I was on the fence about buying the stream deck. Having watched this video, I will be picking one up today. I have just enough space on my midi keyboard to fit the XL. So I can have the deck on the left, and my touchpad on the right, and I can get rid completely of my actual computer keyboard. Not only that, but it will actually provide motivation to learn the software and all its features even more. There are literally a tonne of shortcuts and functions I never use, because I simply haven't put the effort in to learn them. Now I don't have to. I can pick the ones that seem useful to my workflow, and have them there, already mapped, with a nice icon. I LOVE just playing the actual midi keyboard. Learning the software gets in the way of my creativity. There are absolutely loads of features that I know exist, but I never use because it takes me out of the zone. I have to move my hands off the midi keyboard, onto the mouse, onto the keyboard, try and remember the shortcuts, and that takes me out of the zone. Having just one key to say Duplicate, Cut, insert, select all, add fx, add plugin, and all the other right brain stuff.... Worth it

Hello and thank you very much for this great tutorial. DId you ever have a problem with the plugins such as F8 + Insert plugin ALWAYS puts the plugin on the latest mixer channel and not on the selected one? I just finished my Stream Deck configuration and it's unusable (unless I want to stack all my plugins on the same channel 😅).
@@JonHutChannel When you got time can you do a vid on how to add your fav drums. I did it on mine but it just places it random places lmao but that would be ver helpful. Thanks in advance
Hi @godstarproductions1106 , if you set up SD as I do on the video then it should work , just watch the entire video as many times as you need and don’t skip any step , as every step is crucial to make it work 👍
For instance in one of the steps u showed a mute button on the channel, not sure how u made that.. are you using python scripts at all in ur setup. Sorry bro been trying to get this all nite with no success
The key of this function is the fruity mute 2 plugin , just link the mute knob with a SD button, if still doesn’t work try to link any other parameter to see if works , if doesn’t then means that you didn’t configured correctly the midi button on SD
Hi @JadSaad!! So the shut down button as I explain in the tutorial is to close specific apps , not the Mac , and I programmed with the shortcut app but with the new update of stream deck you can close apps easily with the native plugin, to close multiple apps you just have to use the multi action 👍
Wish FL had a shortcut for arm/disarm recording ... I need to click that Tiny dot each time somone records vocals and wants to listen back on speakers.. I need to disarm to turn off monitoring. Any idea ???
@@JonHutChannel i found a work around .. used another track for monitoring only and mute it using fruity mute 2 with midi via stream deck. I know making a custom phyton script is also possible for this. thx ;D

Hi @sootrasounds , is definitely worth it!!! To make your custom icons simply use Canvas , just select a custom size 72 x 72 👍
