOTS page and press the HEAD button. That will link the view from the electro-optical targeting system to your helmet-mounted cueing system allowing you to "see" through the plane.
@@MichaelWeber5237 Yeah it obscures your instruments. Typically head track is useful for trying to find targets but once you have the target locked there is little reason to keep it linked to your vision.
