Superman & Lois TV Show has adapted and portrayed Superman the best in most recent adaptations!
i am sad it's ending. with no reason.
they can do two jokers, and batmen, but not superman?
@@w1-em4nq I know it makes 0 sense man I’m just looking forward to S4 nonetheless
@@w1-em4nqGreat news! it's not ending. It's continuing on HBO max
It's not hard just lot of people in the creative sphere are too self obsessed that they can't not turn him into a toxic self insert no one but them can like
Superman could have been anything. But he chose to be kind.
Superman is square character like Cyclops, Mr Fantastic, Captain America etc., they need to find writers and directers that understand that and cater to the audience that like that type of superhero rather than trying to make him a bad ass or dark character.
It isnt hard. The director and writer matter.
Omni man isn't the Superman in Invincible, Mark is. It's not another "what if Superman were bad?" It's "what if Clark's dad was General Zod?"
I really want to know what time period/year James Gunn's Superman and DCU in general will be set in
Superman is hard to write because he represents ideals that are hard to live up to for many people so they just can't relate to him. Those readers/viewers can't believe that somebody with that much power can be so selfless with it. That there are people out there who would do that is inconceivable to them so when somebody does do something completely selfless they are seen as an extreme rarity when the reality is that we should be seeing this behavior as the norm. People should be wanting to help others without reward. Those who are able should be stepping in. Not just the big things either. To quote another favorite character, "simple acts of kindness and love" can keep evil at bay just as much, if not more, than great acts. That's why you see Superman doing things like saving an oil platform crew to getting a cat out of a tree for a little girl. He does the big and the small. He is the absolute least cynical superhero character so it is no surprise that people today, possibly one of the most cynical times in 80 years, have a hard time relating to him.
I was going to argue with you but come to think of it the Christopher reeves Superman movies were the most successful and that character had several different relatable issues in those movies.
@@ChrisRobba There's one line from the first Reeves film that gets me every time and is a character defining line for Superman. When he drops Luthor off at the prison and the warden thanks him, Superman looks at him and says, "no, sir. Don't thank me, warden. We're all part of the same team." Sums the character's beliefs and philosophy in just a few sentences.
Hi
The comics are the key. The disrespect to some of these great writers continue.
They are making up excuses to justify their ignorance, laziness to do research and utter disrespect for the character, its not that hard to write compelling superman stories
It's not hard. Warner Bros is generally a company of dead beats.
Warner bros was making successful franchises and universes before even MCU was a thing. It is one of the companies which has been making some of the highly acclaimed movies.
@@HokageOfGothamand they still have the rights to some of the most popular franchises like Harry Potter, dc, lord of the rings, game of thrones, looney tunes etc. It's just the way they have handled them which is really bad.

@@celinhooliveira3716 trying to break old habits i guess? i never bothered to do lots of stuff like comment first because i always found it a little juvenile, but i decided to today because i now know it’s nice to do silly little things for no reason sometimes, and i’ve been trying to be more fun! i put the thing in brackets because i think i’m scared of being annoying, but now that i’ve really thought about it i’m gonna remove it. thanks for asking wdym cuz i wouldn’t have really thought about that otherwise.
have a chill day
@@moknmey7782 no need to be scared, it's ok, have a nice day, or night
Stop having him be a chump for Lois Lane. He has a great fondness for Lois Lane but there's a bigger purpose to the character and the Man of Steel would know this. Long story short, use the old TV show The adventures of Superman as a main reference then stop trying to make him sooo human. Surely the crystals have told him of our history so he would know we can be very fickel. Part soldier part royalty and a general love for humanity. And don't hold up his strength. Depending on the situation just don't have him go full blown.
Man of steel was a great Superman movie. Saying it was meh and that he didn’t save anyone is kinda ludicrous
Listen again. That's not what he said.
Comments like this are half of the internet these days. Misinterpret something someone said so you can critique it snd feel smart.
He said IN THE THIRD ACT he doesn't save anyone.
Thsts true. Its a long, building smashing scene.
because the fans are insufferable, they don't want superman to face anything hard where he doubts himself , cries or gets angry. they want a clown who saves kittens from trees and gives ted talks
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about
#JustSayNoToKyle 👎 Seriously, great topic and 15 seconds in DollarStore Dan Casey makes you want to gargle with buckshot. Please use literally ANYONE else for these. FFS 🤦
Weird that you didn't give a single reason for your incel-style rage.
Superman is a metaphor for the government. A helpful big brother figure to save people from outside forces and accidents. This is why evil versions of him are depicted as tyrants. The problems with writing him comes from the fact his powers are often insurmountable, when in reality the government is not an unstoppable god. Superman should be beatable by solomon grundy, or lex luthor in his power armour without kryptonite. This way we can root for him in a fight like there's a chance he'll lose, and cities don't need to blow up when he fights. The Boys' Homelander is not completely indestructable, in this way they've kept him interesting.
You don't get superman at all
This is Frank Miller Superman and it is by far the worst take on Superman put to page. Superman was never a metaphor for the government. Superman, back in the "Truth, Justice, American Way" days, was the ideal of what this country stood for and still can. The government represents this country, but it isn't the country. The people are and Superman is the ideal that everyone, especially superheroes, should be living up to. Doing for those because you can. Not just because somebody says you have to.
@@Superpatriot well said
@@Superpatriot this thinking doesn't translate to film. People need to see the flaws and the weaknesses or they reject the story. Lex Luthor has always been more interesting to film audiences because he has a to climb.
@@kieran10202 We've already seen these in film. He can't be everywhere. He couldn't save his father when he died from a heart attack. He had to learn to fly. There's a trust that needs to be built with the planet's population.
superman is just a boring pos that needs to be forgotten, there are way better heroes than that character, batman, spiderman, goku, captain america, all might, godzilla, aang, homelander, invicible and omniman, i bet the new superman film will be a box office faliure considering no one gives a thought about superman these days, his irrelevant and only interesting when his the villian.
They don’t even exist without superman
Superman is just not a cool character. He's 1950's and not up-to-date.
People said the same thing about Captain America, but look how well the MCU did with that character LITERALLY ripped from 1945 and standing by his ideals.
@@Superpatriot even Joe Johnston said he based his cap on Superman.
@@prathapkutty7407 He's literally the mold for every comic superhero created. People add and take away from him, but he's always at the core.
