This music is so awesome, so sharp and creepy. Reminds me of meathook chains clanking. Bearing in mind I had literally gone from playing Sonic 3 on Xmas Eve to Doom on Xmas Day. Probably the greatest generational leap ever.
Actually getting lost made it more creepy to me. And as you said the music built that suspense of being trapped. I remember a few times running out of rad suits and turning off my PlayStation so I didnt fry in the lava, lol
@@Bengaltiger1289 Right. I agree. This level literally felt like I'd imagine hell to be. Just an all-around creepy level. The PSX versions did so well on the atmospheric music. So creepy, yet awesome.
@@spectre_222 true. Labyrinth levels not just in Doom, but psychological *horror* always gave me that dread of going around a corner... doubting myself which is the right path. It works in this version of Doom far better than in PC Doom mostly bc of the genius that is Aubrey Hodges (where the score by Bobby Prince begs for action packed , run n gun gameplay)
@@Bengaltiger1289 Agreed. I've always liked the PSX versions of Doom far better than the PC versions. I know they're missing some content/levels compared to the PC, but the music alone more than makes up for it. My favorite Doom music and map is from Final Doom: map 7, Geryon. Amazing level and spacey atmosphere, with extremely simple but creepy "tea kettle" whistling music.

This level always got me stuck back in the day. And that music repeating kept haunting me.

Thanks 😎👌
Is much better the PC versión and the músic
I prefer de PC versión
Well, someone has to.
How - this is identical but with creepier sky and haunting music. The PC version has crap music throughout the entire game
