My first U2 concert was at a small venue in 1984 in Florida, next was The Joshua Tree Tour in Miami. U2 rocked us for almost 4 hours and I was drunk on their live performance! I've seen them live several times, and they will forever be my Favorite band of all the concerts that I have attended. I'm 65 and still rock to their music. Rock On U2!
I was in my home town of Boulder, Colorado 1987.... and heard (Joshua Tree album) for the FIRST TIME...INSTANT LOVE I felt their musical was spiritual...still do.I remember that moment. I got to go to Dublin early 2000's and saw their homes...I love this band.
Grew up with this track. First cassette I ever bought. Listened to it til it broke. This was also the first song I ever sang when I found my voice at work in 2004. (I'm autistic. Singing is how I 'stim' or 'self regulate')

I became a U2 fan after watching them at the Wembley Live Aid concert in 1986 and the track Bad when Bono gets a girl on stage for a dance.. Later with the track The Unforgettable Fire blowing my mind (and it’s still my fave track today all those years later,) i went on to see them on the Joshua tree tour the Zoo Station tour etc etc.. 10 tours now.. One reminds me of the Trabant East German car and the wall coming down, and Stay (Faraway So close ) with the line “ Dressed up like a car crash, the wheels are still turning but your upside down” Luv U2..

This is a prayer, a lamentation, a sermon, a sacrament. This is the howling, the keening of young lads who grew up praying "God make me a vessel" and He did & they never knew how much it would hurt. They could've become bitter & cynical & jaded but here they are, still holding up a lantern in the darkness. U2 I loved you then when you sang 40 to candles at Auckland Domain & still love you now, because you still carry the message.
I saw them (the first time of many...) at Toad's Place in New Haven CT, in 1980 (as I recall); there were only about 35 people in the room, which held 700+: they played to that room like there were 35,000, energetically telling us "We came all the way from Ireland to play here, and there's no place we'd rather be!" I was with a friend of mine who didn't 'get it' (said they were just a 'college band' of New Wave Ravers...). I told him he was incorrect, and I bet him they'd go on to become one of the most important bands in the world (whereupon he gave me the 'what have you been smoking look')! In 1987 I mailed him the copy of TIME magazine that had them on their cover as "Rock's Hottest Ticket", and saying they were one of the most important cultural 'influencers' of the time (I still have that issue). He called me from California, laughing and said: "You were right; good thing I didn't take that bet..."

The first time I saw them was 1987 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia . They were touring the Joshua Tree album. I saw them 3 different times in Hershey Stadium over the years. The crowd singing along is part of the show.
I was at that JFK show in 1987, with 100,000 fellow fans. I've seen the band 6 times, but nothing ever compared to that show. It was a life altering experience for me.
Wow Bono's guitar sounds so good. Nice n loud in the mix. I wish the cameraman had filmed Adam and the Edge a bit too though. The Edge was doing some beautiful stuff man - footage of that wouldv'e been something else!!

This was the last tour he could play guitar. Had a bad accident prior to the Innocence and Experience tour in 2015 and can’t play properly anymore.
