The Path Tracing performance hit is insane. Efforts must be doubled at AMD. The 7900 XTX can do Path Tracing, just not very well.
Man, I don't see the justification for such a reduction in performance, they look really similar to one another.
Not worth the FPS loss. Basically getting console type of FPS with it on. And the visual improvement although nice, isn't gigantic to warrant the FPS being down to 40ish from 170.
How come the path tracing version is so much less sharp?
I can only justify it with the FSR 3 mod
fps mode all day
Path Tracing isn't worth the performance hit. Just use normal ray tracing
On the contrary, the difference in visuals between the path tracing and ray tracing mode is greater than the difference between traditional raster and ray tracing mode
path tracing is def worth it
@@bzrt554 To some people's eyes, there's little difference. People have to point out the differences. I dunno, for me it doesn't seem to warrant the performance loss, the amount of power these GPU's use and the world we live in, do we really need all this power?
Rtx 4080 can do path tracing 70+fps 1440p with dlss quality no frame generation. With frame gen it's 100+ fps
4:38 My rtx 4070super did 40+fps with the same settings, path tracing with dlss quality WITHOUT frame generation.
It's not the same settings, as I bet you used Ray reconstruction and gained performance. DLSS works better performance wise with RT enabled. FSR works better with Raster. Also there's the recording penalty from Radeon Relive.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer ok I will try it later today with fsr and I will not turn on ray reconstruction.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I just tried it today with fsr quality and ray reconstruction off, PT on 1440p. Basically copied your exact settings and I got 30+ fps on that same cutscene. Highest was 38fps I think.
It's crazy because the 7900xtx is way faster on raster but the moment you turn on path tracing, they became equal.
Path tracing is terrible!
